Tonight I Gotta Cut Loose....

Also in July, my Grammie and her husband Pat came to visit us from Arizona.
We ate at Paula's, a delicious Mexican restaurant
and then went to Tuacahn and saw Footloose. The songs were excellent, the scenery was beautiful, and the actors did a fantastic job! Thanks Gram and Pat for such a fun date night! We love you!!

Michele+Kenny

In July we went to Fresno for a wedding with Adam and Jenn for the weekend to visit the Cali fam, aka the McWilliams.
Michele got married to her sweetheart Kenny, and it was so fun to be able to go to the temple with them on their special day! There are 5 girls in the fam, and Adam and Greg have been adopted as the brothers!! Don and Debbie...aka Cali-mom... are absolute riots!

We did parafin waxing on our hands, swam in their gorgeous pool, talked, laughed, ate delicious food and had a blast! We can't wait to go back to visit!
Greg even got in on the paraffin action! I loved it because my hands are always freezing, and the warm wax felt wonderful!

Emily worked at a thrift store and would buy random treasures. Yes, that baby doll head is one of her sweet finds! She played a prank on Adam and set it up outside of the window on a pile of books with a flashlight shining on it....I'm not so sure he was that scared! I love this picture! Emily is seriously 4 foot nothing and Greg is 6'4"!! She looks so tiny compared to him!
Michele's hair appointment took a little longer than planned, therefore Jenn and I became professional back seat make-up artists! The funniest part of the whole car ride to the temple were the three boys who were in the last row being squished while us girls had plenty of room!
TIP: If you're in the car and don't have a sink to tap your make-up brush into, simply roll down the window and hang on tight!

Looking good!

The happy couple before heading into the Fresno temple to be sealed for time and all eternity!CONGRATS! Thanks for inviting us to such a beautiful wedding!

Kristin couponing?!?!

YES it's true...I have started couponing!
And can I tell you...I LOVE it! It is so much fun and it's even more fun to see how much money I save! I've seen these pictures on people's blogs and always thought it was crazy that
ALL of the items only cost them $50.
Yep, that's how much I spent for everything shown! I'll try to post more pictures of the sweet deals that I get for stocking up my food storage!

Here's what I got:

-3 boxes Cheerios
-3 Wishbone dressings
-3 Whishbone spritzers
-3 RAGU pasta sauces
-3 Frosted Mini wheats
-2 Ken's salad dressing
-1 box Golden Grahams
-2 boxes Cocoa Puffs

I'm hooked! I love getting my papers on Sunday to see what coupons there are for the weekly sales! It's so much fun! If anyone has ever thought about using coupons, I suggest doing it! I used to be a skeptic, but I've found it's so easy and fun to do!!!

Flooring and Family!

My parents came down for a few days to help us with the house...and boy were they great helpers! Both my mom and dad helped paint in the kitchen.
My dad and Greg started on the new wood flooring!
My hot mama putting the outlet covers back on.
And our good friend Scott laid the carpet for us!
We hope to move our stuff over in the next couple weeks!
Thanks to my amazing parents for all of their help! They are both so supportive of Greg and I and couldn't be happier for this new adventure of owning a home! I love them so incredibly much and am grateful to have them as my mom and dad!
Judy, Greg's mom came down for a few days to help, but we hadn't gotten the keys yet so she wasn't able to. Thanks Judy and Kirk for also being excited and willing to help out!
We LOVE you all!

The Crew...part 2

More of our wonderful house helpers!

(I stole this pic from Marci's blog...they even came over to the house after they'd been working out at the gym! Thanks you two!)

Marci- Marci and I have been friends for 11 years now! (THanks Marc for correcting me! I didn't try to figure out the years...just made a guess! haha) We were roommates down here, and also married friends! I have loved being able to live near Matt & Marci. Marci came over on her birthday and helped me paint doorjams! What a fun way to spend your birthday! Thanks! She and Matt also came over when I was at work and helped rip up the hardwood and take off light covers. Greg didn't have the camera when Matt was there helping...so we'll have to get a picture of him another time! Thanks so much Marc for all your help! And hope you had a fun birthday!!! Love ya Lindsey & Brittney- Linds is my awesome sister in law and Britt is my awesome cousin-in law. THey came over and helped us prime the kitchen. And oh yes, they used tiny 2 inch crappy paint brushes to do it! No roller for them! It's been super fun living in the same complex with all the fam. We will definately miss having them literally 6 steps from our door. Thanks girls for your help! Love you both!

Sarah- This is my other awesome sister in law who lives below us. When I married Greg I got extremely lucky with the 4 new sisters that came along with him! Since Sarah lives so close, we've had lots of great chats about all the fun things in life...boys mainly! She was such a champ for rolling this room.....because I've decided I'm not the biggest fan of rolling! Thanks Sar..love ya!

I did all the trim around the doorjams and ceiling. SOOOO glad all that is over with! Maybe I'm just not the biggest fan of painting, period!

By the end of the day, we're tired and looking lovely, but we are happy and healthy and grateful that we are able to fix up our own house! It has been such a great experience and has brought us closer in our marriage!

Best Buddies!
(Also borrowed from Marci! THanks!)

The carpet gets laid tomorrow, so more to come of the AFTER shots as well as more helpers....

It's Finally OURS!

On June 2nd we got the great news that
our house finally closed
and we are now homeowners!
We were anxious to begin ripping out the old carpet and flooring to start painting!

You'll notice the color theme of blue found in all of the rooms...hence the excitement for new paint!

Master Bedroom and Bathroom

The second and third bedrooms that are upstairs...yes...each with their own shade of blue.

This is the the hallway at the end of the bedrooms heading back to the living room and kitchen as well as the stairs for the basement.

Laundry room out to the garage. I'm super excited for the counter space and lots of cabinets! There is also a linen closet behind the door on the left! So many closets...love it!

Hallway bathroom...with a tub behind the door...can't see very well from the picture!

When you first walked through the front door this bright red wall was there to meet you! To the right is the hallway back to the bedrooms and straight back is the kitchen. The right side is the kitchen and to the left of this wall is the dining room...it just makes a loop.

The front room and hallway had hardwood in it and the kitchen had a lovely tan and green linoleum that matched the paint...so instead of trying to match hardwood, we ripped everything out and we'll put new hardwood everywhere upstairs. Except for the three rooms that will be carpet and the bathrooms tile.

THE CREW...aka our amazing friends and family!

Greg-the foreman. Admiring his work! I am so lucky to have a hubby who knows how to do all this home repair stuff! He is really good at what he does and he was also good at giving out our assignments and keeping us working! After 3 days of being at the house all day I was pretty tired every night...and then I would have to stop and think how Greg must be feeling after doing it all day for work and still having enthusiasm for coming to work on our house! Greg is so positive wherever he is...that's just one of the many reasons why I love him!

Adam-He too is admiring his work...or trying to pose like a model?! Adam and Greg have been friends since high school and both have stayed here in St. George after moving down here together 3 years ago...where they both met and married awesome girls! haha. Thanks Adam for the hours you've spent with us...I'm sure there's plenty more to come if you're up for it!

Jenn, Adam's cute wife! Thanks Jenn for painting the master ceiling...and without even complaining! So after doing the master, Jenn says she didnn't want to do the ceiling anymore...and I don't blame her cause after I started in one room, I was saying how hard it was after two rows! Such a trooper! It's been fun having Adam and Jenn here in St. George to play with!

Such teamwork!

No Adam...that wall doesn't get that color...it's the accent wall!
(this might only be funny to those of us who were there!)

Proof that I didn't just take pictures! I painted all of the trim around the doors...and I never realized how much wood really makes up a doorjam until I started painting them!

There are lots more friends and family to post about, but this has already gotten a bit long, so I'll do that next time!

We started last Wednesday, and already we've gotten all the baseboards, carpet, hardwood and linoleum ripped up. Greg has started putting in the new hardwood floor, the ceiling is now sparkling white, the trim and door jams have a fresh coat of "Coconut Milk" on them, and the main color for the house has been applied twice! More pictures to come!
