Roe Family Time

We have been enjoying our visit with Meme, who arrived on the 15th, & Ryan & Liz, who came on the 19th.  We were busy & the time flew by, as usual!  Here are Mom & the boys in front of the Battleship on the Cape Fear River last Monday.  Filson missed all the downtown fun while he was at school.
On a trip to Orange Leaf Monday afternoon, 1 of at least 3 Frozen Yogurt shops we visited in the past week : )
His big brothers try to share, but this one refuses to eat ice cream or FroYo....how can he be my child?!?
Ian cuddling up with the Orange Leaf bear.

Ian picked out some new goggles on one of his many shopping trips with Meme & wore them in the tub, to the beach, & any chance he could.  Here his little brother tries them out.

Cruising to dinner Thursday night.
Dining at Dockside

Cuddling on the couch with Uncle Pups & Aunt Liz

For the first time in 3 years, John did not have to spend his birthday on the road for work : )  We gathered a group of 15 friends & had dinner at this restaurant on the river, then met up with some others at a concert.  It was a beautiful night & we had lots of fun celebrating.

So this is what Forty-Three looks like ; )

Grant's "Cheese" face....he's definitely not camera shy!

Sunday we took the boat out for a day at the beach.  The boys had fun swimming & digging for crabs to show to Meme, Ryan & Liz.
These two love Meme's visits, because they get to "camp out" in her room every night.  (John & I love it, because it's no longer us they're waking up at 5am!) After a long day on the beach, they were struggling to keep their eyes open while watching "The Land Before Time" before dinner.
Uncle Pups taking Boo-G outside to swing
Playing with legos this morning
Mr. "Cheese" showing off his new tshirt
Getting some last cuddles in before they packed up today
A trip to Wrightsville Beach for lunch before heading to the airport.
Luckily Filson's school had a teacher work day, so he was able to spend the day with us, too.
The cute Newlyweds

Uncle Pups gave Filson a 3-D puzzle before he left, & Meme helped him get started on it this afternoon.
A stop at Fuzzy Peach tonight for 1 last Frozen Yogurt treat before Meme heads home.

These are a couple pictures from the night before Mom arrived.  John & 6 other dads took the kids out on their boats & camping on the beach for the night, 9 kids in all.  They had a great time & I'm sure are looking forward to doing it again & I enjoyed the peace at home with just little Grant & I!

Fall

There was a lot going on at the Playdough table Saturday morning

We put on our Hawkeye & Gamecock gear & headed to Wild Wings for some football Saturday afternoon.  The boys need some new SC shirts so they can represent a winning team ; )

All 3 boys have been sick over the past week, so it felt good to get outside & get some fresh air yesterday.
They pretend this playhouse is their "home"
If you look close, you can see Filson has perfectly hung the bike helmets, set his skateboards up & lined up all 3 bicycles against their house. He like's everything in it's "place".....sadly, I know where he gets that from!!!

Little Guys

Here are the little guys yesterday, ready to start back to Mom's Morning Out at the church at Wrightsville Beach.  They were excited & were worn out when I picked them up!  I was probably more excited than them for that 3 hr break : )  I had an awesome morning on a SUP (stand up paddleboard) with a friend, so was probably more worn out than them as well!
We're all settling into the school routine.  It was nice to have an extra day to chill out after a fun weekend on the boat & pool parties with friends.  A couple of the boys are fighting fevers/sickness, but it doesn't seem to be slowing anyone down too much!
The talented photographer from Ryan & Liz's wedding posted a sampling of her pics this week.  If you have time, take a peek at the link below, you'll get an idea of the beautiful setting that surrounded us.

It's been a long time since Ian has gone to sleep in a crib, but this is how I found him one night last week.  I assume Grant was already out when his big brother climbed in, or I am sure I would have heard him protesting!
