Kenzee Loves the Pumpkin Guts
I have been terrible at blogging, but I had to post these videos of Kenzee. She really got into the pumpkin carving this year! For some reason the girls in my family like to get dirty. All of the "mud" pictures from the Res or Bear Lake are of Ashlee. When I was growing up my best friend was a boy named Troy (funny, huh?) and when we would play, I came home dirty from head to toe and he was spotless. I guess us girls just like to get down and dirty. Emilee doesn't seem to mind getting dirty either, it's my boys who would cry or have issues as babies if they had something on their hands. It seems Kenzee is going to fit right in. She was a slimy mess afterward, but she sure had fun! (The BO conversation in the back is kind of funny too. Ashlee asked how we liked her BO and we laughed. She was carving BOO into her pumpkin.)

Scripture Reading for Kids
I just thought I would let everyone know about this cool website. It is scriptures4kids.com. They have scripture stories in several different reading levels. My kids have been loving it. They also have a challenge going where if your kids read 15 minutes a day for 60 days in the scriptures they could get a $10 gift card to Deseret Book. You have to hurry because they have to complete the 60 day challenge by August 31st.
They even have a download for a FHE lesson to kick it off. Jordan and Troy did that for their lesson this week. Other downloads include scripture reading charts. The kids and I think it is great, you should check it out.

Motorcycle Baby
She actually does this all the time on her own, but of course when the camera came out, she needed some prompting.

Happy Anniversary Babe

Today is our 14th anniversary and I am so thankful to be married to such a wonderful man. I would like to share 14 of the many reasons I love him.
1. He treats me like a queen.
2. He is a wonderful father.
3. He honors his priesthood.
4. He is a great provider.
5. He teaches our children to love the gospel.
6. He helps around the house a lot.
7. He gave me 7 beautiful children.
8. He makes me laugh.
9. He plays cards with me.
10. He is adventurous and loves playing outside.
11. He tells me I'm beautiful all the time.
12. He always gives me a kiss when he leaves and tells me he loves me.
13. He is a hard worker.
14. He loves me unconditionally.
I love you so much. Thanks for 14 wonderful years.
My Mom

I just want everyone to know what a wonderful mother I have. (Already crying, better take a break.) Ok, I'm back. There are so many great things about my mom that it is hard to know where to start.
She always strengthens me with her faith. My mother loves the Lord and it shows in her very countenance. I have a fond memory of my mom going back to her room after breakfast to study her scriptures. I knew she wouldn't start the rest of her day without her scripture study. I frequently caught her on her knees when I would walk into her room at night. She attends the temple monthly. She is loving and kind and always willing to serve.
Despite having 7 active children, my mother has taken others into her home. My foster brother, Gilfred, only lived with us for 3 1/2 years, but he still loves her and calls her Mom. A sweet girl from Guatemala also lived with my family for a while. When I was on my mission in Portugal, a disabled sister said she wanted to go to Utah for a month and needed a place to stay. I knew my Mom would be willing to take her in. She was still there 10 months later when I returned from my mission. She is a great example of love and compassion.
I believe the most important thing my mother has done for me is love me. I have never questioned her love. She has always made me feel important and loved no matter what I was doing wrong or what difficulty I was going through. I know that each of my siblings feel the same way. My Mother loves me and has taught me to love as well. Thanks for everything Mom! You are such a wonderful Mother and Grandmother. I love you so much.

BYU Study

Kenzee and I participated in two BYU studies this week. They put this funny little cap on her that was supposed to tell them what parts of her brain were active. She was in the control group and just had to sit with it on for 5 minutes. The other group watched something on the TV.
Mine wasn't so fun. I had to wear a blood pressure cup for twelve hours. It was on Monday which was my first day back from our KFC trip. Of course I had a million errands to run and I'm sure people thought I was strange with this blood pressure gadget on me all day. I had to record my stress levels and other feelings I was having each time it took my blood pressure. I think it has something to do with our bonding emotions and stress levels as new moms. (At one point I was quite stressed but it had to do with my 16 year old, not my baby. Adam didn't come home from practice and I didn't know where he was...he wasn't answering his phone or responding to texts. He is on the sophomore baseball team and the schedule is on our calendar. Well, he is supposed to dress for JV games, which I didn't know, and when I found him at the ballpark, he was going in to play in the JV game. It was a good thing, but stressful for me until I found him.) The next day they had me do various activities such as feeding and playing with Kenzee while they took my blood pressure. They also took saliva, urine, and blood samples. The worst thing they made me do was put ice water on my forehead for 2 1/2 minutes. That was torture.

A Nightly Ritual
Emilee's favorite movie is Barbie's Princess and the Pauper. Almost every night she has to do her own performance and dance around singing the song. She is such a delight and of course we think she is adorable! She is also wearing her favorite nightgown with the princesses on it. She goes through times when she wants to wear it every night and so I have to sneak it to wash it. If it's not dry by bedtime I get in big trouble. She is definitely our little princess.
