2011

Less than 2 hours to 2012.

So what have I got to say about this? I'm pretty glad 2011 is over.

It's honestly been one of the most tiring and hard years I've had. With all the stress from SAM, all the dramas, all the challenges, it's been so tiring.

Had the privilege of spending the last few days of the year with family in Penang and going up to Genting for the last night of YC Camp 2011, The Advancement.

Camp was.. well.. different from the previous YC Camps. But I guess the one thing that doesn't change is God's presence and His power to move especially when people gather for the same purpose; to seek Him and really be hungry for God. It has been such a blessing to me to be able to lead the PJ CG this year and just praying for a few of my members this morning really opened my eyes to how much God has planned for all of us. In a nutshell, I'd just like to share that even as we step into the new year, the one thing we should remember is that this life is not our own. God created us for His purpose and only His purposes. Yes, life is difficult. Yes, life is crazy as we all try to climb up the ladder of success. Yes, I know this is so 'easy for me to say'. Yes, I know that you 'can't survive in the world' if you don't get crazy grades or get some high paying job. But you know, there's so much more to life than this. So much more that God has in store for us that we fail to see just because our minds are so closed up in a box, that we fail to free our minds to see what God has prepared. So many times God reveals His plans and His word to us right before our eyes and yet we fail to grasp it just because we are too blinded by this box, caged. As young people, there is so much potential that we fail to put to use. I suppose if there's one thing I really regret my whole teenage life (13 till now?) is prolly the fact that I had so much to offer God but yet I was just sitting around expecting God to do something in my life. To my fellow YC-ians if you ever read this, God won't do something in your life until you make the first step, until you want it and you step out. So 2012, challenge accepted. =)

Exactly 40 mins till Christmas 2011 =)

What is Christmas to me?

Well, for starters.. if you don't already know, the true meaning why we celebrate Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, our Saviour, our Friend, our God, our healer, our everything. So I suppose, Christmas to me signifies hope. It signifies second chances. God didn't give us His son for nothing, and His grace is truly sufficient enough that He has blessed us with more than second chances. In other words, Christmas to me does mean forgiveness. To forgive and forget. Christmas also means love to me. I mean, if God didn't love us, He wouldn't have sent Jesus right? Christmas I suppose also means to be humble, that riches don't matter. Jesus was born in a stable, in a manger. Isn't that such a humbling thought that Jesus was born in the humblest of places on Earth? Christmas signifies life to me. Christmas to me is knowing that God sent His son to save me and to save you and the rest of the world. And of course Christmas means so much more to me but let's just keep this short yeah? In a nutshell, I guess Christmas ultimately is just the most beautiful time of the year, to love, to forgive, to give, to be selfless, to remember that God sent His son to Earth. To change our world. It ain't about the gifts or the Santa Claus or the decorations or the food. It's just about Jesus and His love for us. This Christmas, I pray that you'll experience this same overwhelming love from Jesus to you. Just take it, it's His gift just waiting for you to grab it.

If there's one thing college has really blessed me with, it's prolly the most amazing bunch of friends that really are so so dear to me. They genuinely mean the world to me and I guess you could say, them being around has really shown me what AMAZING friends people can be. Never felt as much love as I feel now, like ever!

If you ever come across this,

Guys, you are amazing. Please, never let anyone else tell you otherwise. You guys prolly have the BIGGEST hearts around and I am beyond thankful that God really brought you guys into my life. You guys never fail to put a huge smile on my face, to make me laugh till my tummy hurts, to do the craziest things with me, to bear with my high pitched whines and screeches, to have my backs through thick and thin, to be ever so patient with me when I don't get stuff, and ultimately, to share every moment with me, happy or sad, you guys have always been with me. I am going to miss you guys so much. Going to miss all our lunches, our crazy late night Skype calls, Iqmal's uber hilarious jokes, Jamie's total sweetheart-ness, Howie's amazing creative skills, Emily's bimboness, Chung Mae's crazy stress moments, Megan Tah's uber cuteness and occasional blurness and Rachel Low's singing and lame jokes :P I am REALLY GOING TO MISS YOU. Each one of you. Thank you for the most amazing 2011 I could ask for. All thanks to you guys :) I love youus!

Remember, the ones that matter ALWAYS stick around. I only hope I matter to you guys as much as you matter to me, Cause you already know I'm always going to be here when you need me. No matter what, I'll be here. :) <3

Officially 18 :)

OMG, it's been 8 months since I've blogged and I'm finally cleaning up the dust and webs from this junkyard and starting afresh with a post on my 18th birthday! Honestly, this year's birthday, though it did not have as many people as I usually would have, it was hands down the MOST AMAZING BIRTHDAY EVER.

Woke up to a bunch of crazy people in my room. With Howie banging a metal bucket with a spatula and the group of my CLOSEST college sweethearts (Kristin, Emily, James) waking me up! Was beyond surprised and super embarrassed since well, okay nobody wakes up looking absolutely fabulous -.- AND THEY CAUGHT EVERYTHING ON VIDEO OMG. Dies.

Kristin brought pancakes for me and OMG THEY MADE THIS SUPER CUTE CARDBOARD ROBOTS for me! Grr beyond amazing. Washed up and had breakfast with the lovely bunch. :)) THANK YOU KRISTIN, YOUR PANCAKES ARE ALWAYS THE YUMMIEST SHIZZ!

These people seriously treated me like a princess today! They literally drove me around Bangsar and walked around Telawi with me just looking for a place for my birthday dinner. OH AND THEY GOT ME THE PRETTIEST DRESS EVER for my birthday present. LOVE YOU GUYSSSS! Yudish joined us for lunch and had good hawker food :)) Yudish dropped me home after and got to take a good nap :)

Emsie picked me up around 7.40pm with Kristin in the car. These girlies tricked me! Grr, told me they had to drop something off at Emsie's mum's place and told me we had to go down. Walked along the Datuk Sulaiman park and saw candles on the ground. Honestly thought it was some prayer/ritual thingy ma jigg. Then Faiz pops up with a whole friggin bunch of flowers. Likee OMG, best surprise ever :) Oh and the candles spelled out 'I love you' AHAHAHA. SO CUTE CAN DIE PLEASE.

Headed to Monte's BSC for dinner. THANK YOU EVERY ONE WHO CAME. Like really you guys just ultimately made my day! :) Had so much fun being around the people who matter the most to me. So thank you Faiz, Kristin, Emily, James, Howie, Iqmal, Megan Tah, Chung Mae, Ashley, Jia Wen, Li May, Grace, Brenda, Belle, Karen Hfz Pinky, Hakim Blur and Imran for coming. I really wanted this year to be just the ones that mattered the most to me and I was so so happy that all of you could make it! Love love love love you! :)

The college bunch headed over to my place around 12 and stayed till 1. Had so much fun just hanging around and talking. Seriously couldn't ask for more. :))

bored out of my mind waiting for time to crawl by.

Hence, just going to state #100thingsaboutme since I don't want to spam on Twitter.

Here goes, in no random order.

1. I was born a week later than expected.

2. If I was born a guy, my parents would've named me David. HAHA.

3. I sing when I'm bored, nervous or when I'm comfortable with the people around me.

4. I'm constantly hungry!

5. I really really want to put on weight.

6. I genuinely LOVE people. Friends and family, new or old.

7. Oh right and I love kids! (in a totally non-pedo way)

8. I always appreciate a good cup of coffee :)

9. I channel my stress towards arts and crafts.

10. I can't draw.

11. I LOVE vegetables. celery, carrots, you name it.

12. I am hopeless in manicures, pedicures and make up. :(

13. I sleep A LOT.

14. I'm a bum. A true lazy, couch potato, bum.

15. I tend to check out girls more than guys. I'M STRAIGHT GUYS.

16. I have pretty low self esteem, I just try not to show it.

17. I'm a HUG-ger. I love hugs :)

18. I have an extremely b*tchy and bimbo side that makes rare appearances.

19. I loveee any music with a good beat to it :)

20. I love the smell of vanilla!

21. I sometimes get along better with guys rather than girls.

22. I like fixing stuff. Well sort of.

23. I love weddings! :)

24. I don't smoke, don't think I ever will.

25. I party, but I don't booze.

26. I actually find drunk people are disgusting.

27. I tend to hold grudges, as much as I hate it.

28. Yes, I get jealous easily.

29. I genuinely despise couple t-shirts. MUST YOU GUYS REALLY LOOK ALIKE?!

30. I think it's funny how my eyes are actually average sized but become lines when I smile.

31. I laugh, A LOT.

32. I'm pretttty LOUD, and noisy, and annoying at most times.

33. I'm a bit of a hoarder.

34. I'd prefer the 'local' soy tofu over the egg tofu on any day.

35. When it comes to potato chips, I'd only have Sour cream and onion or Cheese.

36. Oh right, and I have an extreme love for Sour Cream and Guacamole

37. I have a huge forehead.

38. I cannot speak Mandarin, extreme banana.

39. I'm half Nyonya. :)

40. I'm pretty proud of my fluent BM. (which I'm slowly losing *gulp)

41. I never liked playing with dolls as a kid.

42. Yes, I watch football and yes, I support Manchester United!

43. I'm actually glad I have 2 older brothers and no sisters.

44. I slept late even as a kid. Bed time was 12AM for me when I was little.

45. I love having pillows on my bed, but I never sleep on them.

46. I sit and sleep in extremely odd positions. Family would know, hahah.

47. I tend to shut my nose when I sneeze. Bad habit.

48. When my mum asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up, at the age of 3, I said I wanted to be a mum. HAHA.

49. I somehow have really bad luck with phones.

50. According to Marc, I have a really REALLY strange thumb. =S
