Mark's Finest Papers Color Challenge 5

It's time for this week's MFP SpeedyTV Color Challenge.  This challenge  is open to all types of papercrafts, including scrapbook pages. Each week we have a color or colors that you have to incorporate in your project. and you must use stamp(s) on the project.

This week's challenge colors are Pink and Black or Brown.

My Dad is a follower of my blog and he often tells me that he really enjoys seeing what I'm doing with my mother's family heritage photos.  I know that he has heritage photos from his family, but I haven't been able to get him to part with them.  Last time he came to visit he surprized me with 2 photos and asked if I could use them for my blog.  I was so happy to get them and I'm featuring one on my layout today. The photo is of his mother and  her friends who formed  a club to make dolls to give to needy children.  They met once a month on a Thursday night to hand sew the dolls.  My grandmother is front and center in the group, 4th from the left.  My stamped image is from the MFP Huge Blooms set.

The guidelines for the color challenge are simple:
1. Use the challenge colors as your main colors.  You can use any shades or hues of the challenge colors.
2. You can add any neutral colors (browns, grays, white, cream, kraft etc.) that you wish.
3. You can use an accent color in addition to the challenge colors, but it must be an accent only and not one of the main colors.
4. You must use stamps on your project.

You can use any type of stamps you wish, but if you use Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co stamps, you will be entered twice for a chance to win our weekly stamp prize.   We start our weekly challenge every Thursday, and there's a new stamp prize each week so be sure to stop back by.

This week, one blessed winner will receive our Autumn Glory Fox stamp...

I can't wait to see what you create for this week's challenge.  To be eligible to win, be sure to link your project to MFP SpeedyTV Color Challenge 5 and mention the MFP SpeedyTV Color Challenge  in your blog post. If you use MFP stamps on your project please note that in your post as well. You have until 9:00 pm on Wednesday January 15th to link up your project.

How you like me now! ....

...is what is written at the bottom of a photo of one of my maternal grandmother's friends.  That caption is just as priceless as the photo itself.  It gives me some insight into my grandmother's personality in her younger years.  Her friend Catherine seems to be full of sass and I imagine was fun to be around.

I used a digi stamp from Daydream Designs on my layout.  It's from the Vintage Button Cards collection. Instead of just printing the button card and tucking it somewhere on my page as an embellishment,  I enlarged it and used it to frame the photo.

I am also sharing this at Word Art Wednesday: Challenge 114 - Anything Goes.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you're somewhere keeping warm!

Blessings!

For my layout I used a photo of my niece on her way to her Senior Prom.  Isn't she gorgeous!  I love the colors in her dress.  I used grey and yellow cardstock for this challenge and misted it with Heidi Swapp Chartreuse Color Shine.  I inked the edges of the yellow cardstock with green yellow Inka Gold Metallic Rub to coordinate with the green in her dress.  My  page accent is a sneak peek from the MFP Paper Doll stamp sets that will be available on January 7.  I accented my doll's dress with a ribbon skirt and rhinestone trim.  To see more of the Paper Doll sets, check out Paper Doll Madness over at MFPSpeedyTV...18 days of projects featuring the Paper Doll Stamp sets.

Mark's Finest Papers Color Challenge 3

Merry Christmas!  I just got back after spending several wonderful days celebrating Christmas with my family at my brother's home.  It is such a blessing to be able to spend holidays with family.  I didn't take tons of photos like I used to as the kids are all teenagers now and there are no toys to play with, but I do have some photos that I will share with you on layouts sometime soon.

But for now it's time for a new MFP SpeedyTV Color Challenge.  This challenge  is open to all types of papercrafts, including scrapbook pages. Each week we have a color or colors that you have to incorporate in your project. and you must use stamp(s) on the project.  This week's challenge colors are Purple and Gold.

For my layout I used a photo of our good friends at their 50th wedding anniversary celebration.  They renewed their vows and the colors were purple and gold so this photo was perfect for today's challenge.  I framed the page and gave it to them for Christmas.  I used the "Blessings" stamp from the MFP Lots of Words set.
