Fit for Fun

Wednesday morning I took the boys to Fit for Fun. I met another mom there who is in a photography class & she took these pics of the boys & sent them to me. I love the shot of the little toes!
Yesterday we visited the library in the morning, went to a friend's 2nd birthday party in the afternoon & then headed to Hamburger Joe's last night when John came back into town. We have been on the go this week....so everyone has been worn out & sleeping great at night : )

The Roll-Over

Dressed up to head to a party with Mom on Saturday
Check out that Farmer Tan!
Little Man's checking out the beach scene
Little Ian rolled over from his stomach to his back yesterday. I didn't see it happen & wasn't 100% sure that his Big Brother hadn't actually pushed him on over to his back. But today I had Filson outside with me for a few minutes & it happened again, so I know it was Ian using his own muscles this time!
John & Filson got in some boat time on Sunday while Ian & I ran errands. It sounds like they had a really good time playing in the sand & looking for fish. Last night the 3 boys all stayed home alone for the first time & I went out for a girl's night. I didn't get any calls & there was nothing to report when I returned, so I guess I wasn't missed too much! It seemed a bit cooler here this morning, so I took the boys to the park for awhile & took a walk around their pond looking for turtles & fish. That "cool" feeling wore off quickly as it had shot back into the 80s by the time we headed for home. John had to take off for VA this morning, so we'll try to keep ourselves busy for a couple days until he returns for the weekend.

Back to reality

Just a couple of random pics from this week. It took a couple of days, but we're back in the groove of things here at home. We had playgroup this morning & Filson had a really good time with all the other kids. Ian slept through most of it & then sat in his car seat observing all the action for about the last 20 minutes, so I actually got to sit around & chat with the other girls for awhile. Filson's new thing is to go out & find as many baby frogs as he can in the front yard, which is what he has collected in the plastic container above. He also had an exciting treat from Dad when we returned from Iowa....a new tank with 2 goldfish! As if the 4 of us & Cooper didn't create enough chaos around this house, we now have Blake & Red Hat thrown into the mix. Filson is really excited about checking on his fish every day, so let's hope Mama can remember to feed them daily so they can have a long & prosperous life ahead of them!

2 Months

This guy turned 2 months old while in Iowa & he changed so much while we were gone! He has really filled out & is smiling & cooing for us. His hair has begun to disappear on top, so he's beginning to sport the mullet that his big brother had when he was first born! He continues to sleep great & even slept through the night these past 2 nights back in NC, although now that I've said that I'm sure he'll have us up 10 times tonight ; )

Fun in Iowa!

Uncle Dan & Filson
Filson loves farm animals, and he hit the jackpot as he had a horse in the backyard to check on daily, cows in the field across the street, and people from the Amish communities going by the house in their horse & buggies multiple times a day. Here he is on Uncle Dan's shoulders looking for the horse & watching the field get mowed by a tractor.

Everything in Iowa was so pretty and green and we had great weather...perfect for a day at the course!

Filson loved the playgrounds at the school & Judge Lewis Park. They have added a lot of new equipment, but a few of the things, like the teeter-totter & tunnel below, were things I played on when I was in school.

We had a really great time in Iowa! The two weeks flew by as we were able to visit lots of family & friends we had not seen for awhile. The best part was all the time the boys were able to spend with Grandpa & Grandma. It is sad that they are not able to see each other more often, but they made a lot of great memories in the time they had together!
I definitely had my hands full on the flights, but the boys were both great & it all went very well. We made it back Thursday evening & have spent the last couple of days trying to get back into a routine at home. The only thing we didn't like about our vacation was not having John with us. It was a really long time to be apart and we were all very excited to be reunited with him at the airport. Filson was so cute running down the hallway into his dad's arms, it's too bad we couldn't have had his expression on camera.
Today we took a little drive to Carolina Beach to get out & enjoy the day & spend some time together. We grabbed lunch at the Tiki Bar & waded in the water & enjoyed the nice weather. I have a hard time believing that summer is already coming to an end. It seems that we have been on the go since June & the time has flown by.
