Yay, last week of this SEM.
Yes, once again, i have disappeared from the surface of this earth. This time is not my fault, aside that i have been really busy lately, i had to send my laptop to repair, as my comp crashed due to some stupid good-for nothing trojan. So my comp is totally 'empty', everything is gone and cleared. Sigh... sad....
Well, the last 2 weeks was major hectic. I have been staying back in Uni until 6,7,8 pm. I am totally worn out, rushing assignment, projects and reports. Glad it's over. Now just my finals, then sayonara, first Sem is over, and i can say bye to Dynamics and PSA. WHee!! Just one more month to go... so far yet so near... Then here comes holiday...

Happy Mothers' Day
Happy Mothers' Day to all...
This year, i decided to be special. No point buying her accessories, handbags, make-up, shoes, clothes etc... She can easily get those stuff. This year would be something different. My present was prepared months ago. I saw it in January when i was shopping, and I knew this was the present i want to give. It is a status, more like a plague i think, made from pewter; with a monkey on top. At the bottom, engraved, "Best Mother Award". It is rather cute.

Instead of a monkey, she was also entitled to a free spa. We went to try out the fish spa today. Fish spa is becoming a hit, maybe because no chemicals are used. I only wonder where do they dispose the fishes after that. What if they throw it back to the fish? Then we will be eating our own dirt. Eww!
When u put ur leg into the pool, the fishes will start 'biting' you. It is really really really ticklish. So people who are scared of tickle, especially if their leg is really sensitive, do not try it. When i put my leg in, and the fishes came, i started screaming. Everyone start to look at me. But seriously, it is so 'geli'... think this will be the first and last time i am going to try this.
For those who have not try fish spa, go on and try it.

Silly/ dumb machine
Whee! We just completed our Lab 4 today. The title of the the lab is Rube Goldberg, better known as Silly Machine. I would just call it, dumb machine. The objection of the experiment, apparently is the understand the motions better, but to me, it is just a killer experiment.
First, we are to build a structure with 5 components to off an alarm clock.Imagine one big big machine just to off one small pathetic alarm clock, when the alarm clock is just a slam away. =s Each components will carry out on motion.
The 5 motions are:
1. Rotating (under a fixed axis)
2. Falling under gravity through air
3. Oscillating ( 1 full period)
4. Sliding
5 Rolling
It seems easy, but with a few extra rules, it just kills the fun from this experiment. First, no motion can be repeated. 2nd, only one motion can be executed at one time. 3rd, only ONE object for One motion. 4th, everything must be limited to a 1m x 1m space. 1m might seem long, but when you have a box which is already half a meter, 1m is just damn bloody small. 5th, is the worst rule, the whole thing must be at least 20 seconds. It was the longest 20 second of everyone's life. We had to try to lengthen our motions to fullfill the 20 sec.
Our first one took a pathetic 5 sec to complete all 5 motions. We were just worried, how the hell are you going to make it 20 sec? it is impossible! We modified our whole structure, actually i will reconsider it rebuild. It took us the whole weekend.
This was our initial track for the sliding.

Then we changed the whole track

This was our initial large cone, where the marble was suppose to roll and roll and roll till the bottom

But the time was not long enough, and the cone was damn bloody large, so we changed to pipe. Wrapping it around the box.

So from our big big big structure, which is as 'tall' as me, and requires a ladder

we build something till around me shoulder.

I know the structure is quite ugly, but we used everything we had at home. My mother called our structure raw, saying we reuse all the material, when we are to build our own structure, with woods, bamboo and yada yada yada. But who cares, ours work well. It was a success!
Overview of the structure.

Labour Day
May 1st = Labour Day = Holiday.
This says all. Everyone is on a holiday, but the malls seems to be working OT. Practically all the malls are packed with people, guess this is how people waste their time when they have no work. They don't seem to mind being trapped in the jam to go shopping. Everyone seems to be in a very good mood, that i was a little annoyed when everyone was being nice when i was driving. They were being gentlemen, slowing down and giving me way. Not that im complaining but this rarely occurs, everyone seems to be rushing somewhere always. It was just rather awkward when everyone is being Mr Nice all of a sudden.
One more month before my Sem ends. Everything seems to be piling with all the assignments due on the 11th week. Subject after subject, completing one task after another... This is why i have been pulling the 'disappearing' act recently, but it seems, to a lot of people, i have been disappearing for a rather long time. But i really have no idea why... =p
Been a labour the whole day, im dead.

Sick
I should start counting the numerous times i am sick this year only. Is this a bad year for 'Snakes'? Health wise. I seem to keep getting sick, from cold to food poisoning. Sigh. Been sick for 3 days already.
Today our Physics lecturer walked out during half the lecturer. He was pissed that 'some' of us weren't listening and was talking instead of paying full attention to him. It reminded me when i was in form 2. The teachers, i think for Maths and Geography, was so angry that they walked out of the class. Lolz, it was quite mean, but class ends after that. This time was different. Most of us were actually listening to him, i wont say we were absolutely silent, but it was rather quiet.

Hide and Seek?
Yay! My mid sem test is over. *Phew* Next up, my finals!!!! My exam timetable just came out yesterday, and i realised that i have 1 week between my 2nd last subject and my last subject. What a dread! It is good in way, but we do want to get over it as soon as possible. Then we can have a longer break before we start our 2nd sem,in July. Luckily, it finishes on the 20th, then i can go watch the 'Beauty and the Beast' musical on the 25th. Whee!!
Recently i did a simple health check by NKF where they take your urine sample and blood test. They check for kidney problems and diabetes i think, not exactly sure. But when they did the blood test, my sugar level was quite high, above average. The lady said maybe it was because i just ate my lunch that is why it is a little higher than usual, but im not really sure what is the problem. She advised me to do a proper body check-up...Yikes!

Yay, 3 down and 1 more to go. I just finished my third test today. It was such a dread having to study for tests. I wondered how did i actually coped with 11 subjects during my SPM years. Now, taking 4 subjects is already difficult, how in the world did we survived SPM years?! I'm glad it was done and over!
But Uni life just breeze throught very fast. I am already halfway through this sem, and 6 more weeks to go, i'm done with first Sem. 13 weeks of study only. Compared to school life, although Uni life is damn bloody hectic, but i bet mostly everyone enjoys uni better than school (except those who took med, it is just so... too stressful). But i realised school life is more meaningful. You make friends that stays for life, unlike Uni where you just see some during lectures or tutorial and thats it. No more joining stupid societies together. No more breaking unreasonable school rules together. No more skipping class together and making stupid excuses for being absent. No more gossip hours. Sometimes, i do miss the old times....

Great! One good news and one bad news. Let's go with the bad news first. I was knocked by a Black car (not sure about the model, might be a Toyota CRV), i think the number plate is WQD8181. The driver and a kinda round guy and think a little botak too. This time was totally his fault. He was behind me and trying to cut into my lane. What an A** driving so fast! When he hit my car, both of us signal and went to the side, but he got out of his car, checked his car, seeing that his car is fine, drove off. I was like WTF, 'HIT AND RUN', too much. To make things worst, i was going to sell my car the next day. How am i going to sell it when there is this big crack at the bumper?
The good news was i am getting a new car. Whee!! Ok, my mom is driving the new car while i get her Honda City, but i'm fine with it, after all the City is only 2 yrs old. Best of all, the steering is so light, u can easily control it with one hand. Shhh! =p

Back again?!
Half a year since i actually blogged. I just realised everytime i start blogging again is because Sam will start complaining why am i not blogging. It is like a totally disappeared from the Earth's surface.
Life been really hectic since i started Uni at Monash. The course is not the hardest course (compared to Med- really MAD.. they have classes 6 days a week fyi) but it is not the easiest course either. But my course has been really interesting, compared to high school, sorry to say. I have 2 lab experiment which involves egg. I am kinda sick of egg now, whenever i eat it, i feel like puking. Breaking like practically more than 1,2 dozens egg is really wasting, but as what my tute will said, u paid 17.5K, how much does a few eggs cost?
Now, i am halfway through the Sem, 6 weeks down, but 6 weeks more to go. Will be having my mid sem test next week. I have to go back on a SATURDAY to take the exam. Sigh. At least i'm halfway through my Sem, next thing i know, it will be done. finishto... Whee! Cant wait for that.
First experiment where we were to build a vehicle to transport our egg to a maximum distance
Our complicating yet simple structure to save our poor egg from cracking after being dropped from a height of 1 to 3m.
We did quite ok, dropped it from a height of 2.2 m with the height structure being 4.1cm......
But still have a long way to go.....
