FITTY ON THE PENINSULA

Cape Schank, Mornington Peninsula, Victoria

On New Years Day I drove down to the peninsula to enjoy a beautiful day in the sun and the day delivered. The sky was a deep and clear blue. The sun rays made us feel light and kissed our skin. Pebble beach was a struggle to cross but I made it. I had sore calves for the next few days but it was worth it.

Red Gum BBQ, Red Hill, Victoria

For dinner we indulged in American barbecue at Red Gum BBQ. The establishment had been recommended by a friend (that I knew in 2003) who had just dined there and it exceeded my expectations. We had the pork ribs, pork belly (Special of the Day), brisket chili cheese fries, broccoli salad and coleslaw. My favourite dish was the brisket chili cheese fries, it is definitely not to be missed.

If you're heading down to the peninsula I recommend going to Red Gum BBQ, I know I will be going back!

FITTY ON 2018

Happy New Year lovelies! Today I am announcing that I will be reviving my blog for 2019. A significant amount has changed since my last post three years ago. I could think of no better way to kick start the new year than with a summary of my favourite things from 2018.

Below are my favourite things from 2018.

  • Meeting and being with James
  • Birthday holiday in Hong Kong and South Korea
  • TV character - Phillip Bonfiglio (F is for Family)
  • Song - 'Suncity' by Khalid ft Empress Of
  • Song (Ballad):  'Happier' by  Marshmello & Bastille
  • Song (Workout): 'Dip' by Tyga & Nicki Minaj
  • Restaurant - Lolo and Lola (Watson, Canberra)
  • Laksa lunch catch-ups at Asian Noodle House (Greenway, Canberra)
  • Holding a master bedroom in a share house
  • Gordon Ramsay x sosig meme

I have been living in Canberra for 15 months now and I am still far from being a fully fledged Canberran, but it is changing me in small ways. I am also learning a lot about my independence and my relationships/interactions with people. I hope 2019 brings more growing, laughs and experiences.

ORCHIDS X POLAROID

Today I was asked "What are your hobbies? What do you do outside of work?" Honestly, my first answer was nothing. Aside from being in love with food and not actually satisfying my wanderlust... I guess the next best things are orchids, my Canon 60D and polaroids.

I want to play the ukelele and I want to want to run.

FITTY @ VAMFF

Royal Exhibition Building, Carlton

I attended my first runway show on Wednesday night as part of the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival. This year is the 20th year of the Melbourne festival. We attended the Premium Runway 4 which was presented by Harper's BAZAAR and supported by Revlon at Priceline Pharmacy. In the front of the building (better known to unimelb students as 'REB') there was a vibrant atmosphere of coffee, bar drinks, makeup station and laughter. Once inside we were greeted with a generous goodies bag and soaked up the natural colours and lighting of REB.

The Designer Line-Up: Alex Perry, Carla Zampatti, Dion Lee, Ginger & Smart, Martin Grant, Yeojin Bae.

Below are my favourite looks of the night in order of appearance.

Designer: Carla Zampatti

I hope you too found some time to check out the VAMFF and if not, that you consider attending next year.
Until next time!
