Nana and Papa Visit

We were so glad when Nana and Papa Shawn said they were coming to visit after Jacob was born. They wanted ot give me and Jacob some time to rest so they took Xander and Skyler to the Zoo by our house.

Skyler wasn't going to get close enough to feed the goats, but Xander and Papa Shawn had a lot of fun.

They LOVE the Tiger, I think that it's their favorite animal at the moment.

Looking... Looking... Looking...
Not sure at what though

This was probably their favorite part of the whole trip. Sliding with Nana :)

Silly Tippetts Men

~My Crazy little Skyler~

On Veterans Day we attended a free breakfast at MSU for Veterans and their families.
They had a little bit of entertainment and then gave the history of the armed forces and recognized each branch of the military.
It was so great to be able to thank so many men and women for their service to our country.

Our Veteran
I am so proud of Derek. It's neat to be able to be reminded of what he has done for the United States. I know this Breakfast is one we will attend as long as we live in Springfield.

After the Breakfast they had 70 trumpets playing in honor of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for this country, their lives. they were scattered all across campus. It was so neat to hear.

We are so glad that Nana and Papa got to come and visit for the second time this year. We sure do miss them when they are gone!

Jacob's Blessing

Jacob was Blessed on Sunday November 7th, 2010
Derek had Guard Drill that weekend, and since this was the only time we would have Dad and Mom Tippetts around, we got special permission to do the blessing in our home.

We were blessed to have some of the most important Priesthood holders in our lives there to be a part of Jacob's blessing. (The only one missing was Derek's brother Paul, and we really wish he could have been there.) Uncle Charno, (Charles) Papa Jamie, Derek, Papa Shawn and our Home Teacher and dear friend Mike Miesner.
The Blessing was beautiful and the spirit was so strong in our home.

My Sweet Little Family
I think it's going to be a very long time before we will be able to get a picture with everyone looking in the same direction and smiling! :)

Our sweet little baby Jacob. We are so excited to have another boy. It has been such a joy to have him in our home. I love the spirit that comes into our home when we have a new baby.

Do you notice how we can't get Skyler to sit still and be calm for one picture?
:) He is a goofball and a hand full. I love how he is rolling his eyes in the middle picture, like, "Okay I am done NOW!" Ha Ha

Mommy and Jacob

I really do think we have some of the most adorable little men in the World :)

Halloween 2010

This year for Halloween it was a JUNGLE at our house.
About 3 months ago Alexander informed me that he wanted to be a tiger, when we went looking for a pattern Skyler saw a Turtle costume on one of the pictures and started balling because I wouldn't give it to him. So I caved.
We got the material and I succeeded in cutting out Xander's costume (note to self and everyone else, NEVER SEW WITH FAKE FUR!) that was a MESS and WAY to hard. Then I got about half of Skyler's costume cut out, and there they lay until the week of Halloween.
It's not like I wasn't busy, I did have a baby in there.
Well the week of Halloween I went down to Branson to help my mom sew a costume for my sisters. My wonderful mother helped me finish the boys' costumes, she is pretty amazing I think.
Here are the boys all dressed up in their costumes. I think they are THE cutest little animals ever. I don't know why they didn't win the costume contest.

Jacob is wearing the tiger costume that Xander wore his First Halloween too.
He was so stinking CUTE!
It was a great Halloween and we had so much fun at our ward's Trunk-or-Treat, and on Halloween we stayed home and had some good, fun family time.

~ Jabcob Lee Tippetts~

He is finally here!!!
October 18th, 2010 I woke up at 7:30am to two little faces grinning at me. I pulled Xander and Skyler in bed with Derek and I and after everyone was situated and comfy, I had to go to the bathroom.
Trying to get out of bed quietly 40 weeks pregnant is impossible, especially while trying to hold in a sneeze. :) But I made it! However my water broke after I got to the bathroom. Thankfully it was a high break, meaning that the baby wasn't coming right away and I hopefully had enough time to get in the antibiotics for my Group B Strep. So we had time to get everyone up, ready to go and we dropped the boys off at a friends house on our way to the hospital.

This is me 40 weeks pregnant and headed in to have our sweet baby Jacob. I am not really excited about the way that I look, but we kind of had to get to the hospital as quickly as possible!

After we got to the hospital at about 10am we spent about 30 minutes in Triage and then they put us in a delivery room. My doctor had the day off so the delivering doctor was Dr. Mary Duff. She wanted to give my body 2 hours to try and get into labor, but as it hasn't happened the last 2 times I knew my body wouldn't do it on it's own this time either.
So around 1pm the nurse put me on PIT and then the Epidural Doctor came in and gave me relief from my major pains. The PIT kicked in really fast and was making my contractions harder and more painful, so I was glad to get the Epidural.
My mom made it to the hospital just after 4, barely in time.
Then after all the really hard stuff...
JACOB LEE TIPPETTS arrived
it was 4:58pm - He was 6pounds 15 ounces and 21 inches long

Our first Mommy and Baby moments. He has my nose and his Daddy's forehead :)
And look at all of that dark hair, he is just beautiful.

Jacob is our biggest baby in height and weight so far, and he is still just a little guy :)
I can handle that

This is Jacob's First Bath in the Nursery

Finally his big brothers got to come and visit us. Xander and Skyler were so excited to see their new baby brother. They just wanted to sit and hold him.

Skyler's face is just priceless, he was so happy to see his baby.

Daddy and his boys. I love all of my handsome men

I wanted to see just how similar all my boys looked at 1 day old.
So I put a picture that I took of each one of them side by side.
They definitely look like brothers but each one has his own look also.

My Dad and mom took Xander and Skyler while I was still in the hospital, so we went down to introduce Jacob to everyone and get our little men a few days after I got to go home. So we pulled out the camera and got a few shots.

We are so happy to have little Jacob in our lives.
Heavenly Father has truly blessed us with another beautiful son.
