It was a beautiful early February morning when Alex blessed Carter in the Tooele 8th ward. We had lots of people come and support us.
Alex blessed Carter with a special plan and mission for him to fulfill in this life. He was blessed with strength in body and to stay strong to the iron rod. He was blessed to be a leader amongst his peers and to be a leader in the church to guide and direct. Also blessed with a special spirit to discern the needs of others. Blessed to have a good sense of humor and to buoy up those around him.
It was a beautiful blessing. Alex said that he just stared at him during the whole prayer. The funny part was when Alex forgot to take Carter to the front to get blessed. Jason had to take him up because I couldn't even get Alex's attention to have him come get him.
After the blessing we came to our house and had a brunch to visit with everyone.

Alie's friends
I thought it was so cute today that I just had to write :). Background info: the Kindergarteners line up outside before they all walk into class to start the day. So I was pulling to the front to drop her off like I always do and she had a group of friends get excited when they saw or van and started chanting, Alie, Alie,Alie before she even got out of the car. They were so excited to see her. (There was no teacher out there telling them to do that). She was embarrassed and took a little longer getting out of the car. Then we said good and she skipped to the line while the kids were still continuing their chanting. She does really well with including everyone to play and everyone is her friend.

100 days of school
Alie had to collect 100 items and display them creatively. She collected crayons and then we melted them with a blow dryer. She was so proud of her project.
Arrrr matey.....
Sheila, the Cubmaster, did such a good job on the Arrow of Light ceremony. She dressed as a pirate and took the boys on their search to find their treasure. Braxton was smiling and the boys had a great time. We are so proud of him.
Braxton's 11 birthday
Braxton's birthday landed on a saturday so we were able to celebrate on his birthday which doesn't happen that often. It was his year for a family party so he chose ice skating. We invited family to come to my mom, dad, squeakers and brandon came from my side and Christina and Aleah came on Alex's side. I was so impressed with Aleah, it was her first time and she was very brave. She kept trying over and over even when she kept falling. Way to go Aleah.
Christmas Season 2013
Our December was full of parties. We had a Lopez Christmas party where we colored in the book, opened presents, and ate. We also had a Vera party where the kids did crafts, we had a program and we ate.
At the Day party, Jessica surprised everyone by coming to the party. She kept it a secret that they were coming home for Christmas from the Caribbean. It was a pretty awesome surprise, you should have seen everyone's faces. We actually got it on video. At that party we ate, made our candy trains, white elephant presents and nice presents.
For Christmas Eve we celebrated with the Bird family. We ate, had a program where McKailey and Alie sang a funny version of "Up on the house top," and exchanged presents.
On Christmas morning we spent it at home. Santa spoiled everyone and we had a great time celebrating Carter's first Christmas. We got some pictures of him with some funny faces while unwrapping presents.
