For those who see this entry, this will be my last entry before entering National Service. Haha. Been awhile since I blogged. I seem to be gradually losing interest in such stuff. Lack of time? Nothing interesting in life to say about? Yep, typically I guess. This afternoon went over to the barber shop to shave botak!! wahaha. It was not a shocking feeling for me, but I looked rather different, nonetheless. Cooling and yet very easy to maintain, since not much shampoo is needed hahaha.Well, today will be my last day of freedom, and 2moro afternoon will be the first steps into BMT at Pulau Tekong. Kind of nervous, with a dash of anticipation to see how is army life like. Oh of course, not forgetting I have to get used to the rushing of doing stuff and doing stuff fast! But as time goes by, all these would be easier and more routinely though. So here ends my last entry before 2 years of NS. I may continue more entries after NS or if I have time in between (which is hard :p). So I shall officially put my blog entries on hold until further notice.Goodbye my friends, and wish me luck in NS!! ~Shawn Lee~

Really enjoyed the Sentosa trip Sam loo organised today, despite only 5 of us (Sam Loo, Sam Kuang, Nurul, Yani, Me). But nevertheless, we certainly had loads of fun there, not to mention fun with paying the unsubsidised rates for rides and attractions hahaha!! (ok la, except for Underwater World which was at a school holiday discount rate from $19.90 discounted to $13.90 lor LOLz)
Now now don't get the idea that I'm not happy with the rides we've been on. Its just that the issue pertains to the highly priced rates/fees for the attractions and rides imposed unto locals like us, me and you (well, most if you bah I suppose). It's alittle unfair to locals I feel, since tourists that visit have the monetary ability to pay that amount, but locals seem to have been placed on par with the same price rates too, thinking that we do not need any subsidised rates on the pretext that we have similar ability to pay that amount.
With little perks as locals to get discounted rates and such, it's a shame that no one is doing or willing to implement some better measures of price control, not discounting the fact that indeed there may already be existing packages or something for rides and stuff, but I just tend to feel we deserve better?
While pondering over such crap hahaha, I sort of penned (or typed) out lyrics for this song, based on 'stand up for singapore'. Its titled, Stand Up (Pay) for Sentosa. lol. Hey, if any 'gah-va-men' people see this pls dun be offended in any way, there is no pun intended and certainly all in the name of fun, thank you :) . Hopefull these lyrics share a similar feeling that you guys have at sentosa sometimes after paying for stuff hahaha.
Stand Up (Pay) For Sentosa ~ written by yours truly
Stand up for Sentosa, spend the most you can
Reach out for your wallet, friend
You’ve got to spend like mad (haiya, don’t so sad)
You pay for Merlion and skyrides alike,
Then tell yourself, I now ‘pok kai’ [dialect for ‘bankrupt’]
Be prepared to spend a little more (we locals don’t have discount lor)
Spend la, spend now in sentosa!
Pay more in sentosa, do it with a smile
Buy tix, hit the rides, go wild!
Finish liao ‘min chao chao’ ----> (-_-") [dialect for ‘black face’]
You paid so much money, attractions seem style
10 minutes finish? , like not worthwhile
Be prepared to spend, forever more (we locals don’t have discount lor)
Spend la, spend now in Sentosa! x 2
Sentosa, the isle of wonder
Once you go in, you’ll come out poorer
Come here and pay more, you’ve done before Spend la, spend now in Sentosa!
Pay more, get less in Sentosa!
Stand up, stand up for Sentosa!

After waiting for s000000000ooooooooooo...... long. Finally I got accepted into NTU Biological Sciences, 1st year entry!!!!OMG, I'm like so happy at least got one acceptance letter, at least a good University I can go to!! hahaha. Since NTU is near home (which is approx 15-20 mins from home, wahaha), I feel its a right choice to accept their offer. Moreover, NTU is an acclaimed and reputable University as well, given their previous researches and many years of cultivating talents...gosh I really hope to be one of their exceptionally good ones lol...(wish wish la)Been quite sian to blog these few weeks too, since life has been mundane, except that I have been hitting the gym often with Glenn, haha. Both of us have a goal in mind; to chiong training in preparation for NS!! Which is, sad to say, ONLY 3 MORE MONTHS!!! OHHH MYYY GOOODDD!!!!Yep. That's why I have the want to build up myself (hopefully effective enough haha) so I won't suffer that much in NS...which I know from hearsay that its really important you are really fit....haiz....nvm. 3 more months to train. Make full use of this timeframe to really train like that time when I was training after school and on my own in prep for NAPFA test. I CAN DO IT!! Sometimes when I think about how close army enlistment is, I really wonder how well I will cope there. I don't just mean physically coping with it during those gruelling training times, but also on the emotional and psychological aspects of oneself...will I be able to cope well? I've heard that some of them could not cope well during those 3 months which is stressful, and thus succumb to states of depression and loneliness, and in serious cases, led to suicide (I'm not making this shit up ok, its really first-hand stuff I heard from various sources). Its scary to think this is possible, but who knows what to expect? We always hear people giving their 2-cents worth of thoughts and experiences there; like how training is tough, and coping well during those 3 months BMT is easy (well, some don't think so), but who are we to forsee these events? It's only in time to come I will be able to find out how tough army training is, and how well I would be able to cope. To tell the truth, I'm quite worried, much less scared as well about enlistment. I mean, who does'nt? You are seperated from family and friends (only after first 2 weeks, then can go back home during weekends thereafter...) for most of the time, and you really have to depend on your bunkmates you sleep together in the same room with for help and company, as confidantes and pillars of moral support in camp. Of course, your main pillar of strength really lies with your family, since they are always there for you, no matter what, and that is why whenever ORD comes, its always tears of joy, never resentments. But when the experience is over, new friends made will surely remain friends for life, brothers-in-arms during those 3 months, and thats when you know how important it is to have each other for help and support there; your secondary pillars of support, sources of strength and sanity. Well, 3 more mths. I hope there will be more outings soon before the army catches us in, haha. That reminds me...when can I go Sentosa again ar???? hahahaha. I WAN SENTOSA !!!!

Yes, I believe all of you can see that my blog has undergone somewhat of a total blogskin makeover, haha. I've decided to settle for this blogskin for a long time (perhaps till another nice one catches my eye ahah). From the original blogskin, the buttons located in brown did not have the legend (i.e. the words Entries, Archive, Your Whispers, etc) and so I helped myself to the editing to list the buttons down, using of course some fancy fonts wahaha. Plus at the bottom of the window the moving quotes or phrases that you see there were added by yours truly (yeap...alittle emo-ish bah...but still I like it.)
Well, chalet was definitely a super blast, this time at Aloha changi chalet F, you know, the one with the seaview, closest to the beachfront haha. I remembered the last PD0105 chalet was held there as well, so I took quite a liking to the place, booked it, organised abit and the people came, haha. They really seemed to enjoy it loads! On chalet day, meet Sam Loo at JE mrt interchange, then hopped onto the train towards Pasir Ris. Talked quite alot of stuff along the way since the journey was taking ages. Joked abit about how people see us in a corner of the train, dressed so slack-style-ish with big bags resembling bombs or 'teh-ba-boom' LOl!!! When we reached Tampines mrt station, alighted and, time was 3.15pm, slightly off-timing, but Eric and Wenjie havn't arrived, so we headed to the shopping centre. Walked around abit, then both of us decided to sit at Mac wait for them. Once Eric arrived, we headed to NTUC buy our much-needed food and drinks. Loads of stuff bought, and it was there that we met up with Wenjie. So after grocery shopping, we headed for destination 'check-in to our chalet and collect keys of course' via taxi.
Really loved the feeling of being there again to take in the view of the sea, and everyone agreed as well. There was a slight sea breeze that blew across my face; that familiar scent of the vast sea. What was missing was cleaner, much finer sand, and oh, the breeze could have been slightly longer. Now that reminisces a vivid picture of the better beaches of palawan or siloso at Sentosa. Gosh now I really miss going to sentosa just to tan, slack, play. Or just maybe taking some time sitting in the sand, under those small, hawaiian-esque wood umbrella-shaped shelters, eyes a-gazing at the vast expanse of ocean, blue skies. Its something I really want to experience once again before going into the army...haiz....Okok enuff said about that. So to cut the story short, bbq was on that first night itself, where everyone arrived (but not at the same time haha). We had Liyana, Nurul, Yani and her friend arrive first, and following that was Samuel Kuang, who didn't know where the chalet was, and I had to pop up to the main road, only to see his dad's car behind me hahaha. Then it was weiyang. Then Huiling, Yahui, Serene Yeo, Serene Tay and Andrea, where they arrived together. Zhao and Chee Han were last to arrive, and they came quite late...when the malay girls were about to leave hahaha. But still we took photos for rememberance. So the rest of us stayed...The night was abuzz. The bbq was great I must say, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and I was glad they helped themselves to the food, which were to their liking haha. The funny incident was when me, Eric & Wenjie had to thaw most of the bbq foodstuffs because we forgot to keep them in the fridge, but placed them inside the freezer instead LOL....damn peng lor...then had to thaw using the microwave oven...everyone was frantic to thaw quickly, sorting out ways to thaw faster, like using bowls of water, heating the otah in the wok, which one was steamed hahah, etc. It was really funny come to think of it now, when I'm recalling them all over again, since the thawing part was done using 'teamwork' style haha. Each had their task to do in order to complete the bigger mission hhahha. Then of course alot of games were going on, and talking and gossiping as well. The night just went on nicely....until the guys (except me and Sam Loo) wanted to go up OCH to walk walk at like 1am. Eric didn't want to go at first, but peer pressure from the rest made him go hahah. I was under their psycho-ing as well you know...and thinking if it was such a good idea to go up there, at night, at 1am, to say the least. Me and Sam Loo didn't go in the end. When they came back, they all were quiet, and I mean really seriously quiet. When I asked them what happened, they seem to brush me off, and telling me not to ask them.I looked at Sam Loo. He looked back. We both knew something was wrong, and that something must have happened up there. But still, they not wanting to tell me anything was really too unnatural given their characters and personality, e.g. Eric who is really chatty...but came back totally quiet. I thought they had seen 'something', you know what I'm referring to, no need to elaborate further. Eventually, when the whole group went out together to walk walk around 3am, they spilled the beans, saying that it was a joke, where they bluff us....wth dudes...u almost got me and Sam Loo haha. But I already knew something was fishy since I know Sam Kuang always like to prank haha. Nice one dudes! Went walking towards Changi Village with the group. Of course they wanted to see the bapoks...so off we went. Saw afew of them, not that many compared to when I last went there with previous class peeps, but enough to intrigue the guys hahahah. Then walked quite abit to changi costal park, where everywhere was dead quiet (literally, but of course it should be lah...given that its 3am plus in the morning! lol). Chee Han, Sam Kuang, Weiyang and I walked further down to the beach, the rest waited at some chair area far back. It was worth it, given that I was able to witness the stillness of the night, calmness of the water that was unbroken by ripples, and under the starlit night sky; you could literally sit there for hours, reflecting, pondering about life, or enjoy a moment's peace on Earth there with your loved one, gazing at the billions of stars which I saw that very night. The silence of the coastal waters, dead, peaceful.2nd day we rotted quite abit at chalet, watching movies, slacking around lazying too, TV galore, snacking once more, haha. Of course played games too, dota alittle (hehe), and played murderer and heart attack with the whole gang. I was really sly throughout the murderer game, since I wanted to make people think I was the murderer, which in turn psychos them to think it was too good to be true, and thus make them suspect others intead, from which I randomly 'killed' the other players to make them think others who killed them were easy targets near them instead. Hahaha had all of them fooled a couple of times, wheee!!It was really fun to get together with everyone just to relax, talk, joke and to play silly old games...which by all means are really meaningful memories to me. Have you ever thought about this: How often a time(s) do you get where you could just unmask your exterior, matured self-concerned looks and character, and just unleash your inner child, that playful, silly-ish and youthful vitality within you when playing games together, and just be yourself like the very kid you were back then years ago, gleefully enjoying the time of your life, without the stress and worries of today? Not much yes? Ah...alas that really true saying, "there is always a child in all of us." When we were about to check out, the place was quite messy, so alot of 'spring cleaning' was needed to be done...or in our context, 'Xpress spring cleaning' wahaha. Sam Loo and some others helped to put the mattressed back in the rooms, while others helped clear the 2nd nite's bbq stuff (including me ok). Then I went to the kitchen, where alot of plates and pots and cookery were in need to washing, so I got some help from Chee Han, Serene Yeo and Sam Kuang. What was really funny was that we had a sort of 'factory assembly line', where Chee Han soaped the plates and cups, Serene Yeo rinsed them, I wiped them with a bathing towel, (LOL!!! I know its very peng, but we didn't have kitchen towels, so Chee Han said heck care just use the bathing towels to wipe haha, what's more was when they washed it was done sloppily and not that clean, lolz but who cares man make nice nice only nia) and Sam Kuang placed them back in place. Tadaa....like that finished in no time hahah.Currently I do not have all the pics, so I will post them another time right here on this post, so watch out for it k? ahaha. Once again thanks to all that helped make this chalet a success, and thnks to all for coming!!! Miss ya all!!

Been weeks....no job....rotting like mad. Though Eric rot together oso haha. Last Sunday Eric, Sam Loo and I went down Suntec Convention for Australian Uni convention of sorts. Although there was people aplenty, gathered crowds at each booth; either waiting for their turn to enquire, or hogging up the queue. But nonetheless, me and Eric were really happy to see quite a number of pretty gals there....wahh (goes into a sudden daze... o_O).
Oh yea yea, ahem...about the Australian Uni...yes. Well, we were there mainly to enquire about....wahh....those cute gals [gets smack!! in the eye. cry. (X_p)]
err heh heh...actually we went to Enquire about admission requirements, more about the courses, etc. But it turned out that this convention of sorts had lost its meaning, simply because of the incompetence of those who answered our queries. When we asked about requirements, most mentioned "it is likely a case-by-case basis", or things like "we are not sure about it, you have to check website", and and some stuff like "oh, well diploma graduates would be very difficult, because...." Wah kao eh, this kind of answers and replies? If you hire me part-time job there for a day at any of their booths, without looking through the courses and details, hell I can crap for you a million things that will 'satisfy' your queries to your amusement, or should I say, to your heart's irritation and desire to get the hell out of there ASAP.
So that's why I say this convention is more of 'go there, take brochure, talk to block of wood, get low morale, and go home search net or read brochure/booklets to get your answers' So, what up about the 'get low morale' thingy I just mentioned....you would'nt believe this shat.
(Stands at Uni of Melbourne booth)...Not that I'm skeptical of their teaching methods or doubtful of their reputation, no no, please do not mistake me for that. It's basically the 'biased-approach' they have in getting students to enter their biomed courses. Why do I say that? Ok very easy to answer this question. When we headed to Uni Mel booth, and Sam Loo asked them what were the requirements to get admitted into their biomed science course, a very 'nice, straight-faced lady' asked us about our qualifications, we replied well (and with hopes held high awaiting a positive reply of some kind...if there was) and she gave a final reply...
Lady: "Ohhh, sorry we don't take in diploma graduates, we only allow 'A' level students into our biomed courses."
WOW (where wow in this case does not refer to amazement...but instead represents as : What on 'What the f*kin-freaking stupid shitty shat shat loser arsehole gaylord's hell' was that?!?!?) Thank you.
So she had her friend to give us the reason. Ooooo....ok so we have now an 'expert' to give us the details as to why they put a STOP sign on diploma grads. So his reply was "because for RP there MAY be certain subjects or basics that you have not covered in poly, which is in fact required for our biomed course."
We were like...WTF la, this kind of reason also can. I mean come on la, not all diploma grads are that bad mah, just because they still weigh the 'bias-ness weighing scale' towards 'A' lvl holders thinking that they know EVERY single damn thing about science and biomed stuff in JC to give them enough reason to accept them more readily than us...diploma grads. What a real morale booster for all poly students out there man, seriously. It is such unfair systems that they adopt which does not give poly students like us a single ray of hope or motivation to look forward to further our studies in science or whatever we like. And how do we know if we haven't covered some basics? If not then alot of poly grads would gladly go through the course from scratch la....wth man they say no means no. Loserz for life whoever graduates from this uni sia...heck lor.
Honestly, students of good quality (in reference to the 'poly students genera', not just me ok..) are not cherished and polished bright to see our true abilities, mainly due to narrow-sighted losers like them. Oh, and poly students are more hands-on approach to solving problems ok? 'A' lvlers what they do?...theory theory theory, book book book....not much practical experience like us. If you give them a problem ar, heh heh, you see how the hell they gonna solve it with their 'refer to theory textbook knowledge' experience....they gonna give shit. not that poly students are best, but still, we may be able to handle certain problems issued to us better right? Haiz...
(gulps down water...thirsty after that marathon of words) Ok, I'm not gonna waste anymore energy whining about that loser Uni...because its beneath me to breathe down their necks on something they won't change. Therefore, UWA is still the best, and that goes for the other Aussie Unis, because they don't show that kind of favouritism, since everything else goes through a much 'fairer' selection process.
After going there to waste time on useless answers which you can just get by smoking thru and stuff, me and Eric headed to walk walk since Sam Loo had another appointment. So we walked around. Then saw SAFRA roadshow there. haha I recognised some of my previous colleagues there, but did'nt have the courage to go up to them to say hi. Paiseh la since they working, plus got new faces nver see before. Boss there oso LOL....scared...reminds me of someone i know...moody type one hahaha. ssshhh.
PepperLunch for dinner with Eric, since he hvnt try before. Me long time didnt eat Pepperlunch too. Was great, vely good!! Then went sit at Fountain of Weath there, the place above where you can see peoples messages shown on laser lights. Would be nice to see my name there, and true enough, my name popped up LOL!! although it was someone elses message. Took a snapshot...not taht clear, but nice to see it. How I wished there were dedications to me, or maybe I can make a dedication to someone special in future...hmm.
Back home, tired...log online msn awhile then went to sleep.
