Weekly Book Wrap Up

Image
Ship of Destiny by Robin Hobb My rating: 3 of 5 stars 3.5 stars This book is so, so long lol It does wrap everything written in the previous books, but its so long and wordy. I do like how the ships developed and the conflicts they internally had over their identity and of course the arrogant dragon, but once again very long lol. Did I end up caring for any of the characters now that I have finished the series? Besides the fate of the serpents and the ships, not really. The ships I did find really interesting, alive ships that can think and remember is a neat idea that could come in handy on the water. Did I mention this is really long? Left Handed Sketches #172 & #173

Image
(#172) An Osprey, there are a few not too far from here but haven't tried to go see them since its probably a lucky day if you happen to see one. (#173) Another Hornbill, no idea what kind tho. I can tell if a bird is a Hornbill, but there are so many of them, I wouldn't be able to make a positive ID, I'm not a twitcher .

Falcon #5

Started on the feathers, wanted to get more done but my hand started to go numb. And its very hard to hold a sharp point thing without stabbing yourself in the hand, so had to stop. Hopefully I get more done tomorrow.

Touch of Red

Image
(left handed sketch #170) A Rose-breasted grosbeak with a very red spot on his chest so  had to get the coloured pens out for it. (left handed sketch #171)  This is an odd looking duck, a Spectacled eider . Neat looking but still odd looking. Looks like he has a mask on his nose.

Scribble Picnic-Flower bed

Image
RedBubble Store Zazzle Store This weeks theme for Scribble Picnic is Flower bed . I couldn't think of anything other then a flower pot so not really a flower bed lol, so a bit of a cheat.  I used Painter for this with one of the oil brushes with my tablet. I just wanted a very quick loose piece, with pretty much no detail to it. And I wanted to start using my tablet again so just wanted to get use to how the pen reacts and works with the workstation. You can see the texture created with the digital program.
