These aren’t your mothers or grandmother’s rhinestones anymore! Here is a workshop designed to give those cherished vintage rhinestone necklaces a complete make over, modernizing that elegance of the past. Bring collectible found objects and parts you have been gathering up, and those beautiful rhinestone necklaces handed down from generation to generation, or uncovered at an antique show, so you can transform them into a modern classics. You will disassemble these beauties, and re-attach, adding pieces of found objects and chain, working through the design like a jigsaw puzzle. The result is astonishingly beautiful, rich and eloquent, yet casual enough to wear with jeans. These are so much fun to make, you won’t believe the flexibility you have when redesigning with vintage rhinestone necklaces. Bring treasures like large old buttons, watch cases, old brooches, antique buttons, pearls, some chain, vintage pictures/tintypes, frame stampings, vintage and glass pearls, bead caps, maybe gems, whatever makes your heart beat faster! You can work almost anything in to the design. Riki likes to mix metal colors if possible with my found objects, but this is entirely up to you. The fun begins when narrowing down your selected items, then working through how to attach and where to put the objects, completely gratifying when done! Riki will be right along side, helping you with your vision. Then later throw on your jeans and wear your revitalized beauty to dinner. Dig out your buried trinkets and keepsakes, bring your diva to class, and let’s have some fun!
