"MisDirection" pattern giveaway (now closed)

Last year, I tested the "MisDirection" pattern by Jess @The Elven Garden. Jess' stunning quilt was featured in the Quilt Con 2015 magazine and also won 3rd place in the "Use of Negative Space" category at the Modern Quilt Show Australia. 

Jess has now released the "MisDirection" pattern which can be purchased from her craftsy shop or from payhip, so please stop by her blog to see all of other amazing versions by her team of pattern testers!  .

Jess has also very kindly offered a PDF copy of her "MisDirection" pattern to giveaway so if you would like to win, please leave a comment here  - maybe tell me what colours you would use to make this quilt. You can also gain another entry by commenting on my Instagram post (@67kirsten).

"Star Jump"

A few months ago, Jess @ Elven Garden Quilts put out a call for pattern testers and now that she has released her wonderful "Star Jump" pattern, I can show the finished quilt I made.

I used some of the Denyse Schmidt Picadilly fabrics with a coordinating deep blue solid for the background.

The FQ friendly pattern is written for 3 sizes - baby, lap and Queen size. 

I made the "baby size" and it was a fairly quick pattern to put together as the blocks are quite large at 24" x 24".

This was quilted by doing some straight line quilting through each of the smaller blocks which form the Irish chain element of the pattern.

Once again I used the Ikea numbers fabrics for the back ...

 And bound it in one of the plaid prints from the DS Quilts Picadilly collection.

Firstly, sorry this is a little late ! I wanted to have something made for the Sew Mama Sew giveaway but it just isn't going to happen in time so I thought I'd offer a FQ bundle of seasonal fabrics instead.

There are 5 prints including Matroyska dolls, chickens and snowflakes in red and green on a natural background which would be perfect for Christmas crafts. And also a cute little notebook to jot down your ideas.

I used fabrics from Denyse Schmidts "Daisy Mae" range from both here in Australia and the US releases to make this 20" pillow cover.

And quilted it in a groovy orange thread...........
