A newly discovered favorite!

As with a lot of people, I really love Fall.  But this year I've decided that September is officially the best month out of the year.  Still warm enough to do all of the things I love, but cool enough to enjoy being outside.  We found ourselves with a free weekend and decided to take advantage.  Steve was awesome to go along with whatever I had in mind.

Friday I decided that the homecoming game wasn't worth the effort with little kids.  Especially because it wasn't going to be a very good game.  So we called the Francoms and headed to Recapture instead.  The water is definitely getting colder.  Parker cried when he jumped in, but Steve just pulled in ladder and told him to suck it up and get on the knee board.  I think Parker would agree that it wasn't too cold after a minute or two.

Bronsen now weighs enough  that he can criss-cross the wake with ease.  He has started doing what he calls the "sideways boogie" so hopefully next year he will master a 360.

Saturday we went to the best place on earth . . . "the mountain".  We took 4-wheelers up the Camp Jackson trail.  What awesome views there are on that trail, especially with the leaves starting to change.

Then we headed down to "The Grove" for a picnic lunch.

 And some football!

By the time we headed back to Palmer Flats the little ones were wiped out!

At the camp trailer we cooked dinner and the kids played Race Horse.

Pretty much a perfect day!  (for a small town girl like me)

Anything But Labor

Wednesday, September 5, 2012

We finally made it to Lake Powell this summer!!
Steve's family and friends always go to the lake on Labor Day. This year Laici and Tyrel came down early and we got to have a day or two with just the Snyders.  Minus Mark and Madison, we missed you guys.  But it was a lot of fun.  The kids just love it down there.

We did a lot of this!
They did a lot of this!
This picture is for my mom.  To prove that we are very safe down there.  Life jackets until bed time!
Kade totally took over Jeannine's floaty.
Parker was determined to stand up on a knee board.  He is one persistent little guy!  By the end of the day he could stand and float for quite a while.  I guess it's time we get in to wake surfing.
 I'm ready too!
 Bronsen loves the tube!

Parker caught a big ole' small mouth bass! He's turning into quite the fisherman.
Look at that proud daddy!
Daddy loves his little girl.
We tried doubling up with the boys on the knee boards.  They couldn't really figure out how to cross the wake with the other kid there.  But still fun.
Does it look like Sienna is enjoying herself?

Not much labor in this Labor Day weekend for us!

Sienna has been so excited to start preschool.  I swear each one of my kids grows up a little faster.  Bronsen seemed so young when he was three, and Sienna seems so very ready to take on the world. Not the best picture of her (she cut her own bangs) but I guess that's how memories are made.

I have really been looking for a weekend to get away and go camping.  I just miss the mountain in the summer if I go too long.  Steve was bow hunting, so we pulled the trailer up to Palmer Flats and enjoyed a relaxing evening around the camp fire.
I love when little boys can just run around and not get into a lot of trouble.
I think Bronsen kind of wishes we were more of a cowboy type family.
 Sienna doing a snake dance!
