Thank you Grandma & Grandpa

What a fun week these kids have had! A big thank you to Grandma and Grandpa for all of the fun playtime and amazing projects that you did when you were here. Aidan and Maelle had so much fun with the new costumes, the awesome beanbags & beanbag toss, and the bird feeder which has created quite the gathering of birds in our backyard! Aidan is quite excited about that. Not to mention a huge thanks from myself and Brent for letting us "get away" to go snowboarding and to have a couple evenings out of the house.

The week was filled with some quality playtime, a visit to the Children's Museum & Science Centre, a few amazing toy stores, and just some good fun hanging around the house. Grandma and Grandpa even made it into Banff & Lake Louise for the day...afterall no visit out west is complete unless you have been into the mountains! We are looking forward to seeing Grandma and Grandpa again in May, where they will get to spend 10 full days with Aidan and Maelle while mom and dad go and visit Auntie Kylie & Uncle Lindsay across the pond!

Grandma & Grandpa Werkman have arrived!
We have all been enjoying a few relaxing days hanging around the house and playing....lots of playing! It's been a little chilly out here in Calgary and we actually had a good dump of snow the day that Grandma and Grandpa arrived, so curling up by the fire (surrounded by Little People and Thomas the train) has been the favourite activity.
Today....Grandma and Grandpa got to spend the entire day with the two little ones while Brent and I went snowboarding at Sunshine Village in Banff. It was my first time out in about 4 years, and it was awesome! A big thank you to Grandma & Grandpa! Actually...I don't think Aidan and Maelle even knew we were gone! We still have the whole week left with Grandma and Grandpa so I am sure I will have more pics to post in a few days!

I have to admit, that despite all of the arguing over the same toy, and the "accidental" bumping that goes on between these two monkeys....it's moments like these that make me stop and smile...and sometimes (more often than not) just bust a gut laughing!

Welcome to my world! Can we say a trendy 3 year old? Here's a fun shot of Aidan with a "kids" size hot chocolate from Starbucks. Actually...in all honesty....it was really Brent's...he isn't ready for the "tall" ones yet! We were taking a little break from doing the kitchen floor and we just set up the photo op. It is pretty awesome having a Starbucks within walking distance! A little too convenient!

Winter Fun

Thanks to some nice temperatures this weekend, we were able to get outside for some good winter fun with the family. We spent a good part of Saturday morning at Lake Sikome doing a little sledding. Aidan (being the big brother) decided that he would pull Maelle in the sled....Maelle was full of giggles and Aidan was heard repeatedly asking "you like this Maelle....so fun....you like this Maelle...hang on Maelle!" Too cute!

Aidan took a turn later in his snow tube, but after a bit of a speed induced wipe out (don't ask!), he decided that slower was better.

Now....when you go to a park with Aidan (regardless of the time of year) he never misses a playground. Here is a shot of Aidan teaching Maelle the concept of how to go down the slide.

Well...it's official. I have two of the silliest kids. There must be a full moon or something, but Aidan and Maelle have been absolutely hilarious the last couple of days. Maybe it's the start of the new year.....who knows. The following pics tell the story......
