i just received an email from michelle. even though im not on the worship team for YC anymore, i still get regular emails from them! and one thing that really caught me is this paragraph:

wow.

why is there tears in my eyes? I have everything that i need. I am so blessed to have wonderful friends at church and school. I have worked hard in school and am coping reasonably. But just a small thought in my mind can reverse all the good things.
Emotional control. Who doesnt have it? Who admits that they dont have it?

tomorrow's the start of uni life! i feel excited for sheares hall inter-block games. so many games to play and so little time.
i went jogging/sprinting today in the morning just to get a feel of my fitness. disappointing ): need to drink less teh ping! train up train up!!!

SWOC 10/11 was packed with awesome fun stuff. i loved everyday! the programme ic really did a great job (:

i applied what i learnt from today's sermon.. while i was feeling particularly hateful, i opened up the worship song file from today's worship and sang out the chorus of "Oh the Mercy of God" aloud.

i really felt much better, as if all the hate and anger faded away. what wonders the Holy Spirit can do to me (:

lets get the introduction started. i got into the blogger contest through emailing the maple facebook peeps my blog address, and i got selected along with Caroline to participate!
There's another folk in malaysia also doing the sneak peak. he was happily mega-ing the test server while we were trying out the evans (:for all you stalkers who want to visit the asiasoft headquarters, im not gonna tell u where or how to go, but there's an address provided in the asiasoft website! :o

there are some ground rulez i have to follow. :( rules are rules.

-we are allowed to play until 1pm, and after that we have to leave the place immediately.
so we can get booted out of the place as fast as getting kicked off the zkm squad in aquila?? GRRR!! haha sorry T.T i shall move on.

-no vulgarities/foul language
yahh, i dont use vulgarities. i can articulate myself well enough thank you.

-no photo taking outside the test room.
i assure u, there's nothing fishy going on outside in the asiasoft office. but i must say, there's lots of cute plushies on display!

Now after the ground rules, i will elaborate on what we are given during the sneak peak!

-LOTS OF MAPLE POINTS!!!! (it started out with 10 million points)

At this point i must say that i felt as happy and high as the time when i first got my genesis skill

but before that, i must warn everyone who reads beyond this point, that SPOILERS ARE UP AHEAD!

(btw, to all those who skipped my nice and lengthy introduction, its the same as eating the oreo cookie without the cookie.) => no fun!!!

I shall be talking about some of the advantages and disadvantages that i noticed through the 3 hours of gameplay. everything is totally based on my own personal opinion, and i declare that i have not read any of the commentary or guides done by anybody.
(i must admit that the techie guy ken in the testing centre did give quite alot of insights and i have been swayed to a tiny extent)

STORYLINE: FABULOUS!

I totally enjoyed the plot. I wake up as a little farmer girl with in a farm setting (minus the stinky smell from cow pee and poo). Not only do i escape from the urban reality of singapore, i also get to find my own ittle dragon called mir!
And a bonus: i get a warm family! a mom, dad, brother (utah) and a dog

not much resemblance between anna and potaaa.
a doting father that gives lots of cashy stuff. just kidding. its the 10 million maple points again. (:
i want a golden retriever or a collie. not this bulldog ):

Yes, as u can see, i love the storyline so much. i suggest to everyone who will be playing evan to read the dialogue between the characters because its really interesting and fun to read!
(and a good break from the black magician/puppeteer. ha.)

Everyone knows that having good party skills will help in bossing, training and ultimately power leveling too.

Evans have good party advantages because it has the MP recovering smoke skill. its like a smokebomb but everyone who stands inside will heal mp. The limitation is that there's a 1 minute cooldown, not like the cleric's heal which can heal heal heal heal heal heal heal heal heal ...
yet i can understand that it would be too imba to recover MP like the way the cleric heals HP.

i heard from techie ken that it can resurrect as well. i have yet to see this in my 3 hours of testing, but im sure we will discover it someday. excellent for bossing!

comparing infinity and the mp recovery smoke skill, the mp recovery has a 1 min cooldown while infinity has a 10 min cooldown. isnt that much better? (: its an advantage!


evans level really quickly in the beginning due to a few factors:
-good quests that dont require that much walking around
-first few skills have decent attack range and good damage
-able to +MA in skills lvl 10+ so dmg is higher (its like medi at such a low level!)

however, im unable to test it out at middle range levels due to limited time. (:
ultimately, how fast we level depends on whether we train smart and have the resources. i do think that players who start out with no main characters will have to scrimp and squeeze.
why?
-more equipments to buy. eq for the dragon and eq for you
-mp pots are costly. evan's skills require quite abit of mp consumption. but not like genesis or other spamming skills la.

to me, leveling speed is still an advantage here. (:


much as i like to charge up for attack, i prefer quick and multiple hits during training and bossing. why so slow mo? its better to smack the bums of the mobs before they have the chance to tumble over and knock u out.

i will to post a video to show the casting speed. or u could go to youtube and find some evan videos from maple global/korea/taiwan

casting speed a clear disadvantage here.


damage is also a letdown for me. i have high expectations for damage because this is another hero class like the aran, so i wanted almost the same or better damages!

It was not too impressive, perhaps on par with ice lit and fire mages, or maybe a little fall short. however, there is saving grace.
1. able to overcome elemental mobs
there are ice and fire attacks by the time u reach about lv 90-100 roughly. you wont be limited to killing certain types of mobs. im not too sure of holy attacks. i dont think there is?

2. able to have a really far attack range. at higher levels, evans can target and hit mobs that are further away from where the screen can show. that means its further than how bm and nl can reach!
however i was unable to try it out. i got kinda confused how to aim at certain mobs. =x but it was still really far haha.


the skills are simply FLASHY AND COOL!

let the pictures do the talking.

this skill is by far the best skill i've seen. the dragon swoops down and attacks many times.

this one is like a bull charging forward. except its a dragon.
lasers always look cool. it would look cooler if the damage was higher ): thats 13k dmg at lvl 160 without critical.

haha. these are just a few out of the many attack spells that evan has. there are SO MANY ATTACK SPELLS i couldnt do my keyboard config without getting confused which skill i was using. thats like. too much of a good thing is a bad thing.

(ps there's a fire attack which looks strangely like the fire tusks' attack) are we trying to be elephants here? they both start with E.

i have reached the end of my advantages and disadvantages. But its not OVER YET!
i love being random and slipshot, so i will post a few pictures that tickles me. just to humour myself.

dont ask me why i dress like that. i just do. with 10 million maple points, i can dress any way i want (:
maple seems to love breaking stuff. this time, its a haystack. (caroline's dragon seems impatient with breaking haystacks. maybe it wants to help)
