patience is a virtue. or so they say.
but have you ever had that feeling when you're waiting for something which you know is inevitable... but it's just so uncertain that you're not sure what to do?
well. that's happening right now. and i'm at a loss. i don't know if i should be making tonnes of contingency plans or if i should just be hoping for the best!
but if hoping for the best means setting myself up to get sad. then sigh. i don't know if i want to do sad.
oh well.
*just a closer walk*
i was walking to work this morning, and i heard someone humming the very last line. that was all it took to get this ringing in my head. all day long.
just a closer walk
just a closer walk with Thee,
grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
daily walking close to Thee,
let it be, dear Lord, let it be.
i am weak, but Thou art strong;
Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
i’ll be satisfied as long
as I walk, let me walk close to Thee.
through this world of toil and snares,
if I falter, Lord, who cares?
who with me my burden shares?
none but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee.
i think i love the country version more so than the "normal" one.
there's just something about it that makes me feel totally... good. =)

*if you ever loved somebody, put your hands up*
SO much better than nelly's original!! kurt schneider and sam tsui: you guys need to start your own label already.
*i'm not sure how that makes me feel*
so i know of a couple of girls from my high school who had kids (and later got married) when we were around 18/19. at the time, i think i shrugged it off thinking that they were the anomalies. the odd ones. the one in a millions.
but there's something strangely different when you find out that a friend, someone you actually knew, hung out with and shared life moments with, who is born in the same calendar year (albeit being all but a few months younger), just got engaged to be married. to a good guy. a great guy.
it's really strange when i think that this friend was part of the same group of girls with whom talks over brunches just a year ago, would be centred around boys and finding the right kind of guy that God planned for us to be with.
she's found it. and don't get me wrong - i'm superbly happy for them both!
yet, reflecting on the news, i gotta admit. it's a little scary... isn't it? it means that the 88 babies have officially graduated into the "marriable-age-range". and that in itself, really really freaks me out!
a message to time: please slow down. i can't keep up! =p

* back to lists *
so those of you who knew me in high school and throughout the most part of my undergrad would remember that i was really big into lists. i had lists for everything: pro-con lists. to do lists. travel lists. prayer lists. restaurant lists. study schedule lists. book lists. the list goes on. [haah].
now, with all my 'free'-not-occupied-by-study time, i'm now officially back to list making.
i'll share with you my optimistic agenda for the next four months:
(1) create an art piece for the wall(s) in my room.
(2) fix my laptop keyboard.
(3) take at least three road trips far out of sydney.
(4) play sport of some kind. preferably tennis. i could also settle for shooting hoops.
(5) write a song/finish my piano composition.
(6) read a bunch of new books. let's say, at least five.
(7) get back to the old me and spend more time in the kitchen.
(8) finish the sc2 campaign.
(9) look into buying a sewing machine so i can start sewing again.
(10) walk across the harbour bridge and anzac bridge.
(11) go to taronga zoo.
(12) do 20 new restaurants. first on the list, dim sum at iron chef in cabramatta.
(13) do summer school (sad face).
(14) start learning a language.
(15) read the NT from start to finish.
(16) make several trans-continental phone calls to a few special people.
(17) memorize psalm 119.
(18) fish. multiple times.
(19) learn how to use photoshop properly.
(20) jump on a plane and go someplace random. (note: syd-auckland is only $139!!)
that looks like a potentially fulfilling four months hey. =p
i'm excited.

*five random things that make me...*
(1) WONDER... 'really.....?' =.= coz that TOTALLY defeats the purpose of cleaning the screen in the first place!

(2) AMAZED... that people would still pay $5.99 for a pack of these when a DVD which stores like 40 times the amount of data is a quarter of the price. or less.

(3) SHAKE MY HEAD... and then laugh while saying, "don't be so cheap!! just go buy a laser printer already!".

(4) READ... and then read again coz i couldn't tell what it meant the first time.

(5) REMEMBER... that i'm living in sydney. and that I actually really like it here.

yesterday was a special day: ALL FIVE of the BSBs got back together to perform on oprah's "teen idol" episode.
oh the 90s. notice how oprah knows all the lyrics too?

i marvel at change.

* sister love *
rach came up with a pretty awesome technologically-savvy solution to our house: she's managed to hook up our tv and surround stereo to a dedicated laptop "server" which powers an external hard drive that stores all of our entertainment. and now, coz of the wireless network, we can now access the hard drive and all of its goodness from our laptops (even when we're upstairs in bed), through the laptop downstairs. wonder why i can't sleep early? ;)
as rach so rightly pointed out, this also means that now, when we want to play music, we can actually stream music that's on our own laptops and have it play through the central speakers/sub! ain't that so much better than listening to it through our crappy laptop speakers? technology i tell you!
when demonstrating, the first thing she did was ask me for my music requests. aww.
of all things, this was the first song that came to mind.
and you know what? it's kinda funny how true it is... =p
