Sketch Challenge Card x

Hiya, this is my card for our challenge blog x It was a sketch theme this month and I was really excited as I could have my first go at drawing a sketch to work from and my first go at making a card from a sketch. I thought this card was going to be easy as there was already a structure in place but I actually found it more tricky :-D I tend to have a picture in my mind of how I want my card to look and then I start and things go wrong and the card gets smaller and smaller or changes shape completely – things never quite go to plan.

I had to be much more disciplined than normal whilst making this card which was a challenge in itself :-) I did really enjoy the challenge though and I’m actually happy with how the card turned out – I think I’ll definitely get sketching again soon :-D

I’ve put picture links below for all of the supplies used x x

Punches Challenge Card x

Hiya, this is my card for our challenge blog x The theme this month is Punches and I was really excited about this one – seems like one of the more simple techniques to make a card look pretty. As you’ve probably guessed by now I like to keep my cards pretty simple and I was happy with this one as it came together so quickly (thanks to the genius of Martha Stewart and her ever so cute punches). Not much to describe about how this card was made as it’s super simple but I’ve put a list of supplies below in case you like any of them x x

Stitching Challenge Card x

Hiya, this is my card for our challenge blog x The theme this month is stitching (real of faux) which I was really excited about as I’ve wanted to give card stitching a go for a while :-) I think I found this card the hardest yet – not the stitching – I’m just finding it really tricky choosing papers for the designs. I’ve got a stack of beautiful My Mind’s Eye paper pads and I love them soooo much but when it comes to actually making a card and choosing papers to go together I struggle – I already had huge respect for card makers already but that respect has grown even more since I started having a go myself - I didn’t realise how very difficult it would be!! :-)

Anyway, onto the details - I decided to go with the ‘Foxy Friend’ digi and to avoid patterned paper altogether and just go with colours that fitted nicely to be on the safe side. I used the ‘Hey Buddy’ stamp from the ‘Simply Said’ stamp set by Paper Smooches with the Antique Linen Ink Pad by Tim Holtz as I thought the ink matched quite nicely with the rest of the card. To make the holes for the stitching I used the ‘Sew Easy Stitch Piercer’ (which I must admit is Sew Easy to use) and matched some embroidery threads as well as I could from my craft cupboard. I can’t decide if I like this card or not – it seems to be less about how much I like the card now and whether I dislike it enough to start again from scratch lol :-) I’ll get there though I’m sure – every day’s a learning day :-D

Digistamp Heaven CD :-)

Hi guys x One of my dreams came true this week as Polkadoodles have launched my very own digistamp CD :-D

The CD is called 'Digistamp Heaven' (thank you Nikky for the lush name) :-) and it can be found HERE. It's a collection of over 150 black and white PNG stamps focusing mainly on a celebration theme including the following categories:

  • Birthdays
  • Anniversary
  • Well Done
  • Parties
  • Sports and Recreation
  • Congratulations

There are lots of new characters in this collection including quite a few boys and men which is something we thought would be fun to focus on as there don't seem to be as many options out there for the lovely men in our lives :-)

Those of you who have come to know me well over the last few months know I don't like going on and on about my designs - promoting your own work can have a serious cringe factor lol :-) but I must admit that I am really proud to have my name against this CD as I truly believe it will offer a broad range of options for many types of cards.

I've put a handful of samples together this week to give you a peek at some of the new digi's - hopefully my limited card making skills don't put you off :-) I'm sure you can all do a much better job with the images than I can and look forward to seeing the new designs out and about in the future x

Above all, I hope if you do buy the CD that you enjoy playing with it as much as I enjoyed working on it - it has been a really exciting couple of months and I can't wait to show my friends and family a 'real life' product with my name on it :-D x x
