I have got a second chance to make a change.I must not squander this opportunity away.
To learn how to love, to learn how to live in peace.
Every second I make a decision.

I really really love this hymn. In fact, I memorized it. I believe that God provides.Because the Lord is my shepherd, I have everything I need.
He let's me rest in the meadows and leads me, to the quiet streams.
He restores my soul and he leads me, in the paths that are right.
Lord, you are my shepherd, you are my friend.
I want to follow you always, just to follow my friend.
And when the road leads to darkness, I shall walk there, unafraid.
Even when death is close, I have courage, for your help is there.
You are close beside me with comfort, you are guiding my way.
Lord, you are my shepherd, you are my friend.
I want to follow you always, just to follow my friend.
In love, you make me a banquet, for my enemies to see.
You make me welcome, pouring down honour, from your mighty hand.
And this joy, fills me with gladness - It is too much to bear.
Lord, you are my shepherd, you are my friend.
I want to follow you always, just to follow my friend.
Your goodness, always is with me, and your mercy, I know.
Your loving kindness strengthens me always, as I go through life.
I shall dwell in your presence forever, giving praise to your name.
Lord, you are my shepherd, you are my friend.
I want to follow you always, just to follow my friend.

Life means suffering. The first of the Four Noble Truths in Buddhism.
To live means to suffer, because the human nature is not perfect and neither is the world we live in. During our lifetime, we inevitably have to endure physical suffering such as pain, sickness, injury, tiredness, old age, and eventually death; and we have to endure psychological suffering like sadness, fear, frustration, disappointment, and depression. Although there are different degrees of suffering and there are also positive experiences in life that we perceive as the opposite of suffering, such as ease, comfort and happiness, life in its totality is imperfect and incomplete, because our world is subject to impermanence. This means we are never able to keep permanently what we strive for, and just as happy moments pass by, we ourselves and our loved ones will pass away one day, too.

Human nature is not perfect.
Ideals always pale in the harsh light of reality. Utopia is just a fancy dream. Every one has their own motives. I guess Joseph Stalin showed his own attitude to the flaws of mankind when he said, "Death solves all problems - no man, no problem."
If I were to describe what my life was, my life would be...
A boat floating gently, lazily down a meandering river. Where ever the water flows, I go too. I reckon my life is laid-back and unmotivated. My mum says, hard work pays off in the future. But she added that laziness pays off now.
Is it a crime to take my life slowly? I know that life is short, notwithstanding I rather walk down a dusty path whilst picking wild flowers and enjoying the cool breeze. Every day, people in Singapore chug along roads in their vehicles, to work or to home, in an endless cycle. Seems that if any one is to survive in this world, one has to take to task feeding the whole capitalistic system for the next generation.
Our lives were meant to be so much more than that.

Today I was presented with a very striking slide show.I will share with you what I saw.

The greatest asset - Faith.
The most powerful channel of communication - Prayer.
The most important thing in life - The power of God.
The greatest joy - Giving.
The worst thing to be without - Hope.
The most destructive habit - Worry.
The world's most incredible computer - The brain.
The greatest loss - The loss of self-respect.
The greatest natural resource - Youth.
The ugliest personality trait - Selfishness.
The greatest problem to overcome - Fear.
The most beautiful attire - A smile.
The most crippling disease - Excuses.
The most dangerous pariah - Gossip.
The two most power-filled words - I can!
The most worthless emotion - Self-pity.
The greatest “shot in the arm” - Encouragement.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.

A winter's dayIn a deep and dark December
I am alone
Gazing from my window
To the streets below
On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow
I am a rock
I am an island
I've built walls
A fortress deep and mighty
That none may penetrate
I have no need of friendship
Friendship causes pain
It's laughter and it's loving I disdain
I am a rock
I am an island
Don't talk of love
Well I've heard the word before
It's sleeping in my memory
I won't disturb the slumber
Of feelings that have died
If I never loved I never would have cried
I am a rock
I am an island
I have my books
And my poetry to protect me
I am shielded in my armor
Hiding in my room
Safe within my womb
I touch no one and no one touches me
I am a rock
I am an island
And a rock feels no pain
And an island never cries

This phrase popped into my mind while I was walking to the basketball court.Lesser of two evils.
You know, I thought about how people choose to hide the truth. Maybe sometimes, the person is best to be left in the dark. Maybe sometimes, the person is best to not know the truth at all. Maybe sometimes, we have to choose the lesser of two evils.
Oh my sleeping child
the world's so wild
but you've built your own paradise
That's one reason why
I'll cover you sleeping child
Never corrupt the innocence of a child.

Modern people live for themselves.People of the past lived to serve.
Could we just turn back the sands of time, and enter back into the age when individuals swore to serve their parents, their leader, their king, their God. To live to serve, hardly a scene we witness in the present day.
To fulfill one's duty, that is one's foremost task. Duty to serve is not a burden on my shoulders, duty is not a hindrance. Duty is what is expected of me. I will always serve others to the best of my abilities. To make another's life easier to bear, even if a little, lets me know that my life was worthwhile.
Only in death does duty end.

Sometimes, we choose to hide the truth because we are afraid that the truth would hurt. But even if it does, I rather know the truth, because to live in ignorance is to live a life of a coward. I rather know the truth and face it, simply because, it is the truth. The truth is undeniable, unshakable and unwavering. The truth will always remain where lies and excuses fall by the wayside.
I can hide from reality, but reality will never cease to exist. Reality will always be, because that is truth. You could build a high wall along the shore and claim, the horizon is no more. But beyond the wall, you and I both know that the horizon stretches across the vast ocean. You can never truly deny the truth.
And so, to live in ignorance and simulated bliss is not what I desire. I want to live in the truth. It matters not if the truth hurts. I do not want to live within the shadows of skulduggery and slivers of sinister intent. Every fraction of a second I would wonder, what would happen next. I know nothing in this world of well-kept secrets and guarded lies.
I want to feel the sun on my face and wind in my hair.
Can we just be open and not play a game of blind poker?
But if you do choose to continue,
then do not expect high stakes from me.
