Saturday Stretch~

So, Friday night, I was bored, and got a bit too adventurous. I suggested going to Chijmes flea market. Sounds good eh, except that, its 6pm to midnight. And my idea of going, is after hubs is back from lessons, which is 9++ by the time he reach home.

So I was really bored at home on a Friday night, and went ahead with my plan. It was a disaster. Emma almost had a meltdown, cause I interrupted her sleep. I thought she can just sleep in the stroller and we just push and shop around. Boy I was so wrong!! I was so noisy!! It woke her up. Obviously not very happy that shes outside.

Anyway, lesson learnt. We will always be home for bedtime. And never head out again. Until we forget about this.

And this morning, she had to punish me. Her morning nap was actually 10am. She played till almost 1pm, and finally konk out.

And in the mean time, our home elf is hard at work!!

Shoes for walking

So, since Emma can walk pretty nicely now, apart from clothes, we are now shopping for shoes! Apart from Stride Rite that she's been wearing, Little Blue Lamb is also another softer alternative. Yesterday we got this:

And today I bought these from a website that offers free international shipping!! I hate paying for shipping costs.

These were on sale!! Love sales. So I got two pairs. Marks the start of a happy Friday!

Big Shiela + Magnum

A hectic weekend just passed. We spent almost the entire weekend in cleaning up the house, rearranging back the furniture and also taking this chance to change the layout. *sweats*

Last Sunday, there was no dinner at my in-laws, so we had to eat out. We tried Big Sheila near hub's place.

They were only open at 6pm, so we just hung out outside their place, watching runners run by.

So in hope of a happy toddler so that her parents can hopefully eat in peace, she has to be fed first.

We had some fried rice ball which was delish!

Mushroom soup, which is too milky tasting for my liking.

Beef for mains which was nice.

And hubs tim tam cake.

Overall too ex for our liking, and the place was quite a squeeze. The table weren't even big enough for what we've ordered.

This weekend. We will no longer have #junkfoodfridays anymore, because hubs will be having classes every Tuesday and Friday (sadly. It feels like our weekend has been shortened. Hope we get better luck next semester).

Saturday we visited the Magnum pop up store to be carrot heads.

Rose looking magnum for Emma.

I'm not too sure whether she should be eating this, or whether the petals were at all edible.

She actually only has a few licks.

Random koala bear hug Emma does which I loveeeee.

First World Problems

And so, yes I'm on leave for this week. And I'm not going overseas. Its rare. I think its a waste of time, sitting and bumping around, not making full use of it. And not even spending time with Emma. Its slightly different from maternity leave. Now that I'm 2 days into my at-home-leave, the more I think in future if possible, the only time I'll take block leave is to go overseas.

The bad thing bout being at-home-leave, people expects you to work. First day of my leave, 9am, I've got a work related message, and a phone call. It wasn't even urgent. Yes I'm at home, but I'm on leave too, can't I just stay at home and not work.

I'm obviously not a workaholic. I don't have a habit of checking my mails over weekends or after working hours. But now I realise, its a vicious cycle. I'm not sure whether its people turning to workaholic cause they got nothing else to do, or workaholic turning into them. When I'm on at-home-leave, the first thing I do after breakfast, is to check my office mail.

Thats cause Emma's not around. But I do have other things to do, catching up on my Grey Anatomy, scrap-booking, doing my blurb, catching up on my magazines. Just that part of me feel the need to check my mail first before I can start my personal stuff. I think its not healthy. And I don't really like that part of me. I very much preferred to be overseas, and out of contact, enjoying my holidays.

I WANNA GO ON HOLIDAYY!!!!!

Which brings me to my next first world problem, where to go on holidays for March 2014. I've been having this dilemma for a while. New York? Or no New York? Or Europe?

Home Version 2.0

Tuesday. Today.

I'm on leave for a week starting yesterday to jagar my house, so that the electrician, carpenters, painters can be around to beautify our home. Things are slowly coming together, in a messy way.

A month ago, the air con guy did a fulgy trunking. Some background, we added a addition air con system to Emma's room, so they had to link trunking via our room to the outlet (forgot what its called). Look at the picture below. The black arrows are the extra fugly trunking that they did. We already had the original trunking, I couldn't understand why they couldn't jus remove and form 1 trunking, instead of running 2 separate ugly casing. They say it can't be done. Idiots. So, it took me 1 month to realise that I can't live with it.
I'm not an expert in air con, BUT I KNEW IT CAN BE DONE!! Obviously I was right (and they might be out just to make me re-do it so that I can pay them again). So, I did, paid them, and they combine it into 1. Not very clear, but its in red arrows pointing. Just 1 trunking running, and half of it is hidden in the L box, which I'm super happy about. This marks the end of my air con ordeal.

The most messy part of the reno is completed. The L box. The house was SOOO DUSTY after that. But I'm so happy with it. Finally we can have bright lights in the masterbed room. Yesterday the painter painted the ceiling first, so that the electrician can come in today to do up the lights.
The dining area and corridor area L box is done as well.
Emma's room L box is done.
So today will be painting the rest of the walls, and electricians coming in to do up the lights.

Tomorrow and Thursday we'll be fixing up the feature wall for the living room. (like finally, no more messy wires!)
And feature wall to our masterbed room as well.
The current colour for our living room is grey-purple. So we're changing it to bisque, for those (or everyone) who doesn't understand that colour, its beige! I think. I can't bear to change away the purple actually. I love it so much, but we should get a new colour. The current room colour is pink. Its the best colour in the world. So. Ya. Its gona stay pink!

Can't wait for this week to be over for a brand new Version 2.0 of our home!

Pretend Play

It all started when she went to a birthday party and there was a kitchen playset, she was fiddling around it. Then was the spoon, she wants one at the dinner table all the time, so that she can do the ahhh-armmmm fake eating action. So we've decided that it was time for a kitchen playset!! It was a no brainer for me that Mother Garden's playset was the only way to go, until I realised, its only 60cm in height, Ems is already 80cm now. We definity need something that we can squeeze more mileage from. Theres not much choices out there, little tikes good, but yuck to the colour. And then, ELC. Pink and just nice the height, only thing tricky was the price. Then! Was the sale, so it didn't take us long to decide on it.

Ems has been coo-ing over it ever since. Its still unboxed cause of our mini makeover at home.

Then, previously, months ago, I've got a fake cake at an online sale! Took it out from the store, and viola!

She loves it! First thing she ask for every wkend morning.

I'm an addictive shopper. My only excuse - it was on discount. I've got this.

And this, so that she can cook at her kitchen set.

And a random doctor set.

Just cause it was all on sale!!

Pleased with myset. *pat on back*

Penny University + MK

So our fabulous weekend starts on Friday! Picked up Ems a little later, we went MK for dinner!!

I'm not a big fan on steamboat, but MK sauce is just sooooo gooodddddd.

Actually i forgotten how it tasted like, until Friday.

Saturday we had some errands to ran though. Cause of the reno, we had to get some bulbs and a door bell. After 7 yrs, we've decided, we need a doorbell in the house, to replace the current fake doorbell. The morning started early, with breakfast at Penny University, very near hub's place along East Coast.

Ems in a i-want-my-cultlery phase, she needs her fork and spoon, so she can pretend to feed herself too.

Wearing a dress gifted by hub's bro, very hawaiian style. Very un-babygap-ly though i thought.

The food was not bad.

Especially the croissants!! So good, we ordered a second serving.

A big big minus point that we'll prob not return. Super child unfriendly. We were lucky enough to get a booth seat before our food arrive and it got really crowded. Emma's fine with booth seats, but there're only two in the entire cafe. They don't have a single high chair.

And we had to let her loose. Theres no chair for her afterall.

Today hubs' place is not cooking dinner, secretly, I'm happy!! Means we get to eat out again!! We hardly eat out for dinner.

Wippiess~ received the photos from a studio shoot that we've done 2 weeks ago. Got a $12 deal from groupon. Don't you just love such great deals. Great for family shoots, cause there's only so much a phone can do, mug shoots. Sometimes its great to have nice full portraits.

So we pop Ems into her $14 buck H&M dress which almost got forgotten, that was her first time wearing it. And hubs was in his photoshoot uniform (which i'll prove later that this is the same one for many photoshoot that we took). And me in an outfit that I later didn't really like, cause I find the top doesn't quite match the bottom. Anyhows.

Emma was in an extremely good mood the other day. Extremely. Most of the pictures she was all so smiley.

A great way to spend the weekend!
