holy cow it's early
So it's 05.34 and I'm getting up . . . can you believe it?!?!?! I can't, luckily the sun is already up as well so that helps make it feel less early, but I'm bloody knackered. Just wanted to say one last quick goodbye, I'm gonna jump in the shower, double check I have everything I need (if not I'll just buy it when we need it - in what Jim & I joke "half price America" since the GB£ is so strong to the US$ at the mo :)
Toodle-pip!
missing party found
So as some of you know, I'd "lost" Jim today - his phone broke & I didn't have their home number & Rob was at the pub getting drunk (as per normal). I was getting a bit worried seeing as it was 11.30pm & no word from him especially since our flights at 12.30, meaning be at the airport at 9.30 (3 hours on UK to US flights now with the extra security) which means leaving Kings Cross station at 8.10, which means getting the train from New Southgate (right near Jim's house) at 7.52, soooooo after finally reaching him (he would speak into the phone & I'd type on instant messenger since he's deaf) and a bit of debate I'm going to be at his place at 7am to have breakfast (aka make sure his lazy arse is up) and we'll be on our way . . . "leaving on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again" Thank goodness I'm excited for this trip or I'd be in MAJOR trouble getting up even earlier than I do for work!!!!!
See ya'll on the flip side :) I'm off to get some kip
the last of the count down
24 hours from now Jim & I will be getting on a plane to head to the states - YEAH!!!!!!!!!!! Poor guy can't seem to get a break recently!! He sent me an email last night to tell me he's got an ear infection, but luckily was able to go into A&E (Accident & Emergency, the UK's speak for ER) and get seen by a doctor who gave him antibiotics, so by tomorrow he should be good to go (fingers crossed)
Went out last night with Jaiden and Rob - was out later than I'd wanted, but it was good fun. Tonight Gen & Louise are coming round mine for dinner, that way I can multi-task, ya know have me clothes in the washing machine, prepare dinner, hang out with me mates, and clean the kitchen (as it's my week on the rota for cleaning), oh yeah and PACK!! But
anyone who knows me KNOWS I never pack ahead of time!!
Laters, xx (I mean toodle-pip, just for Susan)

Zee4 things that should go into room 101 and be removed from the face of the earth:
- Cheaters of all sorts, from answers to a spelling test to cheating on a partner to cheating on your taxes, all of them should go to room 101
- Liars of all sorts, not only to better themselves, but to hurt others!
- Judgemental persons, who have no good reason for disliking people with "differences" or "change" - come on, move with the times for goodness sakes!
- Rapists, murderers, and child molesters - need I say anymore?
3 things people do that make you want to shake them violently:- Indecisiveness - I'm patient to a point, but for goodness sakes, if you switch your order more than once while ordering food I get a bit crazed!
- Righteousness - thinking their work and life is more important than anything or anyone else, their lack of ability to be generous.
- Deafness - not real hearing loss, but those people who sit & pretend to listen to you, but in all honesty can't be bothered to give you their time to really listen to what you are saying.
2 things you find yourself moaning about:- The weather - I know I know I'm turning into a proper Brit!
- Tourists - this time of year is rather hard on those of us who are traveling to & from work when we seem to be overwhelmed with tourists who don't know where their going & take up lots of room on the trains, buses, tubes, and sidewalks!!
1 thing the above answers tell you about yourself:- I am way too judgemental about others - I sound like a righteous bitch after reading it all, but the point was to moan right? I think I did a ruddy good job then :)

Be as honest as possible, This is about letting people get to know the real you!
Try not to insult anyone - unless they really deserve it or are very, very ugly!

not bloggy
I haven't been in the mood to post anything, maybe that's because I'm still feeling a bit sick (better but not great yet) and that work is a bit busy or maybe I'm not in the mood to pick a topic to rant about, or maybe I'm just not in the mood, who knows . . . so don't fret if you don't see new posts this week, I'm fine, just busy with other stuff, in the mean time you can see my gorgeous "nieces and nephew"
right here aren't they just the cutest things - can't wait to see them in 3 weeks :)
icky-sicky
I think my fever is finally breaking & I'm off to sleep (again) that's all I've been doing since Sunday evening, if it's true that my fever is breaking I'm hoping I can make it to work tomorrow, this is one of the first time I've not been bored of being sick b/c I've literally slept through both days!!
In sad news today I heard from Jim & his grandmother passed away on Sunday and in case that's not bad enough to have to deal with just having started your holiday, his mum had a heart attack at home & he had to do CPR to keep her alive until the medics arrived. As you can guess when he called today he was out of sorts - just kept saying, "Ra, I've done CPR a 100 times, but when it's your mum, it's just your mum" followed by a few sobs (don't tell him I told you that) and then, "Ra you have no clue what it's like to keep your mum alive" to which of course I had no response, since luckily for me, he's right, I've never had to do anything like that. By the end of the conversation I had him laughing a bit & he said he would call if he wanted to talk (not bloody likely seeing as he is a guy and all) So if you have a few extra seconds if you could say a prayer for Jim & his family tonight that would be wonderful.

There are many things to remember today in my mind. The bombings of 2 years ago, Rifkin's birth date, and of course since I'm obsessed with sevens and the date is 07/07/07 I think it must be a good day for me!! Not sure what I'm going to do today, but I'll let ya know later.

July 4th in review
So as you've guessed or know by now there were no fireworks to be seen in London last night, but I did have a great day!
Rob & I met up after work and went to an "
Ed's Diner" where the theme is a 50s American diner - we each had a burger with fries & a coke. Food was pretty good (ya know for diner food). After that we jumped on the tube up to Camden where we met up with Jim at the pub. My co-worker Karen joined us for a few hours as well. I had not intended on staying out late, but just got talking, laughing & ended up getting home at 2am!! Had a bit of a lie in this morning & came to work at 10am, since I didn't have anything that couldn't wait.
Tomorrow night I'm meeting up with my dear friend Betty's brother & sister-in-law Billy & Lee, we're going to have dinner at
Oscar's on Charlotte Street. After a nice dinner we're going to see Spamalot - YEAH!!!!
Today
To check out our crazy London weather,
look here these were all taken last night around 5pm (just before I left to meet up with Louise for dinner, it was CRAZY!!!!

My friend Linda over at
Brain-Cheese needs some opinions about a design, if you've got time could you pop over
here & let her know what you think, cheers!!
Good news for those of us making in pounds and visiting the USA this summer, "
The pound has edged ahead to a new 26-year high against the US dollar . . . one pound touched $2.0181" Of course for those of you considering coming to visit me you won't really want to hear about this, but it's just a fact of life I guess.
My House
Happy July, I'm still in shock that it's July already, feels like just last month I was out visiting my mum for Christmas and a few weeks ago I was moving here, but that's over 3 months ago now . . . time flies when you're having fun, right?!?!?!?
Long over due photos of where I live . . .

I can't take any nice shots of the outside & all the pics look sorta dark, but that's cause it's been raining for over a week!!
Just wanted to say a quick Thank You to all of you who sent concerned messages, yes there were 2 car bomb scares in central London on Thursday and yesterday a flaming jeep did drive into the Glasgow (Scotland) airport, but I'm safe & sound.
To ease some of your concerns, I am not worried about taking public transport and my daily life goes on without change. I admit I do spend a few extra seconds looking at the people who sit near me on the buses and tubes, but only twice in the 2 years I've been here since the bombings of 7/7/05 have I gotten off a tube because of feeling "weird" about another passenger. I guess it is a threat that we all sort of just live with on a daily basis, as do many other around the world.
The bigger worry to me is that it may never stop raining, the temps may never get above 65F, and I may never see real summer weather this year. It's been cold & rainy for over a week straight now, albeit we did have 3 hours (not consecutive) of sun on Friday while I was at the zoo with my co-workers, but I did just looked at the weather & apparently we could have "sunny intervals" today, which is really exciting!! Course the rest of the week is rain, but sun on a weekend would be fantastic!!
