Take your time!

Take your time and see what we do. I love to post stories, lyrics, videos, pictures, etc. Anything that I think someone else would like to read. I vent and I rant, but it is all in good fun!

I really needed to hear this song yesterday and there is was!  I just love how whenever I am down, it lifts my spirits and lets me know that everything will be ok!

Mikeschair
Let The Waters Rise

Don't know where to begin
Its like my world's caving in
And I try but I can't control my fear
Where do I go from here?

Sometimes its so hard to pray
When You feel so far away
But I am willing to go
Where you want me to
God, I trust You

There's a raging sea
Right in front of me
Wants to pull me in
Bring me to my knees
So let the waters rise
If You want them to
I will follow You
I will follow You
I will follow You

I will swim in the deep
'Cuz You'll be next to me
You're in the eye of the storm
And the calm of the sea
You're never out of reach

God, You know where I've been
You were there with me then
You were faithful before
You'll be faithful again
I'm holding Your hand

There's a raging sea
Right in front of me
Wants to pull me in
Bring me to my knees
So let the waters rise
If You want them to
I will follow You
I will follow You
I will follow You

God Your love is enough
You will pull me through
I'm holding onto You
God Your love is enough
I will follow You
I will follow You

Ohhh
There's a raging sea
Right in front of me
Wants to pull me in
Bring me to my knees
So let the waters rise
If You want them to
I will follow You
I will follow You
I will follow You

Ohhh

Friday night with the girls

Friday night after Rebecca and ReAnna got back from camp we headed over to the $3 flicks.  Rebecca, ReAnna, Kaitlyn and I watched Something Borrowed. Second time for me, but the first for the girls.  We headed to McDonald's after to get hot fudge sundaes.  It was a fun and the movie was hilarious.  The badmitton scene is worth the entire movie!  We were cracking up!  I really need to bring my camera everywhere!

Saturday morning was the North Stake Pioneer breakfast at Bicentenniel Park.  There were three blow up bounce house style things there.  Even a pony!  The kids had fun, and I got to talk to Janice the entire time.  I totally missed her baby shower!  I assumed it was Saturday and it was Thursday!  I feel so stupid, but I was able to bring her her gift on Sunday at church!  I only have tow more blankets to make now!  One for the 6th of August and one for the 11th of August.

My Goofy Friend

I have this friend that I just love to hear from.  She lives far away and I miss her every day.  She gives the best testimonies because she feels them in her heart and shows it to all the world.  She is a unique person and there will never be another like her.  She makes me laugh when she uses words to describe stuff, because I understand where she is coming from.  I never thought that I would meet someone that has as horrible a childhood as mine.  Though I am not ready to talk about mine yet, but I am glad that she is.

Part of who we are is part of who we once were.  Abused children grow up not thinking they are anything special, that no one will ever love them, they think abuse is normal.  It takes one special person, Richard for me and James for her, to show us that we are loveable, we are special and that abuse is NOT normal.  For the both of us our husbands led us to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints.  Though I took longer to grasp onto it, we both got there.

I found the sister I begged for as a child.  I had sisters but none that shared my pain.  I am glad that Heavenly Father place Tana in my path even if for only a short time.  I know our paths will cross again in the future, but for now, I wait patiently and impatiently.  There is so much I want to share with her face to face.

I also found the older sister I always wanted in Anne.  She keeps me on my toes and helps me not miss Tana so much.  She is honest with me and does not let me get away with ANYTHING!!!  Sometimes I wish she were my mother, but I will take her as an older sister!!

I can not wait for the three of us to be able to go out on a girl's night out and paint the town some color other then red!!  Hurry back Tana, we need to paint the town and let them know we are here!!

Family Update

I know I normally update the Monday after the weekend, but it was a slow weekend and very relaxed.  I really need to start taking pictures to document what we do, so it does not sound like I am making stuff up.

Friday after Rebecca and I returned from the gym, we went as a family to the Clovis Farmer's Market.   We did not buy anything, but we just walked and looked at everything.  It was cooler out, so there were more people out walking the market.  There was a live band and people dancing, including this old man that was shaking his bootay!!  He was was grooving and singing to every song they played.  Can we say Groupie?

Friday we headed over to the Cox's and picked up some wood chippings from a tree they had removed and shredded into sawdust in front of their house.  It smells like medication, but it is a great cover.  We went home and weeded the garden and used the wood shavings to try to keep the weeds from continuing to grow.   The back yard smells like a pharmacy, but it looks nice.  We weeded about a month ago and so far the garden is growing again, even more now that we have weeded again.  We have butternut squash growing, peter pan squash and a couple pumpkins.  I need to water more in the garden but I am going to use the flood irrigation method this week.  I need the soil the get moist so that the plants can grow better.  Later that afternoon we went back to the Cox's and went swimming.  I even got a swimsuit on!  Shocking!  I never swim in public.  The kids sure enjoyed theirselves.  We headed back home and started putting together dinner for that night, we had invited the Cox's over again!  We love having them over for dinner.  Love you Tana and Anne.  We just love having people over for dinner.

On Wednesday we did a taco bar and invited the Arnold's and the Cox's over.  It was so much fun!  My family loves tacos, a little more then I do.  I am trying to be good and cut back on all my carb intake, so that I can lose enough weight to look good at a swim party and at my reunion.

Sunday Richard sang a solo in Sacrament and it was great!  Everyone was impressed with his singing ability.  I even saw some crying they were so moved by the words of the song.  I will post the words later.  I have heard him practice the song for so long that I mouthed the words with him!  That night we had roasted chicken for dinner.  Yummy!

Rebecca and I are determined to get into shape and look our best this fall.  I increased my time on the Elliptical machine to 25 minutes and all my weights by 5 pounds each.  On Tuesday I talked to the new personal trainer there and he said that if I am not feeling it the weight is too low.  I am doing them all correctly just with too little weight on them.  I increased it and boy can I feel it now!  I used the tummy killer machine and I felt that.  I need to work up to the weight though, I can't do it long enough to really get any benefit from it.  I hope to be up to 30 minutes by next Tuesday and keep at that for the next couple months until my reunion.  Any hints on a diet that will help me burn fat faster?

A Song For Everyone!

Each Tear

There's something that I want to say,
But I feel I don't know how.
Until I just can't hold it one more day,
So I think I let it out.

You're on my mind more than I may show
You're in my heart more than you may know
And the last thing that I want,
Is for you to fall apart.
Your future will be clearer,
I want you to remember.

In each tear
there's a lesson, (there's a lesson)
Makes you wiser than before (wiser)
Makes you stronger than you know (stronger)
In each tear (each tear)
Brings you closer to your dreams
No mistake, no heartbreak
Can take away what you're ment to be...

We can't change the things,
That we done, that's in our past.
But fighting won't get us anywhere,
So if you want, then here's my hand...

Every night there is one thing I do
I bow my head and I pray for you (pray for you)
And the last thing that I want (that I want)
Is for you to fall apart
Your future will be clearer
I want you to remember

In each tear
there's a lesson, (there's a lesson)
Makes you wiser than before (wiser)
Makes you stronger than you know (stronger)
In each tear (each tear)
Brings you closer to your dreams
No mistake, no heartbreak
Can take away what you're meant to be

You're much more than a struggle that you go through
You're not defined by your pain, so let it go...
You're not a victim, you're more like a winner
And you're not in defeat, you're more like a queen

In each tear
there's a lesson,
Makes you wiser than before (wiser)
Makes you stronger than you know (stronger than you know)
In each tear ( in each tear)
Brings you closer to your dreams
No mistake, no heartbreak
Can take away what you're meant to be

In each tear (each tear)
there's a lesson, (there's a lesson)
Makes you wiser than before (wiser)
Makes you stronger than you know (stronger than you know)
In each tear ( Make you so much more)
Brings you closer to your dreams
No mistake, no heartbreak
Can take away what you're meant to be

No no we can't be held down
No no oh noo I I I can't be held down
You you you can't be held down
We we we can't be held down

Love
And makes you so much stronger (stronger)
And makes you so much wiser (wiser)
In each tear (in each tear)
And you so close to your dreams,
And no mistake, no heartbreak,
Can take away you're meant to be

I love the message in this song.  It says for every tear you cry, you learn a lesson.  Basically for every step we take, every tear we shed and in everything we do, we learn.

This is a perfect song for my friend Tana and James, Phu, Anne, for my daugher, Rebecca, and pretty much anyone who feels the meaning in this song!  I know if you listen, it will touch you in some way!

One of those days!

It is one of those days today.  First my cat decides to try to trip me as I am going down the stairs, then I almost get killed by some idiot driving and talking on his cell phone at the same time!  What a total idiot!!

I really wish people woudl abide by the cell phone law!  Like that lady that killed that kid on Clovis Avenue, because she was texting while driving!  When will they learn?!?!  I think that everyone should start writing down license plates of those who are talking on their phone while driving and report them to the police!  Recent events should completely justify the reason for the cell phone law!  How many more children are going to be injured and/or killed before people start following the law!  I know that some of us are guilty of breaking that law once in awhile, but still we need to be more cautious and use our blue tooth or speaker phone!

Weekend Warriors!!

This weekend was not as busy but just as fun!  Friday night I went to see Something Borrowed with Cindy Bartyn and then we went to Denny's for dessert!  She had the apple crisp and I had the brownie a la mode!  Yummy yummy!  The movie was hilarious!  I laughed so much!!

Joh Krasinski from The Office was the best!  Kate Hudson reminded me of her mother Goldie Hawn!  Like mother like daughter takes on a whole new level with them!!  I totally recommend the movie!

Saturday was a primary activity at the temple!  There was a presentation from the temple president and his wife.  They gave us all nice pictures of the temple!  The kids got their picture taken touching the temple and we also got a family portrait taken in front of the temple!  I got a picture of me and Anne Arnold in front of the temple!  Awesome!  The kids got peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, which the teachers made.  I ended up with a ton of blisters all because I decided to wear my flats!  I have three blisters on each foot!  Owie!!

The three youngest of our children ended up at Hanieh's ninth birthday party right after!  They swam until 3pm and then came home.  We did some grocery shopping and relaxed and watched tv.  I finished the apricot jam and before we knew it it was 8 and we still had not started dinner!  Crazy!  We ate and then sent everyone to bed!

Sunday was church and we had the Cox's over for dinner!  All in all it was a great weekend!  How was yours?

Getting away with it!

I was watching CNN yesterday at work and watched Casey Anthony get away with murdering her daughter!  What the Flip was with that?!?  The jury only deliberated for eleven hours!  Where they tired and wanted to go home to their families?  Or did they already make up their minds and they just pretended to deliberate?  That poor little girl!  When will she get justice for what was done to her.  When will she get her day in court and be vindicated!  What was done to her was WRONG!!!!  Her mother deserves to rot in jail for the rest of her life and live with what she did.  Now she gets to party and have fun and breath clean free air!

What does Caylee get to do?  Well not walk or grow up or go on her first date or receive her first kiss, or get married or have children or grow old or play with her grandchildren.  She gets to do none of that because her own mother stole that from her!  Maybe she should have used better birth control so her daughter would not have been murdered.

I want to write some horrible rude and cuss and scream but I know that when it comes time for her judgement, God will have the final say and He knows the truth of what really happened.  Casey has to live with that for the rest of her life and one day she will pay and Caylee will get her justice.  Even if they prove one day that Casey did not kill Caylee (which I seriously doubt), it will still weigh heavy on everyone that she partied instead of sat home and worried after she called the cops when she was first missing and not after a month.

Sorry had to vent! Love you Tana!!

Three Day Weekend!

Our weekend started out with a double date with Anne and Bill Arnold.   We went to Marie Callendar's for dinner and then out to the Clovis Farmer's Market.  We wandered around and looked at all the stuff they had for sale.  There was alot of interesting stuff.  The difference in prices amazed me.  No one really seemed to budge.  I would think that if the booth next to you is selling zucchini for $2 and pound wouldn't you want to sell yours for a little less?  Just a thought.  Or at least that is what I thought competition was, trying to outsell your competitors.

Then Saturday we started out making some apricot jam from the five grocery bags that my sister brought me from her tree.  We still have an entire bowl to make into jam.  I am going to have alot of it for our three month supply.  Awesome!  I am thinking about trying a batch of Plum Jam, but I am not sure.  I do know that I will be canning tomatoes soon!   We also did the shopping for the Peachwood Ward Pancake Breakfast on the 4th of July.  We got strawberries, peaches, apples, bananas and whipped cream.  There was also the typical butter and syrup.  We ended up feeding about 250 plus people!  It was insane.  At one point I thought I was melting into the cement, it was so hot at 8 in the morning!

Saturday night we worked the fireworks booth.  It was pretty slow!  We sold stuff but not near as we had hoped!  Love you Tana!  We kept trying to sell the $500 box but had no takers!!  We sold out of a few things and one of the workers drove out to TNT and picked up some more!   It was darn hot out there in that little booth!  CRAZY!!

Sunday we went to church and prepared stuff for the breakfast after church!  We watched the fourth Indiana Jones and just relaxed and tried to stay cool!  It was again HOT HOT HOT!!  I am sure I could have fried an egg on the sidewalk at one point!!

Monday was the breakfast and as I stated before, it turned out great!  Everyone was happy and only one person asked twice where the sausage was.  No complaints at all!  Everyone seemed very happy and full after they ate!  Strawberries went really fast.

Monday afternoon from 1-7 we were again in the fireworks booth and it was yet again HOT!  109 degrees!  Crazy!  I got sick, but we did sell alot of fireworks!

After the booth closed we head to my house with the Durnell's and Yanez's.  We had ribs, hot dogs, corn, potato salad, baked beans and rootbeer floats!  Yummy Yummy! We ate in the front yard and watched the neighbors set off their fireworks.  We had some sparklers, ground flowers, piccolo petes and purple rains.  We had fun and everyone was happy!

Wished some could be there, but I know they are needed in Washington!  They better return, cause I would hate to have to drive up there and drag them back!  Miss you guys!

How was your fourth of july?
