Weekend in the Country

It has been quite warm in Cedar City during the afternoon lately and it was so nice to get out of the heat and head to my parent's. This is the view from their back yard. Gotta love the pretty, rustic ranch.

Cowgirls (Paxton refused to be in the picture)

The Rich County Fair was going on so we got to go to the Parade where Macy sat on Papa's lap the whole time. That cowboy in the bakcground is Macy's great grandpa, Pampa.

Cousins Natalee & Bella

Aunt Barbara and cousin Kambria

Cousin Emily

Grandma Nanny & Grandma Gigi

Clarissa, Ahanna and Satish

The highlight was getting to see my cousin Clarissa who lives in Michigan with her husband Satish and daughter Ahanna. I had never met Satish or Ahanna and hadn't seen Clarissa is 4 years! It was so fun to catch up with her and "talk babies".

Next we went see the home arts exhibit and some of the livestock which Macy loved.

Then it was over to Bear Lake to see some of the homes Andy has been working on for the Bear Lake Parade of Homes and celebrate Brie and Papa's birthdays with dinner at Cafe Sabor...

Paxton hiding from the camera

And then off to the Berry Bowl for cupcakes and frozen yogurt.

I want to get this IKEA table and chairs for Macy to color and have tea parties.

At the Berry Bowl, Macy enjoyed chasing ants on the sidewalk:

I got some Bear Lake raspberries for making jam! We had a great weekend (and a long drive home).

Macy at 13 Months

She is no longer a baby. Macy is growing up so fast. She toddles around and isn't full blown walking but has taken her first few exciting steps!

She is speaking Chinese, well gibberish big time but it sounds like another language, Macy"ese". She spouts off little conversations and we nod our heads and agree every so often. She has a lot to say.

She can tell you what the cow says = a quiet little "moo", what the tractor says = "brrbrrbrru", what the doggy says = she puts her tongue out and pants/breathes heavy "hahahahahah", what the horse says = she clicks her tongue like "clock clock clock".

She is getting a little more hair - it's growing in slowly. Little curls around her ears and a fabulous strip across the top of her head.

She has more personality than ever. She is getting more and more spunky by the day. I'm nervous....she gets what she wants. She needs a sibling to share with. :)

She is getting really busy and getting into everything. There have been a few casualties.

She is still our cute little Macy but just a more mature version... it's a little bit sad but mostly exciting.

Quatro Anos

4 years ago today Andy and I were married in the Salt Lake Temple.

Best day of my life.

Then we went and celebrated and ate and danced with our family and friends.

Best party of my life.

Then we drove off in Andy's 1954 Packard to enjoy the rest of our lives...together.

Best decision of my life.

The Green Show

We took Macy to the Green Show at the Shakespeare Festival and she loved it. She was clapping and everything. Afterwards I (a friend had an extra free ticket) got to go see The Music Man and it was UNBELIEVABLY good. Can't wait to go see it again with Andy.

Out with the Old

I'm so in a decorating mood. I'm almost looking forward to winter when I'm all cooped up and can do some decorating. I wanted to personalize the wall collage with photos of family memories...

...so I picked up some frames from Ikea and filled them with favorite times in our life.

In case you can't see the text, there is one of us on our wedding day in front of the Salt Lake Temple, one of Macy at 9 months, prego belly, Macy at 1 year, on our honeymoon in Santa Barbara, and a family photo.

The old collections got demoted to the back patio.

Lucky Girl

Andy built Macy a custom gate so she doesn't topple down the stairs. She's a pretty lucky girl.

Please don't mind the bad bruises on her little forehead. I really don't know how her head managed to make such fierce contact with the kitchen floor.
