Update: All Things Christmas Break

GINGERBREAD HOUSE
Who doesn't love making gingerbread houses? This year I made one with Bushka, my brother and my sister. It was fun and we got pretty creative. Garrett, who was in charge of the backyard, constructed dog poop out of rootbeer bottle-caps and deer droppings out of nerds. So, I made a dog out of various candies in the front yard. We completed our house with an ice skating rink made of aluminum foil and I wanted to make a pretzel man to skate on it. I attempted to make one but he just wouldn't stay together so he was made into a pretzel ice-skating man that crashed into the side =] He was my favorite.

SLEDDING, SKATING & SNOWBOARDING

So instead of going to Jackson Hole over New Year's weekend my family stayed home and made our own resort in a sense. My sister had never been sledding, skating or skiing so those where the activities decided upon for the weekend, even thought my poor mom couldn't participate in any of them because she was still recovering from surgery. First came sledding. My dad, sister and I went to a city park and went down some pretty large hills. It was pretty hilarious, especially watching my dad eat snow on the way down! My mom was even allowed to go down the bunny hill once, it was pretty funny to watch her face.

Ice skating was pretty fun, this time my brother decided to join the family. My sister held on to the wall for the first part but she caught on pretty quickly and was skating on her own in no time. I only biffed it once, because I tripped over a chunk of ice, not cool. But it was fun nonetheless.

Snowboarding, now that was a different story. I never left the bunny hill, which is a slight decline. I was eating snow every 3 seconds it seemed like. My knees are still bruised because I landed hard on them so many times. I just don't think I'm coordinated enough to snowboard. My brother tried teaching me but snowboarding just goes against your better judgement on balance and movement. It was fun though and I'm glad I at least tried it.

B-Town and K-Dizz

Friday night my ward had our closing ward social for the end of the semester, an UNtalent show. It was meant to be entertaining and funny, not just singing and playing the piano. So, my roommate, Kathryn and I decided that she was going to beat box while I rapped. It was quite the show. I rewrote the rap "I'm a gangster" in like twenty minutes and made it about BYU-I and such. I had lots of fun doing it even though I am as white as cottage cheese. =]

I am a student
I get straight Bs
The Honor Code is the life for me
Wearing pants by day
Reading scriptures by night
BYU-Idaho is hekka tight

I walk around campus seeing too much affection
With which I have a real big objection
Saw a cute couple, thought I was gonna puke
Seeing them make out- such a fluke
I hate finals testing, so should you
and don't get me started on the swine flu

I am a student -wow I'm tired
I am a student -I just got fired
I am a student -Little knowledge I've acquired
I am a student -Mt. Dew gets me wired

I graduated at the age 18
then came to BYU-I for hardcore flirting
I didn't know RMs just wanna wife
and that premies just cause a lot of strife

38th ward is so fly
We love each other and we ain't shy
I live in 218, our apartment's fallen apart
Nonetheless I love my roomies with all my heart!

Beer Pong, Shasta Style

Do not let the name of the game throw you off, there was no drinking involved in last nights activities. (unless you count kiwi strawberry and orange soda haha)

So, my roommates and I went to an ugly sweater party at our neighbor's apartment. It was awesome, almost everyone there was in a pretty ugly looking sweater. They made me laugh. We drank hot chocolate, wassle and hot cider. Yum. My roommates and I went back to our place, to the store and decided we were going to play beer pong. Our FHE brother from our first semester, Tyler came and played with us. So much fun!

The object of the game is to be the one to drink the least amount of glasses. You take turns bouncing/throwing a ping pong at your opponent's set of glasses. If you make it in a glass they have to drink it. Also, if you make it into the small cup (the mug) the person has to drink all of the cups left on their side of the table, making them loose. We played some singles and some in teams! We drank soo much soda but soo much fun! The BYU-Idaho version of a pretty cool drinking game. Our next one is going to be power hour!

We also took some spontaneous Christmas-like pictures in front of our tree. Maria, Raquel and I. Just missing Christina.

Weather is deceiving.. like the devil!

So I wake up in the morning, roll out of bed, turn off the most annoying sound on the face of the planet (my alarm), stumble out of my room and head to the living room, saying good morning to whoever is already getting ready in the bathroom on my way. After standing mindlessly in the middle of the kitchen for a minute trying to wake up, I grab a yogurt out of the fridge and plop down on the couch under our window. I peer out upon the breathtaking view of the apartment complex parking lot, Hogi Yogi, and the construction zone on campus. I admire the blue ski and the beautiful sun rays hitting the trees. I finish my yogurt and continue getting ready to head to class. I then check the thermometer on my computer to see if I should wear my coat or not, thinking its around 20 or 30 degrees outside because it looks fairly warm out. Nope. Dead wrong. My jaw hits the floor when my computer tells me it isn't even 0 degrees outside, its NEGATIVE SIX! I official thought I was going to die. I don't think it is warm enough outside to sustain human life for that much longer. So goodbye everyone, I am being sucked into an unexcapable wasteland for the next 5 months. Pray that I survive.

B-town, the rededicated Blogger?

So, I have kind of gotten in trouble for not blogging like I said I would.. so this is me, turning over a new leave and rededicating myself to this online journal :) We will see how it goes this time.

I guess I can play a little catch up.

Its my 3rd semester up at BYU-Idaho (Its better than BYU Provo, I promise!) I am majoring in Biology, emphasis in Microbiology, minoring in Photography! I am completely excited about my upcoming classes! I have an amazing family and I love them with all my heart, I don't know where I would be without them. I absolutely love my roommates to pieces!! They are the best roommates out there, no doubt!

So last week was Thanksgiving break and it felt so good to relax and spend time with my grandparents and my family! I went to the Bishop's storehouse with my Bushka (its what I call my Dad's mom, its 10x's better than saying grandma!) to serve for the first time and it felt so good to serve and to know that I was helping to make someone's Thanksgiving a little bit better. I spent lots of time relaxing with my Bushka for the first part of the week.. it was AMAZING! I hung out with Jordan and some people I knew when I lived there two summers ago, lots of fun! Then my family and my Aunt Jen and Uncle Trevor and their family came along with my Uncle Trent! SO MUCH FUN! I got my baby fix holding two month old Jason, he is absolutely adorable! I ate more than I should have. Got up at 4 in the morning to go shopping! Insane, I know, but way more fun than I could have imagined! Took my younger sister and cousins to see Planet 51. They are so cute, I love them! Before I knew it, it was time to go, always a sad time. But, I look forward to the next time we are together! Now, we just need to get the Arizonian family to join us!!

Lets hope I can keep this up for at least a little while! Haha!
