Weekend!

This weekend started with us doing something on Friday that I have no idea what it was! I know we watched the end of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith, but other then that, no clue what we did!

Saturday we started working on the garden by making the boxes and turning the dirt inside of them!  Luckily we already have tomatoes, squash, watermelon and cantelope growing.  We are going to have about a million tomatoes again!  I guess I will be learning to can tomatoes this year!  We planted carrots, bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, and eggplants.  We finished around 7 and headed to the store to get our dinner for Monday.  I went to help a friend with her computer and got home around 11 am!

Sunday was church and mexican food night!  Yummy! Unfortunately we overslept and woke up at 9am, the same time that sacrament starts.  We made it to second and third hour without a problem.  Later that evening we put up the net for vollyeball and badmitton on Monday!

Monday we worked more on the garden.  We planted corn and peas.  Plus we put in the sprinkler system for the garden and it was a continous run back to Lowe's for pieces that we found out we needed!   First we bought everything in 1/2 inch size, then had to go get plumbing stuff in 3/4 inch size.  Then I had to go back and get a coupling reducer!!  Stupid Home Depot!!  I totally prefer Lowe's!!

Once that was done we started playing badmitton and getting dinner on the BBQ!  We decided on swiss cheeseburgers and tri tip!  With my macaroni salad, corn on the cob and sauted zucchini!  Rebecca kept mouthing off that the kids could slaughter the old ones at badmitton.  Boy was she sadly mistaken!  Then we ate and then switched it up boys against girls. Kept no score and it was fun!  The final serve was Richard and I going back and forth until Richard missed it! The kids thought it was great!!

Tonight is our Ward Family Picnic!  Richard is making focaccia sandwiches, baked beans and corn on the cob. Not sure what Richard is making for dessert to share, but I know it will be good!!

Snail Mail

On Tuesday we got a notice from the USPS telling us that they had a package for us.  So Wednesday Richard goes down to the post office to pick it up.  And guess what?!?  The package was mailed from my sister in Utah on October 15, 2009!!  It was the package that disappeared before we could get it!  So apparently someone got it by accident and kept it in the package in their house for almost 2 years!!!

Why would you do that? The address is on the package and it is not yours? Why keep it for that long?  It's nice that they finally returned to sender, but rude to keep it that long!

$1,000,000

Where is my million dollars?  Why do I not have any filthy rich relatives that can leave me millions in their wills? Why will the lottery office not just let me win the lotto because I want it more?

No such luck!  I guess if I add together my w4 for the past 18 years, I would have had a million dollars, maybe.  I just want one million dollars to spread out on the bed and roll all over it.  Not naked though, that is kinda gross.  Money is really dirty.  There was a study that showed over three fourths of the one hundred dollar bills in LA have trace amounts of cocaine on them.  Just what I need, roll around naked on one million dollars worth of  one hundred dollar bills and I can't pass the drug test.  Mmm, that would be my luck!

Well maybe some rich socialite with no heirs will feel sorry for me and leave me everything she has in her bank account when she passes away.  It could happen, well pigs could fly also, but I doubt either will happen in my life time.  Until then, I guess I continue to work hard, pray for a rich relative(kidding) and keep trying to convince the lottery office to just let me win because I want it more.

Phonies

I hate fake people. A strong word, but I just can not like someone that pretends to be someone else!  People who put on this persona that they are wonderful and have the best intentions.  They have everyone completely in love with them and all want to be their friend.  There is this one fake person that I go to church with, that I tried to be cordial with, but I just can't do it anymore.  I don't talk to her, or go to girls night out if she is there, i sit at a table away from her at relief society events and scouts.  I just can't deal with her.  She is a phoney baloney and I can't stand it!  I thought we were friends at one time, but then I found out that she told people we were her ex's friend.  I threw her a baby shower!  How is that us not being friends?!?!  She talks to people I talk to, so when she starts a conversation with them, I try to be cordial, but eventually I have to get up and walk away.   I went to one Girls's Night Out with her there and then had to leave because she was dominating the entire conversation at the table.  One of the sisters told me later that she told everyone at the table I don't like her and that is why I left.  I left because she would not let anyone else get a word in edgewise, so what was the point of staying.  Every Sister I talk to at church I love and consider them my friends.  Her I can't.  I know too much about her that I just do not want to be her friend.   But I refuse to gossip about it all.  So I avoid her and am happier for it!
Love you Tana, Ruth, Joelle, Becky, Stasha, Amy, Lucy, Shaylee, Deon, Anne, Sharon, Sarah, Erin, and all the other sisters from other misters that I talk to all the time!!

Crazy Week so far and it's only Wednesday!

My house looks like the laundry hamper threw up in my living room when I got home yesterday, but apparently the kids "seperated" the clothes.  Not sure what there definition of piles of clothes is, but it certainly is not the same as mine.  My living room looks strangely enough like their bedrooms before I tell them to pick up their dirty clothes.  The "piles" in the living room look like they have been trampled and kicked around all day.  Yes I am guilty of walking on them and kicking them out of the way.

Richard is getting ready to go to Father and Son Campout, so I am hoping that the holocaust look to my house will soon be gone.  He needs to pull out the camper and fix a propane line and then I need to do some stocking and cleaning up inside.  Yes I clean the camper before we go camping and I clean it when we get home.  If it starts out clean I feel better!  I hate cleaning the bathroom though because it is sooo sooo small!!  I am slightly claustraphobic, so it freaks me out in there. The thought of taking a shower in there gives me the heebie jeebies!

I went with ReAnna to Sonora when she was in 6th grade and when we did the Moaning Cavern tour,  I had a huge claustrophobic meltdown.  It was all the squeezing up the stairs and feeling like I was crawling into a small tunnel.  My mind started thinking of EVERY worse case scenario it could come up with.  So I started seeing spots and getting extremely hot and having trouble breathing!  The poor tour guide thought I was dying.  Probably would have been ok if ReAnna stayed with me, but she was ignoring me and hanging out with her friends.  Embarrassing Mom!

SO here it is Wednesday and so far no craziness, but half the family is more then likely still asleep.  The craziness has not woken up all the way yet!  :)

Dumb things that people have done driving in front of me!

Driving behind--A green old old mini van

A siren sounds and the driver of the van stops right there in the middle of the street and throws his hands on the dash.  Too bad for him it was an ambulance, but I wonder how often he gets pulled over by the police.

Driving behind--little white toyota

Stops dead in the middle of the street and goes slowly house by house stopping each time to look for the address. Everytime I try to go around him, he takes off again.

Driving behind--ugly car

Driver turns right from the left hand turn lane

Driving behind--a mercedes(in San Jose)

On the on ramp, the mercedes comes to a complete stop and waits for room to merge.

I seriously think that there should be an intelligence test required before you can get your license or buy a car.  Also I think there should be a sticker to tell you if they have insurance or not on the back of your car.  I have a friend that keeps getting hit by uninsured motorists and idiots.  If you can't afford insurance maybe you can't afford a car or the gas!  Why are people driving without insurance and even a license?  If they were required to display their proof of insurance and their valid drivers licence, I think people would be more intelligent drivers.

Weekend

This weekend was another very busy losing our mind slowly weekend!

It started Friday with our 3rd Annual Spring Concert Dinner.  We served Spaghetti and unfortunately the turn out was bad.  The band director did not do alot to promote the dinner at all.  We did manage to cover the costs of the food and them some.  So it was not a total lose.  Next year we are hoping to get a bigger turn out next year with it hopefully being at our school and not another school like it has been the past three years.

Saturday we spent most of the day getting the house cleaned and food cooked for the open house dinner for after Amberlin's baptism.  It turned out pretty darn cool!  It was a packed chapel for all seven primary children that were being baptized.  The Gage family had the most in attendance, so they let them baptise their daughter first to make room for the others in the relief society room.  All in all it was pretty cool.  We had Phu and William as witnesses and Amberlin let go of her nose and took a breath just as she went under!  Silly kid!  Her confirmation circle was her dad of course, the bishop, Brother Malcolm, Brother Bartyn, and Brother Burton.   Then they all came back to our house for a taco bar.  It was really cool because everyone was so happy to be there and we were happy to have them there.   Though some of our friends were out of town or sicker then dogs, they were there with us in spirit!!  Tana and James let us borrow Phu and he was a GREAT help.  Jumped right in and helped Rebecca clean up the kitchen before people got there and then played with the kids.  The funniest part was when he forced himself to eat two helpings of taco salad.  He said he was going to explode!  LOL!  He ran it off though, playing with the kids.  He did however need a four sided lap to accomadate all my children wanting to sit next to him.

Sunday was Mother's Day and after church, I was pretty much spoiled!  I got salsa and cream cheese and chips for an appetizer and then dinner was AWESOME!!  Chicken Cordon Bleu, mushroom risotto, corn, crab stuffed mushrooms, home made rolls, shrimp bisque and strawberry pizza!  Yummy yummy yum!  The kids gave me hand made cards and art projects from school and church.   I am very happy and glad that it was a good one.  Got a little squished with everyone trying to sit by me and watch television.  I needed the four sided lap.

Gonna try and have some fun this week and get ready for the mother daughter time this weekend while Richard and Christopher are at Father Son Campout to Commerate (sp) the Priesthood.  And debating on having a surprise baby shower for a lady in my ward that is due next month!

Big plans for this weekend!!

Our weekend will once again start with complete craziness!! Friday is our 3rd Annual Spring Concert Dinner.  This is a fundraiser dinner that Richard started with the Buchanan Band when Rebecca was a freshman.  This year we are having spaghetti and meatballs!  Only $7 for adults and $5 for kids 8th grade and younger!  I am excited about the possibility of making a bunch of money for the band, but I am not excited about the clean up. It seems that when the concert starts at 7, all of our help disappears.  This year I am hoping that with a little diligence and thinking ahead, we can see the concert this year.  The past two years we have yet to see the concert. :(

On Friday we are expecting Richard's sister and her fiance from Missouri.  Richard was born and raised most of his life there and this is his oldest sister.  We love visiting her and having her visit us!  She is so much fun and not pretencious or hoighty toighty.   Though I love his entire family, they accepted me just on the basis that he loved me.  That was good enough for them!

Saturday is Amberlin's baptism and we are still tossing around the idea of having an open house style dinner to celebrate.   It looks like it will happen, just not sure what to have.  Richard wants to practice making large quantities of food like he will when his cafe opens this summer.  :)

Sunday is Mother's Day and I am hoping that we have Chicken Wraps, Shrimp Bisque and Stuffed Mushrooms for my Mother's Day dinner!  Mmmmmmmmm!!!!  Though Steak sounds awesome, I really like his chicken wraps!  Oh and a fancy garden salad!  Yummy!!!!

What are your plans for this weekend and are they as crazy as mine?

Coming soon to a baptismal font near you!

This weekend Amberlin is finally getting baptized!  We will be with the stake primary baptism this Saturday at 4 at the Fresno North Stake Building on Peach, just off of Herndon.  She turned 8 in February, but the stake baptism was on our anniversary and we were crazy busy that day with prior commitments.  So we are definitely on for this Saturday!  I invited people through Facebook and via word of mouth.  So if you are not busy this Saturday at 4, please come to the Fresno North Stake Center and see the Stake Primary Baptism.  :)  Hope to see you there!

Oh my goodnes!

http://abclocal.go.com/kfsn/story?section=news/local&id=8110253&rss=rss-kfsn-article-8110253

I am so glad that our church has it's own prom.  No worries about any of this happening at the Fresno LDS prom!!

AAHHHH!!

I know I should be nicer, but how can I?  Richard goes out of his way to pick up these boys for cub scouts every Tuesday and even takes them home.  Sometimes I get recruited to do the picking up and dropping off.

I guess it would not bug me as much if they were more appreciative.  It seems that they expect someone to pick them up and take them home.  I guess it has to do with the way they are raised.  The parents teach the children by example and if their example is to think that they are owed something from everyone they meet, then the kids are going to think that way also.

We have done alot for them.  We offered to take the whole family to several pack meetings, have them over for dinner and even got them bikes!   When their bikes were stolen, and someone gave us some old bikes, Richard fixed them up and gave them to them.  Only to have one of the boys take the nice bike apart to put together a total piece of crap.  The one daughter cried because the bike she got was pink.  Not sure, but when you don't have something, shouldn't you just be gratefull that someone cared enough to give you it?

The one boy came into my house and wiped dog poop off his shoe onto my couch and a recliner, acts like my house is his and does what he wants and has absolutely no table manners.  How can parents teach children to act like this?!?!?   He is always asking for stuff, like we have 2 fishing poles and he asked if he could have those, asked Christopher if he could have some of his cars that he just got for his birthday.   And last night, they were in my car and I told them to stop yelling over the music and there is no eating in my car.  Did they listen? Nope, not one single bit.  They continued to yell over the music, which I had on lower then I normally due and they ate cookies in my car and got crumbs everywhere.  Amberlin even told them twice that I said no eating and they still did it.  Richard says he is going to talk to them about that.  He thinks they are taught by their dad that they do not have to listen to women, so they ignore me.  Plus the older boy ran to my car and yelled shotgun, I had to tell him that it is my car and I decide who has shotgun and the oldest child in the car gets shotgun.

I use to complain about my own children's lack of manners, but after dealing with these boys, my kids are perfect little angels!  Sure they occassionally eat with elbows on the table and accidentally track poop in the house, but at least they correct themselves and clean up what they tracked in.  When I tell them not to eat in my car, they listen.  They don't ask for everything, but they are willing to give their own stuff away to make someone else happy and when they get something, you hear thank yous and get hugs and they are so excited.

Though I feel I am teaching my children the correct way, maybe they think they are too.  Who knows maybe they learned what they know from their parents and so on and so forth?   There really is two different worlds theirs and ours, the right way and the wrong way, but I am sure they see it that way too.

Weekend, weekend

This weekend started far earlier then I would have liked!  It was Mormon Helping Hands at Roeding Park this Saturday.  The entire Stake was out there cleaning up the park.  We got there a little late and we scraped the rust off the bbq's inour area and Heritage Wards and then repainted them black.  Some of them were so rusted it is a miracle they are even still standing.  The park was so clean and everyone was so dirty!  The city, I think, bought everyone pizza, 220 to be exact.  And the Roeding family was out there thanking us too.  It was awesome.

All that painting of the bbqs really got me craving some bbq of our own!  So we headed to the store to get bbq supplies.  We had my macaroni salad, baked potatoes, grilled zucchini, baked beans and steak.  With ice cream sandwiches for dessert.  Mmmmmmm!!  Then Sunday I was still in the mood for bbq, so we invited the Cox family over and had us some BBQ chicken!  YUMMY!!  We had baked beans and macaroni salad again, garden salad, zucchini, rolls, and bbq chicken.  With Chocolate Delight for dessert!  Yummy again!

I am trying to have a better attitude this week so I am trying to find the best in every situation, even bad ones.  It is going to be one tough week.  My first reaction is to always get mad first, so trying to stop that from happening is not going to be easy, but I am going to try.  My kids are probably going to think that their mom was kidnapped by aliens and replaced with an alien lifeform in human body suit!   So if you hear my kids talking about tying me up, or some sort of experiement to remove the alien, please let me know!  Thanks!!  :)
