Day 36 & 37: Shoe Promenade

Day 36

Yesterday

I wore these new pumps out!
I was soo happy the entire day! Every trip to the toilet looking at myself at the mirror made me happy!

Day 37

I wore these today.
Along with my not so new pokka dot (kids) skirt from Gap.
I'm happy already!!

I got both pairs from Zara. I love that they don't bite my feet and don't hurt my pockets!!

Day 35: China broccoli

Yesterday

Finally a non-Emma post!

Lets go back two days ago, Im changing the subject of the topic, in case that person reads my blog (you! yes you!) and knows its him/her.

This person says he/she was going to buy a China broccoli to cook for dinner. Then I was pointing out the down side of broccoli, I was saying based on my experience on eating/ cooking broccoli from Australia, America and Europe. But I've never eaten/cook a broccoli from China. But I assumed they are all similar, I mean, its broccoli. And the other fact is, I eat broccoli probably more often than he/she. Its a statistic of me eating/ cooking brocoli 3-4 times a year, compared to he/she eating broccoli once every few years.

He/she then replied he/she knows all the downside that I was talking about. And appeared not bothered with what I've said.

One day later (which was yesterday), he/she came back with a list of things that his/her friend explained to him/her about why they choose still to buy the broccoli from China!!!

I just nodded and walk away after listening. But secretly I find it amusing that it just shows when he/she was telling me he/she knows bout the downside of China broccoli, he/she really just know nuts bout it, and was pretending he/she does know.

Confusing eh?

Day 34: School

After I dressed her up in her uniform this morning, she immediately went to her bag
I hope this means shes happy to go school?

I hope so, at least shes not wailing.

Day 33: Its back

2 weeks ago, we had this discussion of whether to get a air purifier. We've been undecided since then. On Saturday, I was quite sure I smell it, the PSI said its 20 odd. Yesterday, hubs said he smell it too, PSI said its 30 odd. Hubs said we should just get it, so yesterday we got it online and went to collect it today.

I was quite glad its in our room now, cause I was sure I smell it today too. I last check 5 mins ago, PSI is hitting 40.

Its coming back isn't it?

Kith@ Quayside Asle

So we finally went Quayside Alse.

She was extremely happy.
The breakfast looks quite the same as the one at Robertson Quay

And we manage to have a walk afterwards
Hanging around. Literally.
Having some heart to heart conversation.
We probably wouldn't be back anytime soon. The $7 entrance is a bit hard to swallow.

Day 32: Digital scrapbooking

A little milestone towards digital scrapbooking!
Now my blurb photobooks will be prettier!!

Of cause thanks to my photoshop master husby!

Day 31

Woah!! So much to be happy bout today!!!

Our blurb albums are here!!
I love it so much!!

We went for Emma's cousin one month celebration

And the best news of the day, which might or might not happen though, we really might be able to move within walking distance of my parents!!!! *fingers crossed*

Day 30: Our safety net

Today I'm happy that whenever Emma is down, theres always my mum to look after her and we can go to work with a peace of mind. Not anyone else, not maid, not helper, not infant care, just my own mother who is a 20 mins drive away from our place. This is not luck, this is a choice we made to stay near them. (the fact is we are never content isn't it, last wk we had a thought of selling our current place and move within walking distance.)

Day 29

Yesterday

I had to work late and only managed to reach home at 8:30, thats almost bedtime for Emma. But she wasn't quite sleepy and I'm happy that we managed to roll around and laugh about in bed for about 30 mins before she slept! And the first time I hear her in Chinese, she said 鼻子.
On a side note, shes been very very vocal recently, able to identify animals and say 'Pig oink', 'Dog woof', 'Cat meow', 'Tiger roar' etc

Day 28

Yesterday

This is a good reason to be happy with everyday isn't it?
Hubs reached home at 8:30! Early for a school night. Emma was just going 'Dadi dadii dadiiiiiiiiiiii' All.the.time.

Day 28: Playground

Yesterday

Happy that we are able to find time on a weekday to spend sometime together asif its a wkend!!

Day 27: Freedom

Mummy's guilt. Emma could have been home today with us today, but we left her at school so that we could ahem *cough* *cough* catch a whole day's breathe.

There isn't much she could do if she doesn't go school, she would have been stuck (albeit happily) to this playground
But anyway, we sent her off.

And I even manage to sneak in a quick shopping trip!!!

Day 26: Free Photobook

Over last Christmas, Groupon was giving out free photobook. FREE. There's no reason I wouldn't get it, I mean, whats there to lose?

I've got Emma, hubs and myself one each.

I started on the first album, it was exhausting. The application was terrible, not user friendly at all. I've been doing photobooks for years, and the usual one I use I would say its top notch. Super user friendly and very good quality for a reasonable price.

Now that this is free, I get uncomfortable not utilising it. So, today I FINALLY finish one and sent it off for printing.

One down, two to go.

Day 25

Yesterday

My happy thing would be with all thats happening these few days, theres a playground right behind
Its a very good playground actually, better than the one we had at home. That has been keeping her very occupied, and tired.

Valentines Day!

We've never really made a huge deal out of this, but its an occassion that calls for at least a small celebration! I mean, it is a commercial occassion, but I'm willingly falling into the trap since I'm eligible. I would be sad (thats just me) if I were single on Vday. So, being attached, and married, and with a cutie kid calls for triple celebration isn't it?

I made reservations at Artichokes.

It wasn't that awesome. Lets just say the food spread there isn't our kind, and it definitely did not fit the price. But I like it that they served a normal menu on Vday and not charge exorbitantly for the occassion.

I'll start to remember to get a family photo of us wherever possible. We've got so little of these!

Looking through the menu seriously.

And placing her orders.

She totally wasn't interested to take a picture.

We ended our dinner with 2/3 empty stomach and a sad wallet, and said not to return until we forgot about this experience.

Hubs got me flowers.

And I turned it to this

And this!!

I was extremely pleased with myself, so I'm gona get more nicer looking vases, and try some flower arrangements!

I got him these.

But I think I wrapped the present too pretty-ly, he had high hopes for it.

I've warned him, its not a camera or anything he wants..

Only to realise, its a tissue box with sweets and chocolates. Look at his face!! From very happy, to one straight line.

I need to tune down on my wrapping skills. (Which was just brown paper and pink ribbon, both bought in great hurry during lunch.)

Day 23 & 24

Day 23

I've got a brand new phone!!!
Not that anyone can tell with the picture, but its new!! I went over to the telco over lunch and within 20minutes was swoped a new phone!!!

That really made my day, considering the camera spoilt really spoilt my previous day. I realised the camera function plays a very important role in my daily life.

Day 24

ITS Valentine's day!!!

I woke up extremely happy!!

This is our 11th Valentine's day together. *yeeks*

The first one was in 2004, if I didn't remember wrongly, we had dinner in broadway nearby our school this restaurant called Tiamo, and I got lilies. If only we had photos, camera phones weren't very popular at that time.

No matter how commercialised Valentine's day is, I think it deserves at least a meal together. I'm happy that I'm not alone on Vday, and found someone to grow old with.

My friend JT once shared an article with me and I found this paragraph very meaningful:

'I once asked my mother if she loved me or my father more, certain I knew the answer: me. Instead, she bent down and looked me in the eye, hands gently on each shoulder. She explained that she couldn’t help loving me and that the love of a mother for her baby was incredibly strong. But then she told me that the love she had for my daddy was a love of choice, which made it extra special. Of all the people in the world, she chose him and he chose her.'

So happy Valentine's day!
To Emma's daddy!! (who is doing the most important task of locking the door while took selfies)

Day 22: Free Starbucks!!

Today I won a free cuppa Starbucks!!

Thats on the side note that I dropped my phone early in the morning and the camera's dead now. Its making me sad the whole day.

Day 21: Another free lunch!

Last lou hei for 2014. Maybe next year I should consider eating lou hei for 15 days everyday. Its really super yummilicious!!

Day 20: Duck

Today I had my first taste of heavenly duck meat from Cold Storage!!

My collegeue cut it into 10 pieces and we paid 50 cents per piece for a 50 cent coin size bite.

Day 19: Still early!

Today, Im happy that its only the 9th, I had to double check with hubs cause I thought he got the date wrongly. I thought its already mid month, which means end of month is approaching, which I totally dread cause theres just so much things happening.
A blurry shot with Ems and the walking pets I ordered yesterday to give to the kids who came over for the gathering. I love giving away walking pets, cause I find them utterly cute and easy to give and I've got a fantastic lobang, hence making it cheap too!!
But I couldn't get any usable non-blurry shoot.

Day 18: Gatherings

Today we had a gathering with friends at our house, and I thought it went pretty well, thought we still end up wasting quite a bit of food.

I'm so tired. I just wanna sleep.

Nightz.

Day 17: Splash

Accidentally just now, I spilt my tea.
The good thing is, the spill stopped at the edge of the table so it did not drip onto my white skirt! *phew*
I've got a dinner to go to tonight, that will be disastrous if it happens.

This should perk up my day!

Day 16: Hold

These two weeks, Emma had been having a speech boom. She was suddenly using loads of words to tell us what she wants, counting on the list:

- milk (means she wants)
- touch (means mummy told her she can only touch and not take or pull. Applies to many things in the house where shes not allowed to take.)
- open and close
- up and down (up was one of her very first words, but it took her that long to say and understand down. All along, everything was just up up up up, even thought its down)
- no (she doesn't really says no. she goes nononononononononono at least 5 times)
- paste (means she wants to paste stickers)
- neck, eyes, nose, toes, ears, mouth, head, hair (pointing them all out as well)
- bag (when mummy and daddy has a bag, Emma needs a bag too)
- sit
- sleep (just two nights ago, she started telling us she wants to sleep. She would then walk to the room, and climb on the bed and ask for her milk, after which, she really did sleep.)
- car
- book (means she wants to read)

This morning, she used a new word which really surprised me. Hubs was holding a bag, she pointed to the bag and said 'hold'. So we gave her a bag and hold.

I wished we had recorded it down!

Day 15

Today is a terrible day.

1) I almost fell this morning, but luckily hubs hoped me in time, I was saved from landing on my butt.

2) I fell during lunch and hit my tailbone. I was meant to fall afterall.

3) My tailbone is freaking painful now.

4) The part time maid that was supppose to start this weekend said she couldn't do for me.

5) 4 bad stuff is enough for a Wednesday.

I guess the only happy thing was hubs returning home and I'm still awake.

Bored

This is my third post in a weekday night. My plan was actually to play with Emma, but for some reason, she was sooo tired, she said she wanted to sleep at 7:45pm. At 8, she was gone.

Hubs isn't in. So honestly, I'm quite bored.

Nice: Accomodation

So, we are going to Nice! And since time just flies, its next month!!! *wwweeeee*

I've settled on the accomodation. The first two nights we will be staying in Nice city in my company's apartment, so that's free, which is good, subsidising part of our trip. And also the location is right smack in the middle of their Orchard Road, we didn't had to rent a car for these two days.

For the rest of the nights we will stay in one of the nearby meidival village call St Paul de Vence and rent a car. After days of research, I found this fabulous place!!!

Overlooking the Alps

We are renting the entire villa, which comes with two rooms.

Looking at it makes me happy already. It has very good reviews, so I hope this place turns out as good as it sounds!
