Last night was my monthly Girls Night Out. We went to Cafe Rio for dinner and then went bowling. It was a different game of bowling..you could bowl normal for your first turn and if you didn't get a strike you had to do certain things such as turn around three times, bowl with your eyes closed, hop on one foot, wear a tiara, bowl between your legs, wear oven mitts..I am sure we were quite the sight for others to see. It was a fun time even if none of us even got over 100.

Tomorrow we are going on vacation! We are headed to sunny California for a week. It should be good times. We are driving to my Dad's in Mesquite on Friday night and then driving to California on Saturday. Jared's Mom & Dad have a time share that we are staying at. We will go to Disneyland and hang out in the warm weather (we hope!).

We have such great neighbors...really we do..they just had a baby and I was called on Friday to take them dinner on Saturday. I had Jared give them a call yesterday to make sure on the time and to see what they had the night before so I didn't take them the same thing. They invited us over to eat with them..and they just had a baby! After yesterday and the basement flooding again it was a nice little break. They are such awesome people..we went and got us pizza & breadsticks and hung out and chatted with them! Thanks a bunch Dimonds...you guys are truly awesome!

Rain, Rain go away!

This may very well be the reason we don't finish our basement. Last year it happened in a different window..can you say crappy builders! The water is coming in from the sides of the window well. Hopefully today Jared and his Dad will be able to get some of the mud out of there so the water has somewhere to drain. At least not a lot got ruined..maybe just the insulation right by that window. Pray for the rain to stop!

Left in Charge

As I mentioned in an earlier post the teacher I work with was gone last week after she fell and hurt her hip. When she is gone I have to take over the class and be in charge. I left early on Wednesday to go to the dentist and the other 2nd grade TA came to our class. I found out today that one of the boys in the class went home that day and told his Mom that the class was left all alone with no supervision, he told them when it was time for recess, what there homework was..etc..and was left in charge..the sad thing is his Mom actually believed him and called up the Director of our school. Of course she knew that didn't happen. My question is..would you believe your 7 year old if they came home and told you that they were the teacher for the day? I mean really what did his Mom think, I was under the table taking a nap or something?

Sundance Film Festival 2009

We decided that we would go up to Park City and see what the Sundance Film Festival was all about. There really wasn't any good movies that we wanted to see so we just walked around and tried to see some famous people...the closest I got was seeing one of the girls from Good Things Utah, which really wasn't that special. Jeff went with us, we tried to find a parking place behind Main Street which was impossible, unless you wanted to pay $20 to park. Then we drove up to Deer Valley and parked for free and rode the free shuttle down to Main Street, the shuttles were there quick, so if you want to go up remember that. We went to eat at the Red Banjo..a good place we have at eaten before but they were soooo busy it took forever to get our food. Of course we also did some shopping at the outlets and got some good deals. Jared got 2 pairs of shoes for $40..that is the only place we can find him shoes...size 15. Overall I would said it was a fun experience, next year Jared wants to get tickets to see one of the shows, and maybe we could stay in the time share in Midway..that would be fun!

Nothing really exciting is happening in our lives right now. I just know that I am ready for the weekend. This week has been a long one, the teacher I work with fell on the ice and got hurt, she was gone Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I went to the Dentist on Wednesday and got my teeth cleaned, got paid today and have no money once again because I had to pay some bills..that is just life! I am ready for a few days off of work, time to relax. Jared wants to go and see his Great Aunt this weekend, she is not expected to live very much longer, she has cancer and they just put her into an assisted care facility..so we will go and visit with her.

I had a wedding shower to go to today in Davis County. Emily was a girl that worked with me a few years ago at the Afterschool Program, and has stayed a friend. I met up with my friend Marcia and we went to the shower together where we met up with Amber. We always had a fun time at work, it was good to see all of them. We also saw our boss Michelle who came to the shower as well. It has been about 3 years since I worked there so it was fun to catch up. Afterward Marcia, Amber, Amber's boyfriend and I went to eat dinner at Robintinos in Bountiful. We always seem to end up there when we go out to eat. Jared went with his parents and sister to the hockey game so I am sure he didn't miss me at all!

Well life is back to normal, the holidays are over and school is back in session! I am so ready to be done with snow, and ready for warm weather. We are going to Disneyland in a month, and I hope the weather there is warm..at least there will be no snow! I guess I will have to survive for a few more months of hibernating indoors.
Not much is really going on with us right now. We enjoyed watching the Sugar Bowl..a few days after on our DVR. Jared had inventory that night, they got done about 9:00pm and he stayed there to watch the final six minutes. I started on my way to get him but the snow was blowing across SR73 and I got scared and turned around at Smiths down the street. Jared was dropped off at his parents and brought the Jeep home that night. He thinks I am a wimp when it comes to driving in the snow, which is probably true, it isn't that fun and I don't like sliding down the road and having no control over my car. Good thing I work close to home!

New Year

Happy 2009! I can't believe how fast this past year has flown by. The years just go faster and faster. Last night we went to Jared's parents and had some yummy prime rib with his family and my brother Jeff & Becca. Then we played on the Wii for awhile and Jeff showed us how bad we are at Guitar Hero..really just how bad I am! It was a good time. We were home by 11:00 because Jared was so tired and he fell asleep while I watched the ball drop in Time Square, and then I went to bed shortly after..we are getting old, we can't even make it until midnight!
