Here's a couple cards . . . with all the local graduations just finishing up, this was the first year since our own graduations many years ago, that we've got to join in on the festivities with friends who children are finally hitting this milestone. We still have two more years before we'll be planning that graduation party or watching the commencement ceremony of our first born. (Can I really be that old???) I used Elmer's CraftBond Tape Runner and Glue Spots, I also cut from the Foam Board to POP-UP my sentiment. The X-ACTO Gripster knife with self-healing mat was perfect for cutting down the SRM Sentiment Stickers to the right size.

One day while antiquing with my sister, I stumbled upon this {old} strainer and knew instantly that I wanted to make a wall hanging with it. This photo was taken on Father's Day last year, it was one of those rare moments caught through the camera that I'll cherish forever. I used the same Elmer's and X-ACTO products on this project as well . . .

And this is by far my favorite project created for this blog hop . . . as I sit here typing this, this years "Relay for Life" is taking place. Last year I spent all night out walking for the many people who had already lost their battle or for those who were still fighting . . . I walked for my Dad, my Hero! He had finished up his radiation/chemo, still feeling very weak, but was out there walking that "Survivor" lap . . . out in front, just the place I'd expect him to be. As he and my Mom rounded that corner for the last stretch, Jakob, my sister and myself joined them and together we finished that lap. It was a very emotional evening . . . with every passing day, I am ever so blessed to still have him here, still able to talk to him and hear his voice, watch him with my children . . . he is the rock that holds our family together, like I said . . . he's my Hero, he's my everything!

In addition to the Elmer's CraftBond Tape Runner and Tacky Glue, I used LOTS of Glue Spots . . . they certainly came in handy with all the die cuts and do-dads that I placed on this LO. The Glue Spots are wonderfully sticky and work way better than what I've been using! The X-ACTO scissors are some of the BEST scissors I've ever used . . . and they have a pink handle! ;)

So, there you have it . . . The hop will end at 11:30 PST Sunday evening June 12th. I hope you're enjoying the blog hop so far and will take away a ton of inspiration from this event. Go out and buy some of the products shown or that are being given away . . . you will not be disappointed!

Scrappy NEWS I can finally share . . .

Craft Warehouse has finally announced their 2011 Design Team . . . the NEW DT, their profiles and entries have been posted HERE . . . I made my decision to submit literally at the last minute, so last minute that I two-day air shipped my entries just to be sure that they arrived at the CWH office by the deadline. My altered project is by far my favorite . . . I found this wall hanging message center at my local CWH, I thought it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. I gathered up snapshots from the past year of my Dad, when I sat down to work on it, it all just came together. So many {GOOD} memories . . . and a few of the not so good that we've been living since he was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme Stage 4 Brain Cancer . . . everyday that we still have him here is truly a Blessing!

Mother's Day 2011 . . .

What a wonderful way to start my day, Joe made me his traditional Mother's Day breakfast . . . Strawberry Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast and Bacon. A breakfast wouldn't be complete without "my" bacon, seeings how bacon is what won my heart nearly 19 years ago. (I'll have to save that story for another post.) After breakfast I finished up one last card and then we headed over to my parents house for a nice quiet afternoon . . .

Reminisce's NEWEST line "In Bloom" was PERFECT for creating "Mother's Day" cards for my Mom and Grandma. I'll definitely be reaching for this line again soon . . . it's BEA-U-TI-FUL!

Things will never be the same . . .

It's hard to believe that it's been a year since we found out the news that changed our lives forever. We never saw it coming, we would have never expected to hear those dreaded words . . . Malignant Brain Tumor! I can remember like it was yesterday, the events of that day, my Dad coming over to tell me the news . . . he was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme Stage 4 Brain Cancer . . . I was crushed! Here was this man, my superman, my HERO, my Dad . . . I thought that there was nothing that could bring him down, and now he was about to take on this battle to fight for his life. He would not be alone, we would not leave his side during this journey.

This devastation has brought our family closer than it has been in years. I still often wonder how this can even be happening. Although it seems like the longest year of my life, it has flow by . . . through brain surgery, radiation/chemo, countless road trips, MRIs and all the waiting for the results, Gamma Knife procedures, sleepless nights, Avastin infusions and plenty of tears, we have made it this far together . . . as a F A M I L Y!!! I pray daily for a CURE to be found and I'll ALWAYS be praying for that MIRACLE!
