Spring is here

Spring is here. Do you know how I know? Because of all the birds that are taking residency in our yard. This first picture are Eastern Bluebirds, they have made their home in Cameron's birdhouse he made at Cub scout camp. I lifted the lid so you could see the eggs. The Daddy is the really blue one with his head turned away and the Mommy is s little lower on the branch. She isn't as colorful

The birds that are eating off the birdfeeder are called House Finches and my favorite is the Cardinal down below.

Pinewood Derby

Cameron had his Pinewood Derby last night. Luckily we thought ahead and LIndsay was able to help all three kids make their cars back in December before he left. Cameron's is a shark, Makayla 101 dalmations and Daniel's is a truck. Cameron received the award "Most Original Design"

Lindsay was given an award from a three star general

Lindsay was given an award of a coin from General Thurgood yesturday. It was actually from a Three star General but was given by the Two star general. He got to eat lunch with the General also. In the group photo Lindsay is on the left side and another man from his unit is Col. Moody received a coin for his 40 year service in the Army. He is the soldier 5th from Lindsay.

Our trip to Atlanta

The kids and I went to Atlanta Georgia for our 2nd deployment support weekend. I attended boring class all day while the kids played.

They had a great big truck come and they played Wii, Playstation 3 and Xbox for a whole afternoon.

Happy 13th wedding anniversary

For our 13th wedding anniversary Lindsay sent me these beautiful flowers. I am putting them on this blog, not to brag but, so he can see them. We aren't being able to email photos too easily to each other right now. So I told him I would update our blog.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Daniel was lucky enough to find a 4 leave clover out by our new Red Maple tree. He and Cameron were helping me put a fertilizer stake into the ground and we looked around and found one.

Makayla is 12

Tonight was Makayla's first night at Young Womens. It was there New Beginnings program and they presented her with a Beehive basket full of fun stuff. The program has changed a bit since I was in there. I no longer have the correct theme memorized. I am going to have to work on that.

In the basket they had these Bee hairbands. Isn't that so cute! It was a fun night together.

Nashville Predator's Hockey game

For Cameron's 10th birthday we went to Nashville to watch the Predators game. It was Army night at the game so the soldier's let the kids climb up into the truck. It made me a little emotional to see the soldiers all around.

I didn't realize Daniel would be so affected by the noise but he was, so we bought him a head band to cover his ears and then a nice lady gave us ear plugs for his ears. He was perfectly fine after that.

I let Cameron get this goalie mit. It is a cup holder isn't he funny?

We got to go down onto the ice after the game. They Hi- 5 the mascot and got to shut a puck into the net. It was freezing down there.

Tornado season is here

Well we had a first real threat of a Tornado last Friday. So they sent the kids home early and we emptied the closet and prepared for the worst. Thankfully the tornado jumped right over us and left us unharmed. It was pretty scary but we ended up just fine.
