Sale~~
Today was a super exciting day!!! There is a Mattel and Fisher-Price sale!! Those with kids would be familiar with these brands that sells overpriced toys, but the sale was an... OVERWHELMING experience. Everything was super duper cheap!!
My loots!

Small items were going for $5-$10

The bigger items are going for $15-25, these are all originals and the non discounted prices are expensive (and overpriced hence not worth buying!), but its a different story now.

Every child needs a (noisy) piano! (we're just waiting to regret buying this)

Wagon with building blocks in it

Couldn't resists the doll houses, cause they are way too cheap! Though I know I have to keep a long time before she knows how to play with them. But they were a steal! The original price w tagged at $100++

Every girl needs a barbie vacation dollhouse!!

I did resist to buy the figurines, though they were going at $5 each!
And she needs a training potty

I think we are still quite selective when choosing what to buy.. It was scary seeing people there taking like it was free.
This marks the end of my exciting mid week.
Maternity leave rocks! (hubs took half day leave, and we both agreed it was totally worth it!)
Actually I feel like opening the vacation doll house now. It looks really fun...

Holiday Destination 2013
With a little luck, we've completed our trip for 2012 without much hiccups. This trip wasn't very 看好by most people (mothers mainly) we told of, reason being, it was 1 month after my delivery. Looking back, I think i would do it again. 1 month after delivery was just about the right time to get away:
1) The baby can't recognise you. It is quite a different story now.
2) Its a good break away from the hectic first month to reorganise myself.
3) The bond between the mother and child is not that strong yet. Maybe its just me with the lack of maternal instincts, but such bond definately did not come with the snap of the fingers, or the snap of the umblical cord. I had a personal relationship with myself for 29 years, a love relationship with hubs for almost 10 years, and a relationship with Emma for 1 month. It is definately easier to leave her with my mum at that time as compared to now. (Although she has been very difficult to look after since Sunday, throwing all the tantrams she has up her sleeves. I was close to calling the police cause we dint know what to do. We suspect shes gona teeth soon, hence the thunderous cries. And last of all, we gave in to the pacifier. Thats the only thing currently that can sooth her, for a while. Shes on a milk strike too, I had to trick her into drinking it. But accepting all of the above, mummy still love you!)
Back to the topic, now planning for 2013. Before Emma came, actually I had Paris in mind

I went to google on the ease of bringing a child on holiday and it seems quite do-able. That was before the actual Emma came along. After she's here and bringing her out every single weekend, we've concluded that Europe is a no-no. Because we can't rent a car in Europe. Travelling without a car with Emma and her 101-things-to-bring baby bag would be a potential nightmare. And fyi, her baby bag is only good for half day trips, if we were to go out for an entire day, we probably need a duffer bag to put her baby supplies. For those without babies, it means (a lot of) milk powder, (a lot of) diapers, change of clothes, wet tissue, dry tissue, handkerchief, milk bottles, hot water, cold water, changing cloth. If I'm still pumping, there will be another set of pump equipment. So thats a no for Europe.
We are left with Australia and America, where we can rent a car and drive at ease. We had New York

But eliminated it because we jus went last year and this year. I have stocked up enough of baby clothes. But we'll definately return before Emma turns 2, because air tix is very much cheaper for kids under 2.
That leaves us for Australia. We've never been to Sydney

Or we can just return to our all time favourite Perth!

Actually, we're more or less going Perth I think. Cause its just a 4 hour flight away, good for a test flight for Emma. Theres not much sightseeing to do, easy on our itinery (if we even have one) with Emma on tow. And its definately stroller and baby friendly!! (We have a not so small stroller, pushing it across the shopping streets of Hong Kong would be a mightmare.)
Its 3:20pm, I probably still get bout 1-2 hrs of break before Emma wakes up. Please don't be so cranky like yesterday...

Date night friday!
Yesterday night was date night! We left Emma over at my mum's for the night and we went to catch a movie!

It was not too bad, though I would prefer avengers. But it definately did not felt like a 3 hour show.
And while Im out, I went for a update on my work shoe closet. After pregnancy, my feet definately did not went back to pre-pregnancy size of 36. I am now a 37. Hence some of my previous shoes cant be worn, luckily the ferragamos still fit. Apparently 37 is the most common size, I requested for 6 pairs of shoes at Pazzion and only 2 pairs had that size. So I only came out with 2 pairs of shoes (gentle on my wallet too.)

Baby swimming
As with all parents, we brought Emma swimming. I remembered telling myself or hubs that we will not bring her for those swim, but yesterday we were out and hubs suddenly suggested bringing her for a swim. Being spontaneous, we went!

It was not too bad, she definately looks like she enjoyed it! But I doubt we'll be back often, its very (extremely actually) expensive - $38 for 15 min. But the service was excellent, think thats why Emma was quite happy, the staff was playing with her all the time.

No more infant insert!
Our baby Emma has progressed!! She no longer need the infant insert!

She can hold her neck quite well already, so we decided to give her some space and took it out. (She needs to have that pink hanky behind her head cause the seat's material is quite static and it messes up her hair. Whatever little hair she has.)

I'm cute~
Check out my new romper~
Our dotti turning 3 months old in exactly a week's time.

She's wearing a new romper we got from the outlet, 9mth Osh Kosh, I think there's something wrong with their cutting. If not hopefully she doesnt turn out obese.
(When she was 1mth plus old, she was fitting into 3-6mths rompers)

I love to sit~
Emmy is now really growing fast and furious. She's turning 3 months old next week and already can't wait to sit.

She now spends a lot of her awake time sitting, cause once you put her lying down, she'll show you with her neck and legs and cries that she wants to get up. It stops when she's at a sitting position. It gets rather tiring still as she can't sit up by herself yet, her neck is quite stable already, not as wobbly. She can't initiate a flip yet, I suspect its her heavy butt thats keeping her down to the ground. But if you put her slightly to the side, she is able to complete the flip and able to free her own hand. Having said that, she shows no interest in attempting to flip on her own.

She's much more fun now, but I do miss her first month where she does her sleeping marathon... those days are gone.. *sobs*

A baby is not a toy
Its been a long week last week. Ive met many mummies too, and there were many mummy talk. Most of them have more than 1 child, so the natural question was to ask when I am having a second one. Honestly I said we were quite sure we are gona stop at 1, and there goes the many questions of why. Again honestly I state one of the obvious reasons that I don't think I can cope with another crying baby.
Yes, she is very cute

But she produces deafening cries. I can see one of them throwing me a judgemental look, and said she doesn't mind the cries.
I realise the difference between me and them. They all have maids who look after their babies/kids. They only bring 1 kid out at a time, the other would be left at home with the maid. The maid would bath, change diaper, carry and coax the baby when she cries.
I don't believe in a maid bringing up your children. I believe if you want to be a parent, or have a child, you have to take all that comes with it, the good and the bad. I can't choose to only want to play with the baby (a baby is not a toy), the maid will do the dirty/tiring work of changing the diapers, bathing the baby and coaxing her when she cries.
I change 50% of Emma's diaper, other 25% by my mum, and 25% by hubs. The same goes for taking care of her.
Of cause you don't mind baby's cries, cause you wouldn't be the one attending to her, the maid does all the work.
So till now, I would be Emma's maid and slave, cleaning her butt whenever she wants me to. In exchange, she gives me a little renumeration call Joy.

On a side note, I'm glad we made the Hawaii trip early, cause I dont't think I can bear to leave our Dotti behind now.

Pests pestsss more pestsss
Since April when I was doing my confinement, our kitchen is more well used, not an idea I'm keen of, I very much prefer an unused kitchen so that it can be squeeky clean at ALL TIMES. Luckily my most hated cockroach did not appear. But ants are a tricky thing. They have always been around. With a baby around and when there's milk, I seem to be breeding a nest of ants somewhere.
Yesterday we had a shock when I took a photo album out from the book shelf, I released a WHOLE NEST OF ANTS!!! Hubs and I got into a frenzy mode and started cleaning the area as fast as we could killing as much ants in the fastest speed we can.
And being pest magnet, hubs found this in his car

I need to start carrying a bygone in my bag.

Monday
Finally my dotti is asleep. (dotti- short for daughter, then daughti. That's what me and hubs calls her, if not Emma.) She usually takes her longest nap right about now at 3pm. It would probably be hopefully 3-4 hours later that she will wake up for her next feeding, then playtime for a while, and it would be bedtime till tomorrow 5/6am for her breakfast feed. She doesnt nap much in the morning, it would be 1-2 30 mins nap, my mum would be entertaining her the rest of the time.
Its been a busy morning with the air con servicing people came. I need some rest (sleep), so I wouldnt be blogging on my trip. I've more or less completed my Hawaii album, almost reading to send for printing.
Let me present my one and only straw hat! I bought this over a year ago in California, finally got chance to wear. Was inspired to get one after our Santorini trip, after I got one, there was not much occassion to wear it.
And I'm almost recovered from my uneven sunburnt! The peels are more or less gone, but I'm still in 2 shades at my chest and arms cause of lousy sunblock application skills. I wore 2 kinds of bathing suits, so there are 2 tan lines from those as well. Thats more difficult to go off I guess.
