For Jon's birthday this year, we painted on canvas at The Saddle Club ! Initially, I was worried that Jon wouldn't think that it's cool to go painting as a birthday activity. When I told Ian, he said, " HAHA. Sure. If painting is your idea of a par-tay." -.- Anyway, it was quite a blast creating something together. My first try painting on canvas!! I felt so established. haha.

He painted the bare tree next to us and added red flowers that are absolutely charming ( the painting is tons nicer compared to this ugs photo I took using photobooth !!! Lots of texture and character.) while I tried to do a Jackson Pollock using acrylic. I'm gonna up my gey-kiang-ness and try my hand at using oil paints instead next time.

AND the next photo is dedicated to LEE YING:

LEE~ YING~, CRANBERRY ALMOND CRUNCH !!! I couldn't resist buying it at Coldstorage!!! IT IS MUCH MUCH CHEAPER HERE!! I even bought the shredded seaweed and will serve it pan-chan style during dinner next time!!! and I'm craving for leng myun since Singapore too hot to handle. THTH! Totally missing eMart Moments and Cheonggyechon Chats with Random Uncles!!!!! Can't wait for lunch tomorrow!! ( If you are reading this on 22/2, don't forget we have lunch 2mw!)

okay. Other cool Coldstorage finds!

Green and Black's Organic Hot Chocolate! It was pretty pricey so I bought the smaller tin. Hope the powered hot choc is as good as its chocolate bars.

Organic Indian Chai! It was $6.65 for 20 pkts for Clipper, which sells fair trade products. Lipton sells its Chai for $8.95 for 20 pkts. Crazy.

That's all, folks!

I'm very cheery today, aren't I! Maybe it is because I stayed home in the afternoon and did fruitful things like research for group projects and supermarketing. I also started the day with Q.T and bought Clover a fat meaty bone... spoke very briefly to Krist and Liy, replied Sel.. and was excited over Char's first day at MinDef! Oh and had dinner with BOTH grandmas :) home cooked food + family = Love.

tata!

A L E R T!

There's the most gorgeous paper shop in Singapore at Raffles City- Paper Market.
Everything in the store is so pretty, alone or put together... I wanted to buy a whole bunch of stuff but considering how a basic piece of patterned paper starts from $1.90 and alphabet chip board cut outs start from $7.90 for 2 sheets... I think that I will just leave all things pretty from Paper Market as a hugeasssss birthday hint. * HINT HINT. teehee.

It's interesting that Paper Market has a tie-up with Laine's Papeterie for the latter's Scrapbook Design University- seeing as to how Paper Market is its immediate competitor ( not only a direct competitor but immediate cos' only Laine's Papeterie stocks scrapbook craft materials of the same level of sophistication.. not the generic, flimsy stuff you can find at Urban Write or Popular.). Maybe the competition isn't intense enough- as a consumer, it would be nice if the competition were tight enough for a price war ( okok. maybe the materials ARE very expensive to start with... ) but not too intense that the businesses will no longer be sustainable. Then, we'd ALL lose out :(((

Girls, you HAVE to visit Paper Market at the basement of Raffles City!

I learnt a new term recently. FTW= For The Win. It seems like a really cool term to use now... cooler than gg or even ggxx or even the legendary zomggxx. And I shall attempt to use it!

I didn't receive flowers ( gasp!) or attend a fancy dinner or have sweet nothings whispered into my ear last Sunday ( saying or typing ' V day' in full makes me cringe already!). In all honesty, I'm glad that Jon did nothing overly mushy because I don't need to feel anymore special than this. The first day of CNY, his afternoon was spent playing mahjong with my cousins and humouring my Popo. On the second day, I felt unwell after visitations and Jon came down to help me feel better . ( Dad thinks I have a case of ADD. which I don't. I did feel sick... but whether I was sick is a different matter!) And today ( on his birthday), he suggested that we watched a video at my place instead incase mum felt lonely since dad's in London...

I guess it is easy to take little things like these for granted and they may not be anything worth mentioning to some.. but I think that it does matter and I'm thankful that it's there.

Jon FTW !!!

A sneaky peeky into my room:

I love the baroque mirror and modern french dresser!
The dresser reminds me of Beauty and the Beast :)
Wish I could purchase talking furniture and house hold appliances.

On another random note, I have been thinking about this pair of mock croc Tui shoes that have been stocked at Quintessential. It's an incredibly comfy pair of flats and I do need flats for school.. Light brown is such a versatile colour so I would only need one good pair of flats to last me through this sem ( and the next. and the next.)

and this pair of pretty flats from Wondershoe!
I chanced upon www.wondershoe.com while surfing www.tongueinchic.com and now I am also addicted to www.littlemissdressup.com and dianarikasari.blogspot.com. The Filipino girls of littlemissdressup are very creative and while I prefer the Phil- based girl, the girl studying at Edinburgh has an interesting style. Diana's from Indonesia and I don't like her wardrobe much but she is really cute! I like how they aren't pretentious and are tons of fun.

and alldressedup always has very comfy pieces with such interesting details.. the mj store at Taka always always has something I really wanna get... ah, the pain of window shopping!

At least the carpet is very soft. Now the chairs at the bar counter don't go... but I'll shut it and do my own thing in my room. Mum has been working awfully hard to get the place ready by CNY! Although the furniture don't match and our carpet is an eyesore, it shouldn't matter because home is the people and not the building. ( Just like how the kingdom of God isn't a physical man-made building! )

Have I mentioned how Tuesdays are good days? It starts really early..
7.30am: leave the house and brace myself for the bad traffic ahead.
7.50am: pick Jon up for school :)
9.00am: Asian Markets class, which is really entertaining + Lee & Pei
12.00pm: lunch with Liy/ Sond/ Korea Kids
1pm-6pm: study in school with Liy
6-10pm: dinner with Liy/Jon and study.

I'm very glad that Liy and I are meeting up more this sem in school. It feels like school again!
aja aja fighting!
