Little bird on his nest

Because I have worked so much lately I thought it would be good to have some time to relax. So when I saw the announcement of some workshops at our local garden center, I decided to sign in.

The first one in the row was called 'Bird on his nest' and was given last thursday.
We worked on a frame and a garland of straw, which we both had to wrap with moss-green. On top of it we placed a little bird of hay also wrapped partly with moss-green and some feathers in his tail. The garland was later filled with a few plants and on the frame where some decorations attached. When finished it was a nice garden decoration with some food for the birds.

Surprisebox!

I knew it was coming and knew most of what was in it, but it did surprise me because of all the boxfilling stuff in it! Not only Stampin'Up!, but also Quickutz, Martha Stewart and a lot of Prima Marketing flowers in every color you could think of. And it all fit in the box, can you imagine??! :)

Third tuesday in September: 'Prinsjesdag 2009'

The third tuesday in September is an important day overhere. That day our Queen Beatrix makes a ride with the Golden Carriage through The Hague (from her working palace to the house of Government). She will be accompanied by the crownprince Willem-Alexander and his wife Maxima, Princess Margriet and her husband Pieter van Vollenhove, Prins Floris and his wife Princess Laurentien. At the house of Government , she will read the 'Troonrede' which is a document with the plans of the government for the next year.

A Dutch card :-)

To thank them for all they do for me I made cards for my dear scrapfriends in the US. I used a stampset which I bought at a local store for a few euro's and look what I did with it. I combined a few different embossing techniques and am pretty surprised how it all worked out. Let me know what you think about it and leave a message on my blog :-)

Exams next two mondays

As a pedicure it is necessary to keep informed about new treatments, special care and other stuff to keep registered. Therefor I went to school the past 13 weeks to learn more about all kinds of shoes and to make adaptations for those people who's feet keep giving problems. Besides I learned how to make a prothese for people who lost one (or more) toes (mostly for people with diabetics). Tomorrow and next monday I have to make tests and defend my portfolio about 'Hallux Valgus'. So keep your fingers crossed for me and burn a candle or waxlight :-)

High School Year

Since we have been to the US a few years ago our eldest daughter is talking and thinking about going to High School after her middle school. As some of you know I have a lot of family and friends overthere, so places enough to stay for her. But.... actually she only wants to stay with the Muellers, because she can visit the same High School as Erik and Paige than ;-)

Yesterday we went to a information meeting of EF, one of the worlds largest organisations helping to realize the dreams of many schoolkids from all over the world!!!

And so far, there will not be any problems to arrange Eline's dream, we keep you posted :o)

With Sympathy....

A good friend of us lost her mother last week and I made this simple and quick card for her. I finally was able to use one of my 'Upsy Daisy' Stampin' Up! stamps and an idea I saw on a party which I participated when I visited the US last september.

My 1st Circle Journal

Hello all!

I have been a very bad blogger the past year and so much happened to my life :o)
Due to a lot of things I couldn't find the time to write, but now I really have to share something to you all.

May 2008 we started a Circle Journal with a group of 12 scrappers. Each month everybody received an album of someone else and had to make a two pages spread with the pictures found in an envelope in the album.
Last saturday we had a 'homecoming album party' at our local scrapstore. Although I really didn't have much time I succeeded to make the pages for each album just in time and I have to say that some worked out very good :-)

Look at Croptime's First Circle Journal to view the pictures of my album and the people with the pages I made for them :o)
