SNOW DAY

So....it snowed Virginia, not sissy Seattle-wanna-be-snow. Real snow, Provo-ish if you will. So, since no one in Virginia really knows how to handle it...they canceled school! France & I got to stay home today! Here are a few pics from just moments ago......

This is a neighborkid, he doesn't own snow stuff, if you look
closely he has store bags tied on his little feet. Too cute.

This is Stella covered in snow.
She hasn't seen snow in a while, she didn't really miss it though.

This is in front of our apartment. Neat.

This is behind our apartment. Cool.

Yeah for snuggling, hot chocolate and canceled school!

Salsa!

So France likes to make salsa, and I like to eat it. It starts out like this...

And ends up like this....

And we end up like this....

David Archuleta!

Hey ya'll! I was supposed to be out of town when David was going to be IN town, but then I stayed in town and Ashley Olsen went out of town leaving Mark with two tickets that we took off his hands and ended up at the David Archuleta concert at the National. He blew us away.

After le concert in front of the stage (mind you I have the flu).

Singing 'Love Song'

What a little teenage cutie pie, the 11-years-(and their mothers) were going CRAZY!

He was so cute, he asked us not to push to hard forward so we wouldn't hurt anybody, and then he giggled.

Powerhouse vocals.

Leslie Roy was the Irish/RockerGirl opening act. Somehow the David Archuleta crowd was less than impressed. She did rock though. In a way.

Valentines

France and I got to celebrate our 2nd Valentines day! Yippee! :) Last year we spent the holiday by phone, I was in Disneyland (where else would I try to be?) and Francey was at school, but our cell phones and our hearts were connected (alltogether now 'awwwww').

This year we went to the MCV Campus Winter Ball where we literally danced the night away! I haven't been to a dance post nuptials and was stoked out of my mind to be getting my groove thang on with my hubby. Seriously, we had so much fun and France totally indulged me by dancing with me the whole time! Yeah! Thanks baby! I love you!

A ton of our friends were there and we were able to grab a group shot with Brian & Brittany Richman :)

Yeah for photo booths!

Ok, I always take pictures of France driving for some reason. It's probably because I can't sit still and there happens to be a camera in my purse, so I had to post at least one of the 7 or 8 I took that night!

PS VDAY was spent eating indian food and watching Oliver Stone's movie "W". Indian food and a movie, what could be better?! We love our masala and naan!

The 5 Browns

Hey Everyone!

France & I had the awesome opportunity to hear the 5 Browns, the 5 world-class pianists who also happen to be siblings. They played a sold out show on Saturday in Richmond and then put on a fireside that we were able to attend Sunday night. It was truly amazing, as I type France is practicing the piano on the imaginary Steinway in our office...jk.....

:) Classical music still rocks. The 5 Browns -- Ryan, Melody, Gregory, Deondra and Desirae -- are the sons and daughters of Keith and Lisa Brown from Utah who wanted their Mormon children to have music in their lives. The goal was to raise “five good people.” Not only did they achieve their goal, but they also managed to raise five great pianists. Each child at around age 3 showed a clear talent and interest in piano lessons, and while the children were introduced to other instruments, their passion was the piano. Playing came as naturally to them as eating or sleeping and as early as age 9 they had each made their debut with a major symphony orchestra-a major pay-off for the hours of practice and dedication the entire family had devoted.

When Desirae began to plan for college – Deondra, a year younger, decided to accelerate her education in order to attend with her sister – the family began looking into music schools and scholarships before deciding upon New York’s Juilliard School. One year later when Gregory, Melody and Ryan were accepted to Juilliard, they became the first family of five siblings ever accepted simultaneously and so the entire Brown family, along with their five pianos, moved from Utah to New York.
