I got bored over the summer and wanted to re-do another table.
So I checked out all the local thrift places! Oh wait, there
are none in Delta!! I did go to Deans, but to no avail....
So I checked out ksl and much to my surprise there was
a table for sale! Just like I wanted:) I have been wanting
one with an intricate design on it and I found it! Woot!
So after looking at it for months and not doing anything about
it, I finally broke down and sanded it. It had like 3 inches of this
hardener on it that made it look absolutely terrible. And I must add,
it was a bugger to sand off. I will never ever ever buy a table that
needs that much sanding!!! Or any at all for that matter. ha. I usually
skip the sanding process and just prime, but I certainly could not on
this such project. So after a full day of sanding, my arms were shaky and
I could finally move on to the priming part, which is easy peasy.
Primed! Now on to color:) I had already done a
turquoise, red and ivory table. Not all on one table I might
add, 3 seperate tables! haha. So I needed something new...
I choose a color called Bauhaus Gold from Krylon. When I got
it on I was a bit worried because it looked more like a school bus
then a gold-ish color. Granted I wasn't going for gold, I was going
for the yellow look, I was just worried it was too much!
But after I glazed in all those nooks and crannys, it really calmed it down
and gave my house the pop of color I was going for! I am
so happy with all the detail on it! It looks sooo much better than it did before!
