Good Times

It's always a treat when Vada & Anna Leigh come for a visit! This weekend was gorgeous & we were able to get outside to the beach, the park & play in the yard. We were so excited to meet Auntie Katie & she was awesome with the kids. We had a blast, it just went by too fast, as always. And John probably hopes Patrick can make the next trip so he doesn't have to listen to so much girl talk!
If this is what he's getting into at 2, imagine what we'll have to deal with in 10 years

Chicken Dance

We have spent the last few Monday mornings at music class. The kids can choose from a ridiculous amount of child size instruments to play, do a craft & have a snack, so Monday mornings are a big hit with Filson!

I love our Little Chicken's wiggle...

Wilmington gets SNOW!

I know most of you have plenty you could have shipped our way, but we were happy to get our own last night! As promised, it started falling last night. Everything was very pretty today. The sun is shining now & it is mostly gone, so we're glad we played in it first thing this morning.

Can you tell we just rolled out of bed & headed out the door?!?We may not have any coal for eyes, but we'll always have plenty of beer bottle caps : )

8 Months

It blows my mind that one month has passed since I took his last sock monkey photo. The days are really passing by quickly. Ian is healthy and full of smiles. He especially lights up when his brother is around & loves any attention from him. He is sitting up really well & spinning around on his belly, but no backwards or forwards motion yet. I find it quite nice to still be able to sit him down & know he'll be in the same spot when I return, and know my days of this luxury will soon be over! He mastered the art of feeding himself this month. We must not have been doing the feeding job quite quick enough for his liking before, because now when he sees us pull out any finger food, he flails his arms & squeals with delight.

Growing Boys

Ready for an afternoon with the Guys
Concentrating on getting the Puff from hand to mouth
Trouble, with a capital "T"

Brotherly Love
I know it doesn't look like we have left the house recently, as all of our pics are from the same spot in our living room & many with the boys in their pjs. But despite the evidence, we haven't been complete hermits. We have however, cut back or shortened some of our outings over the past 2 weeks since Filson stopped wearing diapers. Due to my anxiety from fretting over when the next accident could occur, I found myself scheduling our time away from home very carefully! I probably know how much you all care about our son's potty habits.....yeah, not so much : ) ....so I'll spare you the details & just say we are all very happy he has transitioned into big-boy pants.
Last Saturday was a wet & dreary day, and I took the chance to take Filson to the movie theater for the first time. We saw Alvin & The Chipmunks, which he did like, just not nearly as much as he liked the popcorn! Ian got to spend the afternoon grabbing beers with Dad & the guys, I'm sure a very educational outing for him.
Ian had his 6 mth check up on Wed (yes, a little behind the times as he turns 8 mths on Fri). He weighed 17lb 12oz (25%) & is 28" (70%). He is healthy & very happy, batting his eyelashes & flirting with the doctor & med student during the entire visit. He has started feeding himself finger foods & his big brother gets a kick out of watching this event.
We went to music class, story hour & spent some time at the Children's Museum this week & then were excited for John to get back to town last night. We met friends this morning at Home Depot to do the children's activity & then grabbed lunch at the beach. Tomorrow we'll be joining our neighbors to stuff our faces while we watch the big game!
