Our New Addition

Funny story here- I'm pregnant! The funny part- Alex and I thought we were done having kids. We got rid of all of the maternity and baby stuff a couple of years ago. When we finished our basement, we decided that we didn't need to store the baby stuff any more, so we had a yard sale and also gave stuff away. We needed a place to store the photography equipment so the baby stuff left. Fast forward to a little while ago- I started having dreams about this baby in heaven waiting for us. This baby was anxious to come join our family. I was having the dream often and then during the day I would see myself pregnant again. Once Alex and I decided to have a baby, the dreams stopped. This just goes to show that Heavenly Father is in charge and has a plan for us instead of me who thought I was done with babies.
I had my 1st doctor appt. at 8 weeks and also got an ultrasound done. Baby is growing and is due November 9th.

After the doctor appointment, we told the kids that night. To tell them, Alex made a video for them and posted it as a private youtube video. It was a video about how our family has grown with each kid and now it is going to grow again. They didn't believe us at all. We had told them long time ago that there wasn't going to be any more brothers or sisters in the family so when we changed our mind, they didn't believe us. It was funny actually. Braxton realized first that we weren't kidding and was smiling and happy, then McKailey but it took Alie a good 15 minutes before she really believed us. They were all very happy for baby once they knew it wasn't a joke.
The next day is when we went to Grantsville for the Easter egg hunt. We were telling the rest of the family that weekend. But we told kids to not saying anything to the Lopez side at the Easter egg hunt because we were going to tell them the next day with Alie wearing a shirt that says, "Youngest Sibling Expires November 2013."  Basically, Alie was the human billboard. After the hunt, on the way back to the car (we were walking with Aleah and Christina), Alie tells Aleah, “I can’t tell you, but guess what is in my mommy’s belly?” Aleah said a baby and then they both looked at me. I said yes but they couldn’t tell anyone because we were telling everyone the next day. It was really cute to see how excited Alie is for the baby.
After Grantsville, we went to the Day Easter party that I already wrote about. Right when we walked into the door Grandma and Grandpa Day read the shirt and were so excited.

The funny part was when Lis read the shirt. We were sitting in the front room and Alie walked in. She read the shirt and said, “no way!” and was super excited. Then she asks what day and I tell her the 9th. Then she gets real excited and says “ME TOO!” That was a surprise! We are due the same day! She had brought a shirt for Reeves to wear that says "Big Bro" so they could tell us but they were waiting for Jason to get there. But she couldn’t hold it in. Not that I would blame her. That is funny! So of course, we had to take a picture.
We told Alex’s side at the Easter party the next day. The same way. Grandma Lopez read the shirt and then walked on, totally not understanding what it said- it was funny. When Josh read the shirt and he said congrats then Grandma read the shirt again and understood.  We are so excited!

Dee Event Center Dance Competition

Alex took the girl's to the next dance competition last Saturday. I stayed home with Braxton so he could do his first soccer game of the season. The girls actually performed at Grantsville Jr high the day before for an assembly.

Happy Easter!

Instead of going to Deseret Peak Easter Egg hunt, we went to Grantsville's instead. It was so much better! (Last year, Alie got lost for a couple of minutes which was so traumatizing that I had to hold her the rest of the day. Also, there was such complete craziness that at Deseret Peak that I won't do that again!). So, we were very excited that Grantsville was holding one this year. It was much better organized and the kids had lots of fun. The first group was Alie's and she also went with her cousins, Sophia and Kyla. Those 3 are inseparable. Here they are after they got their stash.
Next, McKailey's group went and she got to hunt with Aleah as well. She was excited to go with her! Here they are before they went.
Next, was Braxton. He didn't get to go with any cousins when it was his turn because there are no cousins that are older with him. Pretty soon he is going to be to old to even do this. Crazy!
Here we are at the end with the cousins showing off their stash of goods. They got a ton of stuff.
After the Hunt, we went to the grocery store and went on an egg hunt as well and received some more candy. Their baskets were full and we hadn't even gone to the family Easter parties yet.
But, we went to Grandparent Day's house for the party after. There we dyed eggs, pinata, egg hunt,   ate lots of yummy food and don't forget the cascarones.

Funny story happened here at this party but I will save that for the next post.

The next day was the long anticipated Easter morning. You would have thought it was Christmas here! They were going crazy! I made them wait till Alie woke up (nobody wanted to have responsibility over a tired girl) so it was around 7:30 when we let them see what was left for them.

We bought McKailey a new dress (she really needed one since she keeps growing so fast) and we used the dress that I made for Alie for her Easter dress. (The one that was suppose to be her Easter dress last year but I didn't end up finishing it for months and months later.) Braxton wanted nothing to do with a new outfit- boys.

After church we went to Grandparent Lopez's house for another awesome party. We painted bird houses, ate lots of yummy food and had an egg hunt. They wanted their pictures taken as well so after we took a couple of pictures the camera got put away because we don't have any pictures of the activities.
