Well I knew that when I started a blog that I would have trouble actually writing things down frequently. So, I'll fill in the gaps from the last few weeks.
Last week we spent the week in Destin, FL with Matt's parents and Mattie. It was fun! I will say that this was our first vacation with Mattie and it went better than expected. Unfortunately, our biggest problem was that she did not sleep in her bed any night of our "vacation". She has a specific routione at home that we follow pretty closely. Every now and then we veer from the routine and we usually pay in the sleep department. So needless to say that she slept in the queen size bed with Matt and I every night. I am quite the stickler at home when it comes to Mattie sleeping with us. I just don't let it happen. I don't want it to become a habit that can't be broken. Because we all know the longer you let them do something that the longer it takes to break the habit.
Anyway... Mattie loved the beach! She liked the sand and the water and especially the birds. She would inch her way up to the birds until she could make them fly away. She got a kick out of that :) We also went Destin Commons (Thank you Edie for suggesting that) and Mattie ran through the water on the splash pad. She loved it!
All in all, we had a great trip. Although, I'm afraid it will be quite awhile before I want to spend 12 hours in a car with an almost 2 year old.
So ready for Summer to end and for Fall to begin. When the weather changes from Summer to Fall is my favorite time of year. It means football, chili, and getting to wear sweaters. It also makes me really ready for the holidays :) Anyway, hopefully I will blog more often than I have.
This is my life....it's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get

Hate when this happens!
This morning I dropped Mattie off at school and there was this poor little boy just screaming. Apparently it was his first day and he was not happy about it. The teachers tried to comfort him in every way possible, but he was not having it. Well of course when I sat Mattie down at the table to eat, she started to cry. Not only was she crying, but she was also saying "momma, momma" :( I unforunately am one of those mothers that hates to leave her child upset at daycare. This rarely happens with Mattie so I usually don't have to worry about it. This morning, however, was an exception. Needless to say before I got out the door, I was crying. Between my own child and the other little boy, I just couldn't take it and my tender heart got the best of me. I'm sure this happens to a lot of other mothers, but you hate when it happens to you.
I also think Mattie is going through a phase. She has begun to cry when I leave or her Dada leaves. I thought this happened earlier than 20 months, but we have recently started it. I hope it doesn't last long!

We'll see how this goes
I've been thinking about starting a blog for several months and have finally decided to do it. No one may really care what I have to say..... and that's fine :) I just wanted to do this mainly for myself. Funny things happen to me all the time- at work, at home, WalMart, wherever. And I just want to start sharing them. This also a good way for me to catalog what's going on in my life. It also gives me the opportunity to talk about Mattie (my beautiful, precious daughter). Hopefully, I will write something on here at least once a week. I'm going to make a concious effert to do so. So, anyway "Happy Blogging"!
