Some cards to share . . .

Not a whole lot going on . . . I've been in a funk that I just can't seem to pull myself out of, but I have managed to make several cards over the past couple of weeks. Hopefully I can pull myself together and get some LO's created, lots of ideas just no motivation!
And here's an older card that I never got posted . . .

How can it be possible that this month is nearly half over already??? It seems like we were just celebrating Christmas and now it's Joe's Birthday already . . . Happy "38th" Birthday Joe! All of our snow is finally gone and I'm back to hitting the pavement, and it's not been easy either! Three weeks of no running on account of the snow and ice has my body thinking it is starting all over . . . I'm back at ground zero again and it sucks! But knowing that Spring is just around the corner has given me a new motivation to shed the pounds that I've managed to gain back since my marathon. And also the fact that Joe has his 20th high school reunion this summer.

I was beyond excited to finally get to see my LO in the February issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine. Since I still can't post it, here's a little sneak peek . . . some of you may remember this LO from this past summer, CK asked if I could add a few more pictures prior to publication. I loved seeing my name so big on that page, I know that sounds crazy, but it feels good to be appreciated by someone other than my husband. Kaitie's almost as excited as I am, she can't wait to take her friends to Yoke's (our local grocery store) and show all of them that she is in print.
I never got around to sharing this card before it was picked up . . . so now you'll have to wait until the June 2009 issue of Cards hits the stands. I'm actually going to have two cards in that issue!

A New Year . . .

A NEW BEGINNING . . . that's what I'm looking forward to for the New Year. I usually have a list of resolutions, resolutions that never amount to much after just a few weeks into the new year. So this year I'm just going to focus on a couple of things rather than an entire list. I hope that I can achieve things this year that wasn't done last year . . . not sure if another marathon will be in sight for 2009 but definitely a couple of runs or even a half marathon. If this snow and ice will ever disappear I can start running again, it's been a long three weeks of nothing.

By now everyone's chosen their NEW word for the coming year . . . a word to focus on, a word to become.

Ali Edwards said . . .
"A single word can be a powerful thing."

I've chosen and am going with the word SIMPLIFY! I'm already a pretty simple person, but I plan to simplify the everyday craziness in my life, to simplify the way I look at things and to simplify how I react to them. I look forward to all the changes we're about to endure as a family, the changes I want to conquer for myself and the changes that I hope for my children as they turn another year older. I will accept the things that I cannot change which in turn will make my life simpler and that much more enjoyable.
