Talking about Borja Gonzalez, nicknamed Bastón, striker from Atlético de Madrid, is talking about goals. And a fair ammount of them. Born 25 August 1992 in Madrid, he has played for Atletico since age 8 all the way until he made his first-team debut in May of 2010. Being compared several times to el "niño" Fernando Torres, this elegant striker finished third in the U-17 world cup along with his spanish team, having scored 5 goals. Unfortunately at age 18 he seems to be suffering from a momentary bad luck moment: Twenty minutes after his debute, he was stretchered off with a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury on his left knee, in an eventual 0–3 home loss. Will luck and hard work help us to hear more about this football promise? |

Alphonse Areola - France's future nº1 ?
Alphonse Areola | |||||||||||||
Birth: | 27/02/1993 | ||||||||||||
from: | Paris | ||||||||||||
Nationality: | France | ||||||||||||
Height: | 190 cm. | ||||||||||||
Playing position: | Goal keeper |
A member of the U-14 PSG’s Team during the 2007/2008, Alfonso enjoyed a stunning season with one draw and 23 wins in the championship, a title winner of the National Cup for U-14 years, and a quarter-finalist in the Manchester United Premier Cup, the unofficial world club competition forU-15 years. Such performances did not fail to attract the attention of Guy Ferrier, current coach of the France team of U- 16, who did not hesitate to propel Alphonse to take hold of the nº1 jersey, including during the last Euro U-17, which opened him the doors to fulfil one of his dreams: to take place on PSG’s squad, as 3’rd goal keeper. With an impressive size for his age, a very safe air game, an exceptional e focused mind, very rare at his age and feline reflexes, Alphonse Areola is indeed one of the greatest hopes of PSG and Les Bleus. We will hear more from him, probably next summer during the Toulon tournament 2011. I see a great future for this wonderkid if he keeps up this pace. | |||||||||||||||||||

Eden Hazard - the "new zidane" or something different?
Name: | Eden Hazard | |
---|---|---|
Born in: | 7 january 1991 (19 years) | |
Place: | La Louvière, Bélgica | |
Height: | 1,70m | |
weight: | 69 kg | |
Foot: | right |
Position: midfielder
Eden Hazard is “football’s future star”, Zinedine Zidane said in an interview published last month by Marca newspaper, where he also stated that he would transfer the player “in the blink of an eye” to Real Madrid.
Madrid and France’s ex player said that Hazard, aged 19 and resembling Lionel Messi in terms of stature, is “very good and will become greater still”.
“He is very fast, able and can become a great football player. I would transfer him to Real Madrid in a blink of an eye.” Zidane declared, who is Florentino Perez’s special counselor at Real.
In the last two seasons, Hazard has blown everyone away and become the target for all major teams. He won last season’s Best youngest player title in League I and continued to amaze. In the season of 2009-2010, Eden has 85 games as belonging to Lille, 11 goals, his amazing passes worked for all their worth by Pierre Alan Frau or Gervinho. The last big game of the midfielder was in the 16 of the Europa League, against Liverpool, where he scored the only goal of that leg.
An excellent dribbler of the ball, along with great speed, Hazard possesses superb vision which enables him to pick some wonderful passes, making him more of a copy of Leo Messi then Zinedine Zidane.
Even though he has just signed a contract renewal with Lille, the player admits he would have liked to have a try with Spain or England. “I’m delighted about these teams’ interest in me. Right now I’m trying to think only about my team, I have a contract with Lille until 2014. Maybe one day I will end up playing in the Premier League or Primera. I like both championships, but it depends on the offer and on Lille”, Hazard said according to Sky Sports.
Needless to say that Man. United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Real Madrid are among the "big sharks" waiting for the right moment. Still, acording to belgium's head coach, Hazard still needs to work hard than he does today, which means that this suposed lack of maturity might interfer with the players evolution. But he is no Mario Balotelli either!
The young Belgian is free to leave France, only after an extremely high sum is paid for him, estimated at about 14-25 million euros. Will 2011 be the year of Eden Hazards explosion?

scouting future stars
Today's promises are the stars of tomorrow... so keep your eyes open when you look at the pitch!
This blog was created with the intention of looking at today's football promises.
In football (soccer), scouts are trained talent evaluators who travel extensively for the purposes of watching athletes play their chosen sports and determining whether their set of skills and talents represent what is needed by the scout's organization. Some scouts are interested primarily in the selection of prospects, younger players who may require further development by the acquiring team but who are judged to be worthy of that effort and expense for the potential future payoff that it could bring, while others concentrate on players who are already polished professionals whose rights may be available soon, either through free agency or trading, and who are seen as filling a team's specific need at a certain position. Advance scouts watch the teams that their teams are going to play in order to help determine strategy.
Many scouts are former coaches or retired players, while others have made a career just of being scouts. Skilled scouts who help to determine which players will fit in well with an organization can be the major difference between success and failure for the team with regard to wins and losses, which often relates directly to the organization's financial success or lack thereof as well.
