Here are just a few things that have been said as of late:
Rook: Mom, I am freezing and my head really hurts.
Mom: Why does your head hurt?
Rook: Because I slid down the hill and hit into a kid and then I punched bbthe snow into my eye, because I almost got surgery for my brain...butt I didn't because that costs too much money.
Mom: Well I am glad that you didn't get surgery.
Rook: Because you want me to die?
Mom: No I don't want you to die I love you.

Then he walks off pondering what has been said and I hear from down stairs Cannon crying.
Mom: Cannon why are you crying?
Cannon: Rookie said he is your bestest boy and you love him and NOT me.


We were riding in the van to go to scouts and I stopped at a friends house to drop some things off. Rook and Cannon are begging to go in and play.
Jett: Rook have you made friends with ace?
Rook: yea, I play with him all the time.
Jett: You are so lucky, you have ALL the social skills!
Rook: (laughing) yea and then ace tells me Im gonna kick you in the nuts!
Jett: that isn't social skills, that is karate!

Getting ready to go see Gary at work, it was lots of fun.
We got WAY too much candy, we had a ward party and people brought candy to hand out to the kids. At the end Wynn went around and told people that he would take what ever was left over ...and they would dump the HOLE bowl of candy into his bag. So yea, we have a ton.

If you are not one of our neighbors you might not know that we LIKE spiders. Cannon LOVES them, and everyone likes them. I even do. I like to watch this big one that camps out by our back door light. It is fun to watch all the bugs it catches and watch it tear down and build back up its web. We found out that it is an orb weaver, and spins those pretty webs. This one is not so pretty as it is filled with all those little affeds, which I am glad are stuck there and not in my house.

This guy, ducks in and out of the forest every so often. Since we live by the dumpster we see a lot of them. They are interesting and can get pretty dang big. I definatly would walk the other way if I saw one.

I am pretty sure a freakin squirrel did this and the only thing I have to say about them is I sure wish I had a 22 and I wish I was a good aim. Dirty buggers!


This should be a different post all together, Rook and Cannon love to pull faces and on this day Rook's little friend Matt got into the action. I ended up taking at least 20 pics of them pulling crazy faces.

And in this one, I ask the question, who's pink little baby is that? I look at Rook and Cannon and their nice tan skin and cooler pigment and think, that would be nice to look like that after a day in the sun. Then I look at Crew and am reminded how it would end up for me. He hasn't even been in the sun, he is just fussing a little and he goes bright pink. I guess I should be glad that he gets something from me.

Crew coming right at ya

Crew is getting so big, here he is walking all over the place and getting into everything, he is so cute, he is talking and saying all sorts of cute things like what and no and hi. Ok the no isn't cute butt still a word he says REALLY well. His hair has lightened up a little butt still is red red and I love it! We all just love him, his brothers can't seem to keep their hands off of him and he is REALLY patient with them, I think he can't wait til he is big enough to hold them off, for now he will settle for being the fastest crawler I have ever seen!

These are just some of the pics of our old place we lived in, Rook and Cannon love seeing them and always say, I don't remember that. I say, because you didn't live there, they can't wrap their minds around the fact that they weren't always with us. We are glad that they are now, butt here are a few pics of before the time of Rook, Cannon and Crew!

3 amigos

For as different as these boys are, they all have one thing in common, they LOVE to get their pictures taken. They were all up and going and talking about having their pictures taken. So I took the camera out and we took several pictures. Wynn is working on his "blue steel" look. While Rook and Cannon are still stuck on "magnum".

Cannon and Rook

Cannon and Rook love to see pics of themselves, so I gathered up a few of my favs and thought I would share them with everyone else. Cannon and Rook are so much fun. Cannon is a ball of fire and rides a two wheelor ever since he was three and hasn't slowed down a bit. He is my friendly one and a little more outgoing. He also has a temper to match his personality of fire. He has always been a little bigger than Rook and often tells Rookie that he is the older one and therefore, the right one.

Just because Rook is the smaller of the two don't think for one minute that he is at all picked on or one to back down. He is very, very, very sweet, butt he is also very, very, very, stubborn and head strong. He is quick witted and is obsessed with body parts and their function and their reason for looking the way they do. What they are made of, etc. He is an instigator for sure, butt also sweet like I said and so funny. He asked Gar the other day, Why doesn't Jesus have a car?


Cannon loves to ride in his dad's car and often tells me we should get another one so we have three cars cuz that would be awsome. He said to me the other day, mom is our van a hotrod? and I said, our van WANTS to be a hotrod. And he said to that...Maybe you should pray about it.

They both have little neighbor girlfriends that they are going to marry, both tend to be a little bossy and they constantly have the discussion about who's girlfriend is the one that they should be listening to.

They love their primary teachers. Rookies teacher came over for a haircut the other day and after she left he asked me if she was going to come and play with him. I said she was getting a hair cut, butt we could walk over and see her sometime. He said to me, yea, we should cuz I miss her.

Cannon and Rook LOVE Crew, they think he is the sha-zizzle. There isn't anything he does that they arn't amazed at. They tell me all the things they are going to teach him. (I can't wait of course) And all the things he is going to do when he is bigger.

Cannon and Rook love to sing and I can often hear them singing some words in the star wars tune. They also love to dance and show off.

Rook and Cannon are awsome and I love to hear all their logic and even though at times they are my most challanging boys. I am so glad that they are here. We think they ROCK!

Kansas City

We recently went on a weekend trip to Kansas City to meet my brother and his family as they were traveling through. I know some earlier pictures of the same trip have been posted, but I thought these pictures couldn't be left out.

This first picture is a group shot in front of the world-famous Jack Stack BBQ in downtown KC. Jack Stack was pretty good, but I actually prefer Famous Dave's. I'm sure that everybody thought, 2 kids for every 1 adult? What is your problem? Oh well, the restaurant staff was great and very accommodating.


We also went and visited the Independence history sites. This is a group picture in front of the Church of Christ temple, which anybody can enter and join in a daily prayer for peace. We went in the reception area with all the kids. It echoes inside. That combination equaled some dirty looks from the "security" guard so we left. Whatever.


As taught by Joseph Smith, we know that Jackson County is where the Garden of Eden once was. And in the Garden of Eden was the home of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. As stated in Genesis, "And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat." Genesis 3:6. Well, Wynn did a little reenactment of the "and he did eat" part for me. Doesn't this look like an Adam doing what he had to do?

latest storm

Here on the tip of tornado alley we get some really great storms. These are pics of the one that hit in Kearney Ne which is only about 3 hours away from here. We have been very blessed to never have one close enough to do any damage to US personally, butt they happen all the time right around the corner. We usually get hail and lots of rain and floods. Great thunderstorms and lightning. I love the Midwest. Living here you get used to it. I remember the first Saturday I was here. Gary was still in Idaho and the siren went off, I ran and grabbed Jett and Wynn and went to the basement and stayed down there, trying to find out what was going on from the news and they never said anything about it. Then I finally got brave enough to venture out and saw a neighbor and nonchalantly asked about the siren. She told me that it was a test. Every Saturday at ten they do it. Oh, OK. Then I let the boys out of the basement and let them play outside again. Now When the tornado sirens go off instead of going to our basement we usually go out, along with all our neighbors and look at the Sky's looking for a funnel.

Man, they start young...Here she is whispering sweet nothings into his ear...and he takes the bait! and all is well....





Until the one second he stops giving her attention she quickly moves to the next guy that will give her what she wants...Is Rook going to stand by and let it go down that way...

IN these pics are Rook and Cannon of course, butt also our cute little niece Elle. She was oblivious to the fact that she was the only girl, I think she loved the attention. It was funny how Rook seriously "claimed" her and as soon as everyone stopped looking his arm was around her, or he was telling her to hold his hand, butt the minute we tried to take pics, he was embarrassed and stopped...until she hugged Cannon and then he didn't care who looked. It was really cute.

A Day at the Zoo

We went to the zoo a little while ago and I thought after reading my friends post I should post myself. Here are a few things we did...ok, the kids did. They walked and walked and walked and begged for food and drinks and whined because it was so hot and I wasn't carrying anyone...oh wait, here is what we did according to them. We rode the carasol, we saw the fish, we ran in the fish aquarium and mom said no running. We played with sticks...oh, those aren't sticks those are wands. Wynn did a little smooth talk with Katelyn our neighbor. We saw the dang monkeys (rook said that one) and they licked us. Jett was explaining to Katelyn, same neighbor, how the buns on the gorilla don't compair anything to his dad's buns of steel. Crew smiled a lot, and even slept. Mom got to be in a pic with Wynn and Cannon. Jett giving Katelyn rabbit ears, because that is what boys do when they like you. Rook saw a boy without a shirt and suddenly became so hot he needed to tear his off. Oh yea that one of Crew and Gar are from a baseball game the other night. I thought it was funny that he looked like a little troll doll. So there you have it. We went to the zoo with our Friends the Olversons and those are the pics.
