Game Time!

So the Phoenix Coyotes make it to game 7. Jason walks in the room, “want to go to the game? I’m on ticket master and I can get some great tickets.” I say “sure”. After all, I can’t believe that they Coyotes have made it this far. Granted, yes, they are a good team. My hear is still with the Kings and yes Gretzky did coach for the 'Yotes and has his jersey hung there for all to see.

Next thought, what are we going to do with Madison? We have had numerous offers for people to baby-sit. But I couldn’t really see asking someone to watch her for that long. So we ponder some more. I thought Drew Brees and what his little one wore. I decided to get Madison her very own pair of Ear Muffs by Banz.

Not only did she look adorable but she had a great time people watching and enjoying the game (or bright lights). It was funny that they pushed her little cheeks together as you can see above.

The disappointing part of the night? Well, the Coyotes got killed. And I mean badly! All in all, it was a great night. Now it's time to get ready for football season. We probably wont be taking her to an NFL game any time soon but we will be hitting up some ASU games.

Aloha!

I am way behind on updating this but we have been so busy that it has been hard.

I’m guessing many people have seen my Hawaii photos up on Facebook. Hawaii was amazing and Madison did so great. I have to tell you, it is a lot of work to take a baby there. She was such a trooper! We had a three hour delay in the Phoenix airport but she took it in stride. There wasn’t too much sleeping on the plane since she likes to see what’s going on. Although I am not a fan of US Airways, they took care of us and gave us an extra seat each time for her.

I think that the majority of the stuff we packed was for Maddie. She was definitely a beach baby. We stayed at the resort mostly which was gorgeous! There isn’t too much else to say about it so I’ll just leave you with more photos.

We brought along a tent for her to hang in that had SPF 50+ and there was even a day when we got her a cabana. Unfortunately, we were enjoying it so much that we didn't even get pictures of it.
Hawaii goes county event put on by Farm Bureau. Not sure what ever happen to a good old fashion Luau but it was fun.

Never a dull moment

It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve updated my blog and it probably has been forever in blog world. So much has been going on that I don’t even know where to begin.

Madison is changing every day and I didn’t believe it when people would say it but it is true. They do something new everyday. She rolled over last week (back to belly) and has decided since then that she hasn’t wanted to. She must’ve just wanted us to know that we can’t take our eyes off of her anymore. Her new thing is that she always wants to sit up. She can on her own for a little bit before leaning over one way or another. Peak-a-boo has also become a new favorite with her even initiating a game while in her carrier. Talking has seemed to be put on the back burner since she is so busy with other things but she still loves to “talk” in the morning and when falling asleep at night.

We have also added a new addition to our family. We decided to name him Logan. As you may know we, are big on names and our pets tend to get the “children names” we cannot use or didn’t use. Logan is a golden retriever we got from a client. He is a great dog and very smart. He isn’t too mischievous but on occasion he pulls his puppy shenanigans. Taylor tolerates him but loves to sit and growl. He doesn’t seem to care and continues to antagonize her.

In just a few short days we get to head to Hawaii! So exciting, but so stressful at the same time. {No, I don’t expect you to feel bad for us.} Madison’s stuff can take up all of the suitcases and I’m certain that we won’t even use half of the stuff we will take but need to for the “just in case” moments. I will do my best with taking photos but I admit I am terrible. It looks as though we will be heading back there in a couple of years too when my mom & step-dad renew their vows. She will be more aware of what’s going on and probably enjoy it a bit more. But at least when she complains when she’s older that we don’t go anywhere, I can show her the pictures.

I can keep going on for days but that’s about it. Just trying to be a mom, run a business and keep it together. Next mission is get rid of the last of the baby weight and be ready for summer that’s right around the corner.

Spring is here…

So glad that the weather is getting warmer! I have so many things that I cannot wait to do with Maddie. Although, I keep telling myself to slow it down, don’t rush it. I can’t help it. She’s getting to that great age – 3 months. She now has a schedule thanks to Babywise. She still isn’t sleeping through the night but we only get up once usually.
Some things that she is starting to do is coo at me (melts my heart every time), laugh (but not on a regular basis and she talks A LOT (which is awesome). She is also not content laying down, she wants to sit up and has started wanting to stand – with help of course. I have been better about video taping and once I figure out how to get it downloaded I’ll put some up.
That’s about it. Hopefully we will get her photos soon and I will post some more.

The Good, The Bad & The Funny

The Good
- Seeing that gummy smile
- Hearing her "talk"
- Comforting her when she cries
- Holding her while she sleeps
- Watching her sleep
- Dressing her in all of the cute clothes
- Shopping for the cute clothes
- Realizing a schedule is possible
- Watching her learn new things

The Bad
- Getting spit up on you & I don't mean a little bit
- Living with 3 - 5 hours of sleep at night
- Blow outs (where does it all come from?)
- The fussy times
- Giving up dairy, chocolate, caffeine & spices

The Funny
- Checking to make sure she's still breathing because I hadn't heard her stir in a bit & can't fall asleep until I do
- Getting so much enjoyment out of watching her poop & passing gas face
- Poop & gas
- Wiping spit up on your pants
- How does she go through so many outfits?
- Shooting her in the face when she pulls away while nursing

Meeting Madison

We had a great time during our short visit to California. But I have to admit traveling with a 5 week old was interesting to say the least. My Mom went way above and beyond with this shower and it was the best that I have seen (not that I'm partial). Madison enjoyed meeting all of her new aunties even though she did sleep through most of it. She got so many great things - especially the cutest clothes. I have to admit that I am the worst at picture taking so I didn't even get a group picture. I owe Lucia big time for taking a good amount of the pictures we did get.

My only regret with our visit is that we didn't get to see more people. And although we're not sure when we will be back again, we hope that it is soon.
Now that we're nearing week 7, I have so many new pictures I need to post and take. Although she's been giving us the beautiful gummy smile, I haven't had the chance to capture it in a picture yet. I guess I'm too selfish and I take every last second of it in.

Go Easy On Me...

Time to jump on the blogging band wagon and try this out. Since this year is bringing about a lot of change I think it's time we figure out a new way to let our friends and family know. The facebook status' don't really cut it anymore and the chances of my mom or Jason's mom signing up are next to none. So, we've decided to try this out. Please be patient as my blog will definitely not be as neat as many of my friends; at least at first it won't but I will get there hopefully.

As I mentioned, this year is going to be a big year of change. Firstly and most importantly, we have a Foster child that joined our family on December 18, 2009. For the record, she is indeed our child but I have a feeling that we will have a lot of fun with the "foster child" thing when she is older. Madison is a awesome addition to the family and I cannot imagine life without her (with the exception of the sleep depravation but I know that will pass). This is the only time I can imagine when people say, "they grow so fast," and my thoughts are "thank God!"

We have a few other huge changes in the works, but I don't really want to jinx anything just yet. So there's my very first blog, hopefully I didn't mess it up too bad.
