I had my 1st doctor appt. at 8 weeks and also got an ultrasound done. Baby is growing and is due November 9th.
After the doctor appointment, we told the kids that night. To tell them, Alex made a video for them and posted it as a private youtube video. It was a video about how our family has grown with each kid and now it is going to grow again. They didn't believe us at all. We had told them long time ago that there wasn't going to be any more brothers or sisters in the family so when we changed our mind, they didn't believe us. It was funny actually. Braxton realized first that we weren't kidding and was smiling and happy, then McKailey but it took Alie a good 15 minutes before she really believed us. They were all very happy for baby once they knew it wasn't a joke.
The next day is when we went to Grantsville for the Easter egg hunt. We were telling the rest of the family that weekend. But we told kids to not saying anything to the Lopez side at the Easter egg hunt because we were going to tell them the next day with Alie wearing a shirt that says, "Youngest Sibling Expires November 2013." Basically, Alie was the human billboard. After the hunt, on the way back to the car (we were walking with Aleah and Christina), Alie tells Aleah, “I can’t tell you, but guess what is in my mommy’s belly?” Aleah said a baby and then they both looked at me. I said yes but they couldn’t tell anyone because we were telling everyone the next day. It was really cute to see how excited Alie is for the baby.
After Grantsville, we went to the Day Easter party that I already wrote about. Right when we walked into the door Grandma and Grandpa Day read the shirt and were so excited.
The funny part was when Lis read the shirt. We were sitting in the
front room and Alie walked in. She read the shirt and said, “no way!” and was
super excited. Then she asks what day and I tell her the 9th. Then
she gets real excited and says “ME TOO!” That was a surprise! We are due the
same day! She had brought a shirt for Reeves to wear that says "Big Bro" so they could tell us but
they were waiting for Jason to get there. But she couldn’t hold it in. Not that
I would blame her. That is funny! So of course, we had to take a picture.
We told Alex’s side at the
Easter party the next day. The same way. Grandma Lopez read the shirt and then
walked on, totally not understanding what it said- it was funny. When Josh read
the shirt and he said congrats then Grandma read the shirt again and
understood. We are so excited!
