Fall at the Farmstead
The Parrish and Bermensolo visited the pumpkin patch at Farmstead last weekend. We brought the two newest members with us; Bennit (6 weeks) and Blake (5 months). It was the perfect fall day. We picked out pumpkins (and put them back)...(one of us took a really weird one). We ate cotton candy, pretzels and kettle corn. We all took a hay ride...except Justin, he had the stroller and had to follow us with it on foot.

5 months of….wait 6 months of….time needs to SLOW DOWN!
I have been slacking! The last 2 (almost 3) months have flown by in the blink of an eye. So much has changed:
Started crawling.
Eating solid food.
Wearing 9 month clothing.
Weighed in at almost 19lbs.
It seems like every day she starts looking more like a tiny person and less like my little baby!

And it keeps getting harder to make her stay still for a picture….

Our Midwest Adventure
We returned from our trip across the midwest today, which also means Kinsley has officially been to 9 states in just under five months: Washington, Oregon, Idaho (obviously), Utah, Arizona, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota and South Dakota. I'm tired, Justin's tired, and I do believe Kinsley is tired. It has been a busy summer and we are ready for it to slow down. This particular trip was special because Kinsley got to meet her GREAT GRANDMA's on the Parrish side.
Our first top was Appleton, WI. Justin and Kinsley swam in Lake Winnebago (the back yard of Great Grandma Parrish) and we got to celebrate one of Justin's cousins birthdays.

Next was on to Green Bay, WI. Kinsley got to meet her second cousins; Brynn, Avry and Gavin and she snuggled with Great Grandma Niermann. We, of course, made a stop by Lambeau Field. Naturally, Kinsley is the cutest Packer fan.
Finally we hit the road to Pipestone, MN. This has been a trip 10 years in the making for me. My dear friend Jamie (former volleyball teammate, roommate and bestie) got hitched! It was wonderful to be there with my new little family, and although short it was wonderful to see Jamie marry the man of her dreams and share in the celebration with so many close friends and family. Not to mention it was a mini-Bosie State alum gathering! So much fun!

4 Months of Fun
This month has been BUSY, to say the least. We took our first family vacation to Phoenix, AZ and Lake Powell. KJ got to fly on a plane, meet her 2nd cousins, Great Aunt and Uncle.
We also traveled to McCall, ID (for the 4th of July) and Salt Lake City, UT (for a work trip). This girl is becoming quite the traveler and is so laid back. We decide that we would just drag her everywhere with us and 'train' her to be adaptable. Well, I am not sure if that is a thing but figure its worth a try!
She weighed 15lbs 13oz at her 4 month checkup…she is in the 90% for weight and 92% for height! We love the healthy thigh and wrist roles.
New this month:
- Rolled over for the first time
- Took a dip in the water
- Loves to talk
- Tries to reach for the dogs
- Flew on a airplane
- Saw fireworks
- Went to her first happy hour
- Started teething

3 Months of Joy
I think the best part about having a baby (or a child in general) is that it causes you to s-l-o-w down, take a breath and enjoy every little moment. I find myself taking time to pause and to just enjoy life for the gift it is, like I have never done before… With Kinsley, every smile, giggle, yawn, poo, wiggle, and new event just fills my heart with so much joy and thankfulness. I have always had a hard time sitting still for short periods of time but, now, I find my self sitting for hours while she naps on my chest, just breathing in her sweet scent, it's incredible. Everyone tells you before the baby arrives what it might be like but THIS is far beyond anything I could have imagined.
Whats new this month?
Whats new this month?
- Has started playing with toys.
- Is tracking people and voices.
- Starting to giggle.
- Still has mood hair (Is it brown, blond, red?!? We can't tell).
- Eyes are DEFINITELY blue! The prettiest shade I've ever seen!
- Nana and Papa Hewitt came to visit (first time since she was born).
- Sleeping between 8 and 11 hours at night (thank you mom for the 'miracle blanket').
- Can now (somewhat) lift her torso off the ground during tummy-time.
- She went on a boat for the first time.
- Watched her Daddy play golf.
Why yes, I did dress her in 90's (Tupac) inspired attire.
