Cries in the Drizzle
so many questions so little time, hows your uncle, your mom? your well being?! i only can spend so much time with you before its time to go home, back to where you belong. hmmm i guess ill ask more the next time we meet. haha.
Cries in the Drizzle, by Yu Hua, i so wanna read tt book. described by Time mag tt its a "lachrymose novel that quickly becomes a caustic indictment of Confucian famiilial ideals, and expose of the "deadness of family life"
Strange grosteque scenes depicting how a bride bawls when molested by her father-in-law and a son that cowers into the void after a canine kills and eats his feeble mother, a drunkard drowns in a cesspit. Some how his characters always suffer at the icy hands of fate and are bound to end up with the stangest of fates, one that would almost be of a freak show, one tt should not have happened.... freaky the least i must say. kinda ironic makes you think and wonder how does Chance revolve and pick their targets.
