Wow. October, where did you go?

So we've had an eventful past month or so. The kiddos have been sick A LOT! Sam experienced his first stomach flu. He didn't eat for a couple days and only threw up only 4 or 5 times which we are grateful for. I also want to add that we are grateful for wood floors. It makes the clean up much easier:) Every night for a week he complained of his stomach hurting to the point where he was crying in pain...
During the week we went to the playground but he wouldn't even play there, he just layed against me while Noel played. We took him to see two different doctors...
One doctor ordered an ultrasound to make sure it wasn't appendicitis or intussusception. Both of those were ruled out. And the doctor concluded that it was just typical post stomach virus pain and it could happen for a few more weeks. That didn't sound right so we saw a second doctor a couple days later after the pain continued, had an xray done on his tummy and found that he was severely constipated. The tummy bug and not eating or drinking had contributed to that. After a couple suppositories over a few days, he was able to go on his own. Sheesh, our kiddos and their bowels. It's been rough.
Noel lost her first tooth. Morgan and Noel were playing catch with a small inflated ball in our backyard and it hit Noel in the face, she still caught it mind you, and then realized that her wiggly tooth had come out. She bled quite a lot but we assured her it was ok. I actually had to call my mom and double check with her to make sure it was ok that she bled so much;) It was our first child losing her first tooth, I don't know these things! Thanks mom for being there to answer my silly little questions:)
Sam went on his first field trip and he and his class went to a dentist office. He and a lil' girl in his class got to dress up as teeth. It was cute.
They each got to practice brushing a little dinosaur/dragons teeth.

We went up our canyon to a park.
We also tried out a different park in Provo. This place had a pond and ducks and pretty fall leaves.

Then we had General Conference. Morgan was out hunting with my brother on this particular day so it was just me and the kiddos. It was really great to listen to the leaders of our church and our prophet that weekend and the kids did really well during it.
We always do party hats for conference and have a General Conference Party to make it more exciting for the kids. They decorated their party hats during some of it.
Noel drew a picture of one of the speakers.
This is how Sam drinks his water sometimes from a water bottle. Ha!
Noel loves making cards for everyone and during conference she made me this little card. She is starting to read and spell things out and I love it.
We went over to Chris and Kareena's for dinner after conference on Sunday. I made this yummy oreo pudding dessert. It was DELICIOUS!
Noel had picture day earlier this month. I had to take a picture of this babe.
Then we were off to Arizona for my brother's wedding!! Sam was so excited...
...as well as Noel!:)
It was a beautiful marriage to witness in the Gilbert, AZ temple. Congrats Mikey and Caitlin! You both are so perfect for each other. We are so happy for you and thoroughly enjoyed our time in AZ with you and with family.

Noel and her cousin Maddie are best friends. Their relationship is full of hugs and squeals and giggles:)
Here's Mikey and Caitlin coming out of the temple after they were sealed for time and all eternity:) Love them.
Love this shot of the men!
At the luncheon afterwards.
The reception was beautiful and their was a lot of dancing. It was a wonderful evening to end such a wonderful day:)
Cutting the cake.
Last minute hugs before Mikey and Caitlin took off on their honeymoon.
The groomsmen had fun decorating the newlyweds car:)
This is how we found Sam in the morning before we left AZ.
After settling into the routine of being home, the kiddos came down with fevers and sore throats and were lethargic and had no appetite. We believe it was Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease. Their cousins had it while in AZ. They didn't develop any noticeable sores which we were grateful for but Sam complained of his mouth hurting when he ate certain foods. Luckily it was Fall Break for us and Sam didn't miss any school. Noel for some reason had school still for the first half of the week so she missed 2 of the 3 school days. Sam during that week developed a 2nd fever and a nasty cough. Noel developed the same thing last week and had to miss another day of school. Poor kiddos. They both have a nasty cough now but I think they are no longer contagious. Once they are fully healthy, I'm taking them to get the flu shot and hopefully that will help at least a little! In the picture below they were looking in each others mouths like I was doing constantly while they had hand foot mouth disease.
Noel's drawings are always so adorable.
She had her first Parent Teacher Conference and her teacher said nothing but great things about Noel. She is doing very well in class and behaves wonderfully. She is starting to read and is writing her letters so well. It's so fun to see her learn and progress.
For school she needed to draw a red devil. Isn't this the cutest devil you've ever seen? She didn't know what a devil is, so I told her it was a costume and showed her a picture of a tasteful cartoon devil costume and this was what she interpreted it as. She said she wanted to make a happy devil.
Because of circumstances and no time we weren't able to mow the law for 3 whole weeks. Wow. It was sooooo crazy long and took 2.5 hours to mow in the back by itself!
These are being sold at Costco. 5 lbs of pure Hershey's Chocolate. Isn't that huge?!!
We LOVE Costco. Sometimes we go just for their samples and to ride their ponies of course:)
Samuel had another field trip just last week. They went to the Springville Fire Station as well as a pumpkin patch. He had a lot of fun!

This is hopefully the only time we will see Sam in an ambulance.

At Jaker's Pumpkin Patch in the maze!
Giant Pig!
On the Tractor Ride.

This last weekend Morgan was gone camping with the cub scouts. The kiddos wanted to have a sleepover so they both slept in Noel's room on the floor. It was so cute.
I've been getting the itch to ready our yard for the plans we have for it next year. I took all of these cinder blocks out of the garden area, and cleaned all of the dirt and mud and weeds out of the inside of them and squirt them down and piled them up near our garage.

Morgan and I have been talking about getting rid of two trees in our backyard to make room for fruit trees on one side of the yard and a garden on the other. Randomly, without planning things out, I pretty much made Morgan go locate a chain saw in the neighborhood so we could take out these trees this last Saturday. After chopping this first one mostly down, a neighbor saw that we needed help, and brought over a bigger chainsaw and his truck and and helped us chop the rest of it down as well as the other and then helped load them into two different trucks and take them to the dump, two different times. So 4 total loads! Thanks Chris and Kareena for letting us use your truck as well!

Our backyard looks a little bigger. I'm excited to get these things done little by little to create our dream backyard. Now onto taking care of the stumps and hopefully planting fruit trees this fall and carving out a garden area for next year.
