Hello everyone!
We are sitting at just a few days over the half way point in our adventure out here on Vancouver Island, and boy are we having an absolute blast! I would have loved to have included more pics in this post but the internet here is sketchy and has a tendency to quit without notice. So....just a quick update before I head back out to the beach!!!
We enjoyed warm weather and sunny skies almost every day while at our fave spot at Miracle Beach, except for here in Tofino, where it has been a little cooler and foggy. Typical west cost weather! Lots of ocean swimming and boogie boarding, lots of skim boarding, we have been sea kayaking around the shores of Tofino (my highlight for sure!), hiking on Mt. Washington, trying out bungee trampoline, hiking in the rain forests of the Pacific Rim, and exploring all the marine life in the surrounding coves.
We have a little under two weeks left, and as of tomorrow, we head over to the Victoria area to finish up our stay on the Island, and then a few days in the Revelstoke area, and then....homeward bound. Incase you are wondering, between my camera, and two phones, we have taken close to 600 pictures already! Don't worry, I will narrow them down once we are home and can't wait to share more of our adventures then. For now....surfs up! Later dudes!

sandy shores galore!
It's that time of year already! Time for our Island adventure! We will be venturing on over to Vancouver Island for our summer camping holiday, so our time here in this space will be sparse. We will, however, do our best to update the blog during our travels and keep you posted as to what we are up to this year. Lots of exciting things are on tap, and the excitement levels (needless to say) are running high!
So my friends...we are off! We will chat with you all very soon!
Happy summering!

Ontario Adventures
A guest post by Brent:
First up was a dinner with Dan, Wendy, and "Auntie" Vi (hard to believe she is 89!)

Dinner was followed by a Blue Jays game with Grandpa Snider and Auntie Heather
Both Aidan and I were very excited to get to the Bentleys cottage and everything worked out perfect - check out the artsy sunset picture!
Aidan go to try tubing and I learned to wakeboard. We even got in a 3 hour canoe trip. Aidan loved playing with Gavin and Zoe - he was in the lake for hours!
Thanks Bentleys for all your hospitality and a great visit (yes Dan, you finally made the blog!). We look forward to seeing you again in Thailand in a few years.
A quick stop a Toronto's Lego Land Discovery Centre was fun
A quick trip to Niagara falls was followed by a gorge hike and visit with the Clazie family.
While Aidan played pool and visited with Grandpa and Grandma Werkman ...
I got to try wake-surfing (not wakeboarding) with Uncle Ian and Auntie Heather. You are supposed to drop the rope and just ride along with the wake of the boat like a continuous wave, but I was all over the place - turn up the sound to hear Uncle Ian's entertaining commentary!
Auntie Heather took us to Canada's Wonderland where Aidan did 3 roller coasters and won a big stuffed animal in a fishing game. A great day ended a little early due to a storm that brought the highest one-day rainfall in Toronto's history.

We finished the trip off with some glow in the dark mini putt and a huge lunch buffet.
It was amazing what we were able to do in just seven days - thank you all for an epic week!
