99.9% finished lol Just needs shading now, and then onto a smaller one lol Thinking a little Robin probably, less big feathers to etch :p

I think this is probably the longest I have worked on an etching so far. Even the big A3 ones I did for college didn't take this long to do.Still needs some shading once the tail feathers are done, so maybe finished tomorrow?

Me at...almost brand new?? You can see my extra little finger on my hand here, doesn't look like much but it left a pretty long scar.

More printmaking, lino this time. I need to practice more with lino, but I really like craving the images :) practice makes perfect and of that :p Eventually I will figure out reduction printing lol

Day 2 of posting 3 pieces of art for 5 days, nominated by Ann . Coloured pencil work today :)

Ann has nominated me on Facebook to post 3 pieces of art for 5 days, so thought might as well make the post into a blog post. Supposed to nominate another person to play along, but I really can't figure out who hasn't done this yet or who would want to. Will have to have a think about it. Decided to start with posting 3 etchings :) lol all the birds are facing to the left :p

No date on this one. Me and M-Head again. See, you can clearly see he has an M on his head :p And if anyone tells you cats can't be trained, think again. Mom taught him to shake a paw, think she said she was bored that day :p

Yay! The end is in sight lol Probably wont be finished tomorrow, but I can live in hope :p

So for our self portrait we didn't actually have to do one of ourselves, we could do a favourite/memorable place or an object that represents ourselves. This is/was down by a dock near Dads, Lake Erie a few minutes walk from his house. I say was, since a dam burst a few years ago, wrecked a lot of the area, not too mention there was a lot of fish laying around, so have no idea what it really looks like now. Shiny from the varnish to try to protect the paint, not this shiny in person lol

The rest of that empty space is supposed to have fluffy fur in it.The challenge is, can I make it look like soft fur but also wiry at the same time, since the fur in that area is pretty thick but probably should still look soft. Challenge excepted, and if I mess up I will just cut this finished part off. :p

There are things I like about it, and things I don't, but I'm not very good at self portraits, so over all I am happy with it. It looks like a bad school photo lol Probably should have done it bigger, but I thought A3 would be big enough. I find it hard to get any detail with pastels when working this size so went with a very loose look. This is attempt #3 for the portrait, I could maybe try to get another one done, but besides being due Monday, I'm sick of drawing myself :p

The back says I am 8/9 and I have a mullet :p and a tan lol I never have a tan now, I turn into a lobster with any sun .

To give my wrists a break from etching, I went back to colouring the tiger I started a month ago. Thought I might get it done before I go back to Uni on Monday, but not looking likely. Should have worked smaller :p

This is the stage where I should really start thinking of putting in the background, but I think the bird is pretty busy to look at as it is, and a background might be too much to look at. I think the next one I will put a background in but might pick a simpler subject for it.

I might actually get this done before I have to go back to uni lol Really need to start building that press I keep saying I am going to. meh who am I kidding? The press John is going to build :p

Says '83 on the back, but not really sure. This is apparently at one of dad's brothers wedding, and one of the few times I have seen dad in a suit lol Socks with a dress??

In an effort to try to lighten this piece, I start the back feathers today. I think that after I add shading to the whole piece it will all come together properly. At the moment the light is looking a little odd.

Plexi-glass dust is really itchy when your arms get covered in it :p Going to have to ignore the wing for the moment and focus more on the back feathers to try to turn around how dark this looks right now. And really itching to start a different etching,  and it might not be a bird next time...meh who am I kidding? It will probably be a bird lol

Took a break from art today, but this is where the tiger is at the moment. Need to darken the right side of the muzzle more and probably go back and add some more yellow to the eyes, but will wait to do that until its closer to being finished. Next coloured pencil drawing should be Sky, just need to go through the thousands of photos we have taken to find the ones that will work the best for drawing.

Me with dad's parents. Now I didn't even know this photo existed and didn't know my grandfathers on either side, as both died when I was around 3/4?  I don't even know if dad remembers this photo. Will have to send him a copy along with the ones of his brother I know he doesn't have copies of. I think dad def. looks like his mom. His dad had webbed feet, and was in the Navy :p I have been trying to make a blanket with that crochet pattern in the back but can't figure out the pattern :p
