LAUNDRY STATS

Amy's laundry post inspired me to document and classify this week's laundry. I was a bit overwhelmed since I had not set foot in the laundry room for a week.

Time lapsed from start to finish - 36+ hours
Loads washed and dried - 12
Bathtowels - 27
Washcloths - 33
Placemats - 14
Napkins - 10
Slacks/Jeans -11
Pairs of Shorts - 26 pair
Shirts - 68
Undershirts 27
Underware - 36
Pairs of Socks - 27
Widowed socks - 4
Skirts/Skorts - 10
PJ's - 3 Swim Suits - 4
Dresses - 2
Bathmats -5
Blankets - 2
Piece of Green Paper - 1
Red Fair Ticket for Car Giveaway -1
Sheets - 2
Pillowcases - 4

Richard asked me if I had this broken down by person. I think I would need an accounting refresher course first! At least the family changes underware regularly and probably has on a clean shirt most of the time!

I've decided that the person who creates the most dirty laundry should do laundry from now on!

DAVID COOK and LOVE!

Earlier this month Richard and I celebrated our 22nd Wedding Anniversary. Richard surprised me with tickets to the IDOLS TOUR concert at the RUPP ARENA in Lexington KY. This past Saturday morning we left early and headed north without the kids. We stopped in Shakertown on the way to/from Lexington. Here is a shot of David Cook singing at the Rupp Arena in Lexington. For the record, he sang a total of 5 songs, using 3 different guitars. And yes, he even played the white one his father gave him on his 21st birthday.

My favorite song David sang was MY HERO dedicated to his brother Adam. This link will take you to the performance at the RUPP.

I am so blessed to be married to such a sweet heart. Richard was the first person to ever tell me, "I Love You." He loved me first and I've never wanted to be apart from him since. Thanks Hun for loving me, for being my source of strength through all the tough times, and for sharing all these years with me. I hope we have many more together.

Prayers for Joshua

Here's my cute little nephew Joshua. Isn't he adorable? He inherited my mother's big baby blue Armstrong eyes. It's hard to say no to this sweetie.
Joshua weighed a little more than 2 pounds at birth and stayed in the NICU for about a month. The nurses nick- named him Mighty Mouse. He's always been little, but he is mighty in wit, will, and strength.
Over the past year the Dr and family have been concerned about Joshua's growth - or lack of. After some serious testing, the family received confirmation yesterday that Joshua's body is producing hardly any growth hormones. He will probably start growth hormone shots soon and will need to continue these for several years.
I just wanted to share this cute picture of Joshua and ask for special prayers for him. Please pray that his upcoming MRI will be normal and he won't be too traumatized by the many years of injections his parents will be asked to administer.
I know the Lord has special plans for this child.

ABOUT THE BOAT........

I wanted to make it clear that in my earlier post, ROW ROW TOW YOUR BOAT, the problem was NOT the boat, but rather the OPERATOR. The OPERATOR was not exactly sure how to operate the boat since the OPERATOR was not the OWNER of the boat. The origianal OWNER/OPERATOR was able to start the boat up right away, on his first attempt after returning home.

I wanted to make this clear because the OWNER/OPERATOR of said boat is going to be selling this fine water craft in the near future. And I did not want to leave the impression that it was a DUD. If you are interested in buying this boat, you may contact the Weaver through the link on my blogpage, or e-mail me for their contact info.

ROW, ROW, TOW YOUR BOAT....

Two weekends ago, my cousin Kelly and her family were out of town and offered us the use of their boat. We were eager to accept since our whole family has never been out on a boat together. We packed a picnic dinner, loaded our fishing gear, and headed to the river. The weather was perfect too. We got the boat in the water and couldn't get it started. We decided to paddle a short distance to the shade and eat our dinner. After we finished eating, Richard was able to get the boat started and off we headed up river. We went past the Armstrong farm where my mother was raised and found a calm area to fish beyond the farm. Everyone had a blast. The sun had started to set, so we decided it was time to head back to dock. But we didn't go anywhere because the boat wouldn't start. Richard tried several times and knew he was draining the battery with every failed attempt. Soooo, we began rowing. We had two oars, and two boogie boards. We began rowing down river. We rowed and rowed and rowed and rowed. Earlier, boats had been passing us going up and down river. But now, we seemed to be all alone on the river. Finally we rounded a bend in the river and a couple of fishermen were anchored in the middle of the river. They didn't even ask, they just said, "We will tow you in." We gratefully accepted the offer. They got us to dock just before dusk. It was a memorable evening and we had a lot of fun together in spite of our troubles.

The Invisible Woman

I've been up almost an hour - everyone else is still sleeping. I've been busy preparing food for Sunday School along with Sunday Dinner, which will be ready when we get home from church. I do this often - and usually don't get have much time to adorn myself before worship. I just noticed my shirt is on inside out because I was half asleep when I hurriedly dressed. Only when I sat down to quickly check my e-mail did I even notice. Then I read this about the INVISIBLE WOMAN. This is the BEST 5 minute sermon I've ever heard! So what if I can't dress myself!

Only 111 More Days!

Need I remind anyone that there are ONLY 111 more shopping days left until CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

Our summer is quickly coming to a close. I am busy ordering home school materials and trying to decide what will work best for us this year. I am longing to be at the pool, but it's just too dang hot to be outside. I am dreading the hectic routine our school year brings - although ours is probably not as hectic as if we sent our kids to "real" school.

I wouldn't mind some snow, and cool weather today. My back porch thermometer is already past 100 degrees and it's just now lunch time.
