Separated and off I went to meet Boon at Orchard control station... Waited a while then as soon as we met up, we went to far east... Hehe... And she finally bought her dream bag... Mmm... Quite nice lohx... But I think if I were the one buying and carrying, the bag would look funny... Hehe... Maybe too lady liao... Mmm... Then went Wisma, wanted to take a look at the formal over there cos Boon say it's hard to get formal at the very last minute... But in the end, we walk a while then went over to Taka liao... They have this food feast over there... Bought ourselves dessert - Andrew & Anderson Patisserie - I bought Mango Celebre, Boon bought some chocolate de... Yum Yum... Nice and tasty recommendation from Boon... Hehe... On our way out of Taka, saw my netball junior, Chen Hui and her friend... Haha... Fifth person I saw for the day... On our way to Cineleisure, was being 'stopped' by Leonard... Haha... The sixth person I saw for the day... Greeted, chat for a while then say byebye again... Haha... Then off we went to Cinileisure, Lucky Plaza then to Heeren then back to Cineleisure... Haha... It's like exercising lahz... Walking up and down the street... But overall 'exercising' was fun lohx... Mmm... Then saw Sock Lian, Boon's ex-classmate... Don't really know her but knew of her existence in CCKSS... Hehe... Had our dinner there... Cheap meals... But it's YUMMY... Took neo-print at Heeren and Cine... Haha... Staff at Cine, their attitude a bit sucks in the beginning... Super pek chek in the beginning but felt better when they approach us when we needed help... I was laughing like hell when Boon told me people working in that shop are mostly GAYS... OMG... They look so man and diao... Haha... After a tiring day, took train back... Cui Han saw me in the train... The eighth person of the day... Was a bit stunned cos didn't expect to see anyone I know on the train... Haha... Doubt I can have a peaceful night with all the aches here and there... This shows that I've been slacking too much liao... Imagine when I'm in Secondary, I got training every week lohx... No ache and stuff when I reached home cos muscles all got used to it le... But now... Ai yo... Exercise and play almost every one or two months lohx... Soon you'll see me lying dead when I run around the court or what lohx... Haha... Luckily our school don have NAFA test for girls, if not it'll be super disappointing to see my stadium dropping from average till 'lan lan'... Haha... How I wish I can go back to CCK to play... Mmm... Donno why just don have the courage to go back there and play with the current batches of girls... Haha... I'm not an introvert... Just wanna share with everyone... Hehe... Teenagers not getting enough sleep? Are young Singaporeans not getting enough sleep? Was reading an article published by Mind Your Body with interest about young Singaporeans not getting enough sleep. Out of the 940 Secondary students the research team surveyed on, 80 percent of them are sleeping less than 8 hours a day while only 2.6 percent of the respondents are sleeping at least the recommended 9 hours a day. Sleeping is essential for a person’s well-being. It has been demonstrated that the metabolic activity of the brain decreases significantly after 24 hours of sustained wakefulness. Sleep deprivation results in a decrease in body temperature, a decrease in immune system function as measured by white blood cell count (the soldiers of the body), and a decrease in the release of growth hormone. Sleep deprivation can also cause increased heart rate variability. Sleep also ensure that our nervous systems function properly. Sleep deprivation makes a person drowsy and unable to concentrate the next day. It also leads to impairment of memory and physical performance and reduced ability to carry out mathematical calculations. If sleep deprivation continues, hallucinations and mood swings may develop. Actually, it is not unexpected that so many people are not getting enough sleep despite the importance of sleep. There are many reasons why teenagers nowadays are not sleeping enough. And I shall explain why. Reason Number 1: With the heavy school load and tight project deadlines, it is no wonder students nowadays have to burn midnight oil just to complete the assignments. Reason Number 2: Exam and more exam. Tests and more tests. Students are staying up late to revise for their papers, thus, turning in late. Reason Number 3: The power of highly addictive computer games! Some students are so engrossed in their games that they are willing to forsake their sleep time. Reason Number 4: Students today are so hooked up with the Internet and Instant Messaging that sometimes, unknowingly, they use the computer till the wee hours. Reason Number 5: They are so used to sleeping late that they can’t turn in early! The above are just some of the many reasons why teenagers are not getting enough sleep.
