And a little message KJ&C did in 2010 that applies each & every year:

On May 31st, 2010, I created a youtube channel for Keegan, Josh & Connolly to help keep track of the many videos we have taken of them over the years. As of this morning, November 27th, 2012, the 'Triplet Travels' youtube channel has had 100,000+ video views. Most of the views are by lovers of all things Disney, particularly of Jake & the Neverland Pirates, and Directioners who love to watch KJ&C dance/sing along with One Direction. I certainly never expected when setting up the youtube account that it would garner any significant number of views outside of family and friends, so this is pretty awesome.

School, Work, Hockey, Sleep...Repeat!

Yikes! We're 27 days away from Christmas 2012 (24 days away from our trip to Mexico) and we haven't updated the blog since September!!  Guess it's time for a few photos to update you on what's happened since Grade 2 and hockey season started.

The last time we left you, Keegan, Josh & Connolly were in the middle of hockey evaluations to determine what Novice teams they would end up on for the 2012-2013 season.  After it was all said and done, what we half expected but weren't hoping for happened.  Three. Separate. Teams!
  • Joshua made Division 2 and is a member of the Scorpions.
  • Keegan made Division 3 and is a member of the Zombies.
  • Connolly made Division 7 and is a member of the Lightning.
They are all very happy with where they ended up, as are we...despite being run off our feet weekly. Their coaches are great and perfectly suited to each of them individually. The biggest adjustment for KJ&C and for  Steve and I as well has been that, in Josh's words 'we don't do hockey as a family anymore'.

For the first two years in Timbits, with the boys being on the same team, we were all up at 5am for a 6am ice-time; we would all spend the weekend at one rink for a tournament; we would travel & stay as a family in a hotel during an out-of-town tournament. This year is not like that.

So far, Josh has been to Canal Flats, BC for a tournament. Steve took him while I stayed home with Connolly and Keegan as they both had seeding round games, practices and Keegan was in a tournament 10 minutes down the road.  Thanks to Mama Trish and Papa Se being very helpful, we have maintained our sanity so far. Mama Sherry and Papa Dennis were also just here and spent a week driving back & forth to practices & games as well.  Our fellow hockey parents have been god-sends too in offering to help get the boys to practices/games whenever we need it.

That's the hockey update. School is going great for all three boys.  They also in separate classes this year and are really enjoying it. We have met with their teachers once and are very happy with how things are going so far. They still have their few mutual friends but each of the boys is really starting to branch out and make their own friends, get solo birthday invites and go on their own play dates with friends. Yet they never forget they always have each other.

It's been a very hectic few months since school and  hockey started, so no doubt we are counting down the sleeps to our 2-week holiday to Mexico. I think even Keegan, Josh & Connolly, who seem to have limitless energy are excited for the break as well.

First year Novice

Keegan, Joshua & Connolly have begun the evaluations for their first year of Novice. Right now, each of the boys is in a different group based on how fast they skated in the time trial evaluation (video below).  They've each had one skills evaluation so far and this weekend will begin a 4-game process which will ultimately determine which team they are placed on for the season.

In the last 7 days, we've already sat through 6 ice-times with 6 more (could drop to 5!) coming this weekend. If the boys end up on separate teams for the season, it's going to be a busy one! But we'll let the pucks fall where they may and go with the flow.  And set-up a car-pool ;)

Summer Time Catch-Up - Part II

Our last post on July 19th was a catch-up post as it had been a busy summer to that point. Well, summer didn't get any less busy as here we are with another catch-up post almost two months later.  The summer activities are over, Keegan, Josh & Connolly are back to school and hockey season is about to begin again.

The busy-ness  never really ends!
We've included a few photos below and to see all the summer fun we've had, go to the following links:

May Long Weekend Fun

As a surprise for the boys 7th birthday and Steve's 40th, Mama Sherry & Papa Dennis brought along Laurel, Ashley, Heather, Auntie Keltie & Uncle Michael for their visit on the May long weekend. It was a non-stop weekend as we partied at Chuck E Cheese, did a day trip out to Banff and braved the season opening day at Calaway Park.
